The purpose of a cover is not to duplicate the song. A cover is a song redone expressing the style of the artist who covers it. This is definitely David's style, somewhere in between his pre-pop albums and pop. You can like or dislike it, but, that's a cover for you.

He took this song and made it more poppy thing is this is not a happy song this is a song that is supposed to have a very somber feel. Its one thing to take a song and make it your own which is good. Its another thing to take a song and lose its meaning in translation which is what happened here. David Gray can sing and write great songs but this is not a good cover basically what taranos said and brian said in a more agressive way haha. Probably fangirl fanboy moment if you all like this one.

This is simply awful, an example of how to deprive a masterpiece of everything that makes it interesting. The beginning is boring and lacking in rhythm, but I'd say the dance-like tempo that comes up later is even worse. Moreover, this guy can't sing in time and doesn't put any emotion in the interpretation, as if he was practicing solfeggio.

Please, cover whatever you want but think about it very carefully before messing with the Boss!!!
