  • Hi there, i am thinking of buyig this amazing antenna myself. Can you tell me if it makes a lot of noise when it storms? Some of my older antennas made such noise i had to remove them.

  • It's 24' not 22'

  • What is this mounted on? Also, how high up?

  • the only thing good about the i max is its junk the new one is even worse when the wind is blowing the swr go up an down i have had 2 of them there not that good i got a workman bandit ant its recive an talking a lot better then the max2000

  • Sirio 827 will destroy it...end of..

  • EVERY TIME I PUT UP AN I MAX2000 THE SWR GO UP AN DOWN IN THE WIND ANWHEN U PUT OTHE COAX PUT IT ON FINGER TITE OR IT WILL MAKE IT LOSRT AN NOT WORK I DONT NO Y THAY DONT MAKE THEM A LOT BETTER

  • @scrappycat04 just put some ( almalgamation tape)over you're plug its like a rubber tape and its a must for plugs/and the joints on antennas, you can buy it on ebay.

  • Trieste in Italy to the wind blowing at 180 kilometers times, you as the wind blows?

  • mira como dobla y no rompe ,esa es la que voy poner

  • BRING BACK THE ARMY BIG STICK!

  • we had 55mph winds here in ireland last nite and my wee silver rod is still living lol im surprized

  • This is a response about wattage it can handle to get it right ok. I have talk to solarcon tech/designer and it will handle 6000 watts pep but only 3000 watts rms but to be on the safe side for the public to operate they rate this antenna 5000 watts pep and 2000 watts rms ok thats the truth strait from the guys who make these antenna's. (FACT) doesn't matter about SSB vs. AM as long as your meter stays within pep wattage your ok.

  • The Imax is 24' tall. 3 eight foot sections.

  • These handle about 2000 watts max.. No way your Stonewall wil blow one up.. The bending is only due to high wind. This is a good thing, as in high wind the antenna has the option to bend or break..

  • i've read on this anttenna and they say you can put 5000 watts through them.

  • nope 1500-2000 watts max on ssb and no more then 800-1000 on am/fm

  • Kuffbass, The video you saw was in worst case type winds, normaly it wont swing that much in 25-30 mile an hour winds. But to answer your question not much, this is one of the flattest parts of the country high winds are part of the routine. I watch my SWR all the time and there are no changes, this antenna is 1.1 / 1.5 from 25 mhz to 30 mhz. I talked to another radio bud and he says he has run 500 watts on AM on this one, of course a good ant tuner goes a long way.

  • does your swr change alot in wind. Plus how does it affect your rx/tx

  • It bends so it doesn't snap, thats a good thing. As far as that amount of power on AM I cant say, does 300 watts SSB no problem.

  • Wow did not know these bent that much in wind. Was thinking about getting one,but don't know now. Someone said these blow on 100 watts am. I am thinking of getting a General Stonewall Radio that tuned does 150 watts am. Another reason I might not get one of these.
