Those are terrible for your joints. There are safer plyometric exercises that when combined with proper barbell lifts, will increase jump height faster and safer.
@canitasteyou321 But if you had general knowledge about the athletes who use this exercise you would know it wasn't harmful. Many olympic athletes including usain bolt do this, and it hasn't caused them any problems.

Muscle soreness does not indicate the quality of an exercise. If you had a decent understanding of physical biomechanics, you'd know that.
