His commercial/art angle is annoying, but at JB understands the relationships within hip hop and is creating his own place within it. His 'competition' seemed to following what has already been done. If they were artists they certainly weren't self aware. JB may not be great, he is very conscious of and deliberate in what he everything he does.

Shamrock does fit the description of a good southern rapper, but yes, John Brown spit an amazing 16 in the finale, and his song was a bit better too. However, stage presence is very important for rappers and that's what killed JB. Neither JB or Sham were the best though.

JB was the only talent on the show with content in his lyrics. The extent of $hamrock creative voice was telling people his hometown. All Persia could do was hate, the rest were filler and stereotypes.
