    Question, after makeing bbq sauce, how long do ya think it will keep?? (if i make enough so i DONT use it all in 1-2 days!)

  • hey ozinkent, thanks for those kind words. We keep xtra marinades and sauces in glass jars in the refridge for up to a few weeks, if they last that long! -BBQ Pit Boys

  • @ozinkent Yeah agreed, fellow Aussie here. The Americans really have BBQ'ing down to a fine art. Just have to use a thermometer with Celsius and farenheit and you're good.  (Farenheit doesn't make sense when you have been raised on Celsius all your life :)

  • Definately Charcoal. Nothing is Manlier , than Burning things into ashes

  • Charcoal is harder to cook with, but makes for better flavor.

  • If you've got more time and don't mind the mess, go for charcoal - tastes way better. But propane gives you more flexibility for heat settings, and is way faster to get a meal rolling. I use propane just cause it's faster; I'd rather BBQ on wood or charcoal but no time : (

    Also, I'd like to know, how strong will the Jack flavor be or will you taste it at all? I'm aware the longer it marinates the stronger it'd be, but after 1-2 hrs is there a distinct whiskey flavor?

    the JD flavor from those old smoked oak barrels will come through strong......like a shot or two per steak...an hour works real good, but longer may get you a DUI ... -BBQ Pit Boys
