  • at 4.39 Is that Steve Perry sitting next to Terry?

  • there a picture on Google images of him lifting weights, if u click on the pic and go on the site there 48 pics of him, doing weights, with arnie etc. his leg muscles are unbelievable!!! ..i thought jcvd was fit but O'Neil was something else!!!

  • Does anyone have a copy of Terry O'Neill doing a chair demo with Bob Poynton

or know where I can obtain a copy /

  • Does any one have the full series, I remember it (and had it) I would love to get another one please, Terry O'Neill... brilliant karate man and he had the best martial arts magazine ever.

  • @bushidobonce terry is my dad, i can get one :) Hannah O'Neill

  • @HIPSlird

Well thank you for that I would love to take you up on the offer, my email is barry1@blueyonder.co.uk I will pay you what ever you require, it would be really some thing to get it again, I even contacted the TV company who said it was probably in their vaults but they had no plans to reshow it, I must have nearly all copies of Fighting Arts. Please contact me and I hope your Dad is doing really well. He was and is a true legend in Karate.

    Regards

  • @bushidobonce i shall email you as soon as my dad finds one in his office!.. its filled with fighting arts! haha

    Best Wishes,

    Hannah

  • @HIPSlird Thank you Hannah

  • 3 k's?

  • @Rafahil Kihon, Kata and Kumite. The Japanese used to say that karate and sports like rugby had another 3 k's: kitsui, kiken and kitanai - tough, dangerous and dirty!

  • Terry O'Neill ....... made Chuck Norris cry.

Both Terry and Kawasoe Sensie were my grading instructors in the 80's.

    Thanks for posting .

  • ushiro-geri AMAZING!

  • Asian sugar babies # oneman4u.info #

  • l0l my dad used to know terry when he lived in liverpool, he lived in a flat above a shop!

  • @Sharpsthedrummer he hasn't...

  • Harry Cook's moves in the kumite portion of the video look pathetic

  • GSP style! great video

  • great video!

  • I used to have the whole Budo-sai TV show on Video, has any one got a copy,

  • hes so cool!

  • Lolz Hes doing a seminar on sunday and im going! YAY ME

  • why are his stances so wobbly and is his back foot in front stances so unstable? Now all the people who dont like 'constructive criticism' jump on me :)

  • @hippocanjump agreee! if you notice in his heian nidan when doing the 2nd kiba dachi shuto uke he pulls back his front leg before advancing to the next shuto uke in kiba dachi. also, his blocks have the wrong form, his age uke is too high and his soto uke is too high with elbow not close to the side of the body. his zenkutsu dachi and fudo dachi seem too high and the knee seems tend to stick outward.

  • @christianbrecht agree but this i noticed at high level black belts they star to "naturalize " the moves ... sensei kanazawa almost stands upright , sensei miura almost doesn't do the blocks just slightly channeles the hit .... my sensei told me to learn everything to perfection till it starts to stray away from practicality ... forms must be efficient when they don't suite you anymore change them very slightly ... you have to admit that he is good though

  • @TheSamaell No I dont think Kanazawa almost stands upright, his form is still quite close to exact JKA form, but SKI kihon is modified JKA kihon. Its not "naturalized". I feel that such a justification is often said to justify plain and simple mistakes.

  • @christianbrecht some differences might be attributed to the master that passed it on and the federation standards ... i don't want to say something out of place but i feel that the way we look at the same techniques is starting to change(in general not to us who are speaking )example i was taught the same jk passed down from sensei Manabu Murakami to my sensei's but the federation rules and standards have changed 3 time since i started it's confusing to learn something and then have to adapt

  • @hippocanjump im not going to jump on you :)) but i am going to answer you .. he actually has excellent stances 1 wobbly NO ! you have to be relaxed in a stance going stiff so it looks like you are like a rock is wrong and dangerous for you ( i have the same problem .. over trying to seem strong .. Be like water says the master :) ) and 2 the back foot is not unstable, in front stance the weight is distributed almost 80% on the front foot leaving the back one just to push the hip in the hit ;)

  • @TheSamaell his stances wobble because his lower part of the body/feet/knees continues to move after he has finished his kime with the upper part. Just observing the facts.

  • Crikey, he moved very fluidly for such a big man. Not often you see that degree of flexibility and ease of movement, let alone in a fella built like a tractor.

  • I doubt that, if he were competing these days, he would win many kata tournaments. But if I was in a street fight I'd rather have one Terry O'Neil by my side helping me than a hundred modern kata competitors.

  • LOL

Terry still owes me a full year of his 'fighting arts' magazine...

  • he reminds me so much of pat roche, bomber from auf wiedersehn pet who was a wrestler

  • how very interesting although if you notice the kizami zuki in 0:53 had no target and the aim was in the air

  • @Jerryffs yah but that's kizami zuki i think was eventually for a counter attack from a jodan technique

  • Look at that physique, there's a body built for martial arts!

  • you wanna know about the legend that is terry o'niell, read working with warriors and you will know!!! this man while working on the doors of liverpool would kick people in the head for fun! he could kick four people in the head one after the other without putting his kicking leg on the floor between kicks! why there isnt a film about this mans life is beyond me!!!

  • @chunkysupreme thats just being a bully not at all what shotokan is all about

  • @putty2812 when i said for fun the ppl hed kick wud be his mates workin on the doors with him. and all the others deserved it. you go and work on the doors in liverpool and see if you call it bein a bully, sometimes talkin dont work

  • @chunkysupreme ok fair enough if it was his friends but you didnt say that in your comment but maybe i shouldnt assume so we will let that one fly, all the best

  • thats my father youre talking about..not a bully.

  • @HIPSlird Hi Hannah! Thanks for posting on the footage of your Father. I'm sure he has the footage of the Budo Sai and if not, I hope he enjoys the uploads here? Fighting Arts was and still is a great magazine. Please pass on my regards, Sundome1

  • i got a really funny story about terry.me and my mate had turned 4 one of the lessons of the spring kararte course and terry says 2 my mate wheres ur membership card ? my mate started going through his sports bag 2 find his license but he turned and said 2 sensei terry that he didnt have it, then terry told him 2 get out of the dojo then my mate walked in dissapointment. then terry turned 2 me and burst out laughing and ill never 4get the day terry o'neill made a fool out of my best friend.

  • @stefrees10 Was your mate allowed to come back inside afterwards?

  • @mofotax Ye he was, he was really embarased!!!!

  • @stefrees10 i dont know terry personally and ive never met him but ive read about him plenty. and thats terrys sense of humour mate the guys mad, he loves a good stitch up, i read once that he wud kick his mates in the head for a laugh on the doors. but also if there were 3 or 4 guys coming at u after closing time coz u kicked em out, terry wud push you to the side and say dont worry mate ill sort it theres only a few of em! and hed go thru em like a knife thru butter!

  • @chunkysupreme ye man hes a really cool guy and i read when he buys new trousers he like 2 make sure he can kick in them be4 he buys them :) and i also read he knocked out 3 guys with 3 kicks with out putting his foot down after each kick thats amazing !!!!

  • @stefrees10 legendary, the stories about him are amazing, and the best part of the stories are that theyre never told by terry but the witnesses! i wish i was a film producer or director, a film about terry would make millions in the first week. and hes got the contacts, hes worked with arnold schwarzeneggar! i think it wud be film of the century

  • Amazing skills!

  • now there was a kareteka, legend in his lifetime,

  • Liked It!

    Oss!

  • shotokan way!!!

  • best of the best. the old school. clear explen. traditionel karate. oss. bow.
