@theleadinbrumie haha someone got it, the powerband is just..so much harder hitting, you hit the band and your front wheel is eye level with you while a kx wont come up to high and you can feel it coming more..

my 02 kx is way faster that my friends 01 yz.

kx factory hp was 56 in 02 and was 41 for yz

@xtabuasx when your dealing with two strokes, its basicaly picking a color. thay are all identical in power and handling, im a yamaha man but i like the frame better on the honda. but to date with both 4 stroke and 2 stroke motocross bikes, its all personal preference. they are all identical.

05 or later grab a yz250. Yamaha put in an aluminum frame in 05. Any cr after 02 had a weaker engine and since the yamaha got the aluminum frame in 05 i would say its a better bike.

doesn't really matter, they are all awesome, they all have great power, some may have more bottom end, others more top end, just look at em all, and sit on em, check em out and find which one you are most comfortable on.

obviously this jules guy doesnt know what hes talking about.sure it costs more to redo the motor in a fourstroke. it costed me 1400 bucks to redo the motor in my YZ450F and it costed my buddy 300 to redo the motor in his CR250. but the thing is, you will have to redo the motor in a 2 stroke way more than a 4. probably 3 or 4 times or more to a four strokes one. i know from experience. and 2 strokes are still made, yamaha is the only Japanese company that still makes them. i dunno a unhealthy cr or kx 500 wouldnt beat a 250 in a 300 ft streight, witch is how long most dirt frags r, i beat a pig of a cr 500 on my bone stock kx 250 in a 300 ft streight. of corse had the track been a nother 100 ft or so it would have been the other way around

i would expect somewhere around 70mph right in there 5th gear w/ a 13t front. im just guessin but theyre geared more for acceleration. just get a large front sprocket(like 17t HUGE) for a real high top speed.
