  • @countryloven2003 I so agree- i only like the old fashioned real country not the commercialised stuff they pump out by the yard these days-when how and why did they change the sound?

  • @tim60s321 you ever noticed the old singers. they sang from the heart.. today they just say the words. give me the old music anyday.

  • Love this song...this is another country great...!!!

  • Pardon me but Honestly speaking i am not familiar with this artist and this song. But when a man ( JEFF ) whom i am starting to miss every minute of the day , shared it to me..i became to like the song because of the lyrics..But when i heard it played the second time, it kinda made me shed a tear as if Jeff is thinking to disappear and stop seeing me again..oh, please Jeff don't think of doing it to me..coz you will surely hurt me..

  • What a classic. hope Jeff's still there :o)

  • @helenaZZZZirlandaise hey, how do you know that my Jeff is still there?. But you are absolutely right. He wont leave me because he knows that i care for him and will always be . Anyway, thanks you noticed my comment .. " What I've Got In Mind is now one of my favorite songs..

  • Their are a few doing real country, not as many as b4 thats for sure.

  • Such a lovely song sang with deep feeling from a great LADY of true COUNTRY JAMES(SCOTLAND)

  • gosh singing along

  • FINALLY...People are seeing the truth behind counrty pop. I concur, Todays music is soulless, no style and no feeling. no direction! Songs from Charlie Pride, Faron Young, Johnny Paycheck, the young years of David allen coe, Billie Jo Spears...Yes this is when counrty was True country! songs from Tammy Wynette...Today's music it's trash in my opinion! And I have NOT bought an album since Randy Travis did Operator please connect me to 1982. Untill Music City straightens it up I refuse to buy!

  • A firm hand shake for your comment, seems staight from my heart too. few more lovable legends...Jim ed brown, johnny loughrey, Bill Anderson, Skeeter Davis, Melba Montgomery, Goldie Hill, Little Jimmy Dickens, Mick Flavin, Kris Kristofferson, n soooo many more.

    tks and hello.

    sandeep

  • I hail from the UK and i could not agree more give me True Country Singers Hank Snr,Merle,Don Gibson, Conway Twitty,Roger Millar, just to name a few. James.

  • today's country music has no soul.

  • don,t this sound nice ? it don,t sound like the music today. the old stuff had meaning.

  • this is another old goodie. this is what country music is supposed to sound like. can't beat it. thanks for the share. i'm doing my best to get some of these good songs down for our band to do. you got good taste in music. best wishes, margie

  • i put this 1 on here too, margie. don,t this music sound better then todays music ?

  • I agree flashbell. Dont forget to add the current ones over a certain age. They neglect them too.

  • Country music today is nothing more than the flavor of the day. I can't stand the doubling vocal machine they use on virtually every song put out. I guess they use it so much because the country artists of today can't sing!

I no longer listen to country music radio, it makes me gag!

Love this lady. What a voice and what a song! Will live forever. Just found one for my jukebox! You go Billie Jo!

  • great tune, cant get it out of my head, a "true classic"?

  • excellent singer, excellent song..thanks for the video...

  • We sure dont have talent like this and Bobby Bare anymore, what a shame!!!

  • pete drake on steel guitar

  • Hi Flashbell, My God they don't make music like that anymore. The 60s and 70s are the best music years. Great video. Take Care!

  • Thank you for stopping by my site.

  • A great song

  • This has always been one of my favorites. Anyone know who the steel player is?

  • Pete Drake

  • Another DYNAMITE Performer from the GREAT "Lone Star State, TEXAS !!! Great Song!!!

  • i am fed up to the back teeth the way the media in this country appear to ignore country music. Trawl through radio channels just a load of rubbish. we need more country on the airways.

  • thank you for posting such a great song and video

  • Funny. Comment How could this be declared outlandish. Has any one heard the new spin from Leann Rimes. Ear pollution.

  • countryjane..I love your term "ear pollution"

Could be used to describe modern "country music."

  • P.s I live in Scotland and am a 26 year old Celtic supporter who likes going to his uncles on old firm days and raiding his old country c.ds. Well, I have to say, this has been the unanimous winner, so much so that my missus now hates the song. But seriously, times must've been so so good back in the day, or I'm just old before my years (in musical taste that is, I still love getting blootered!).

  • Michael Francis. I think you've just got good taste mate. Our Mrs-es can't always be right.

  • Hail hail from Australia

  • classic comment, made my day cheers and enjoy country cheers ps check ut jim reeves, I too have enjoyed country since I was in late teens and now the wrong or is that right side of 40

  • Anyone able to do a cover of this please?

  • i will :)

  • I love singing this at karaoke

  • i take it your a billy joe spears fan flashbell? thank you. shes my fave country singer

  • I'm SORRY, They don't make 'em like this anymore! Everything now is in your face noise. God love Billie Jo!

  • Wow! These old country songs bring back fond memories of a much simpler time when life was a lot less hectic and a lot more enjoyable.

Most of the so-called music these days seems to be more of a get rich quick scheme than anything else, old country and old rock-and-roll is actual music performed straight from the heart.

I'm glad it's not gone forever.

  • Just great i saw her years ago Bristol uk and she was and still is just great thanks for posting..

  • Gretchen Wilson sounds a lot like her. she should record this.

  • Love it! Super job, thats for posting!

  • super song , i love it! is it from the 70s?

  • Is it possible to post other songs from Billie Jo Spears? Do you have, Last Rose of Summer, Lonely Hearts Club, Slow Movin Outlaw,

Silver Wings and Golden Rings, More to a Tear?

If you do, please could you post them, I know those who really enjoy her will really love these songs. Thanks a million

  • Still sounds just mighty fine! Always love to hear anything Billie Jo sings - another true C&W talent.

    Thanks for posting this one!

  • Billie Jo has a very sexy voice and pretty to boot. She can sing anything and make it sound like an award winner. I'm sorry that she's not in the limelight anymore. Too many of today's singers are not really loaded with talent - more of just showmanship and often mediocre voices.

I like "Blanket on the Ground" too and "Mr Walker It's All Over". That one makes me laugh -Paula

  • OMGoodness. Thanks, Flashbell for posting this. Didn't expect the teary, lump-in-the-throat reaction this song brought on! Funny how music can transport us back to happy times, old loves, and our misspent youth! Love Billie Jo's earthy "countryness". She's the real thing.

  • I remember hearing this song in "Rory Emerald" a UCLA student film. Thanks for posting a great song and video.

  • This song reminds me of my childhood - and I'm only 25...

  • Me too and I'm only 20. I think a good thing about country is how it gets passed down from parents/grandparents to kids.

  • And me -22

  • Great song. Great voice. Thanks for posting. :)

  • Great song thanks,for posting.
