Its ironic that some of the most harsh stereo types of Americans are based on southerners............The region was populated during original settlement not with later waves of non British immigrants like central,southern and eastern Europeans ,what does that mean ????It the most British region in America....Thats what...................And maybe those stereotypes of the south say something about how BRITS feel about themselves....

What happened to all of New England and the east coast that Alabama and Mississippi have become the remaining British culture centers in the US? Even if you were right, that doesn't really explain the fact that after the colonization of America the British continued to be more socially liberal whilst your 'British South' stagnated in their conservative ways. IN THE 90S FOR EXAMPLE 90% OF THE JOBS CREATED IN THE USA WERE IN THE SOUTH...Please check this fact,jobs = wealth......And the birthrates of the northeast for example are sub replacement... The south is growing....

I use to wonder why so many people come from up north in recent years to live in the South,this is where the jobs are,AS WELL AS Lower Taxes,lower cost of living,higher standards of living.....

I have been all over the world, and have found that if you ask for trouble, there is always someone who will oblige you. No matter where you are. I actually got stabbed after going to my first and only Manchester United game, for no apparent reason. But I don't have it on tape, with derogatory remarks about Britain, as compared to these guys.

When they assume something about a person, a state, a country, or a situation, it just exemplifies how ignorant they are.
