I really like it. Dark, moody, hypnotic. Sabbath, Deftones for sure. I like the repetitiveness, then it hits a really cool bridge that pulls right to the main riff. No use or need for verse, bridge chorus. The typical structure everyone and their mother feel a need to do! This band likes what they do.

Goth music can be judged based on how many Goths listen to it. If nightwish has a gothic listening population of 25% or more, you could consider it gothic, but I'm not sure how many goths listen to nightwish. If you have a huge crowd of goths listening to within temptation, they're gothic. Doom metal is close enough to goth to be considered gothic music. There aren't many emos or preps out there listening to doom metal, 75% of doom metal fans, or more, are goths.

Although arguing over genres isn't really my forte, this is clearly Symphonic Gothic Metal. I can see how one would think this is Power Metal as there are obvious similarities, but the subtle (and some not so subtle) differences point to it clearly being Symphonic Gothic Metal.

I'm not sure I'd even classify it as that. I think its sounds more like plain old Alt rock. There are several bands from the early 90's that share this same sound, such as Eve's Plum and even Liz Phair to an extent. That being said, however, I still really like this song.

@LordLanthros1 doom metal isnt a "form" of gothic metal it only sound has some goth influence because most 90's doom metal bands such as my dying bride anathena or paradise lost were influenced by and incorporated influence of "gothic" rock such as sisters of mercy fields of the nephilim or red lorry yellow lorry.. pretty all doom metal bands hereafter picked up on that gothic metal is soley influenced by " goth" and metal genres such as death and black metal. even vast is more goth than doom.
