fullmer basillio marciano. can't believe people still say boxing is dominated by "slick" black fighters. im not a racist by the way i got plenty of african and muslim friends and the fact that they are african and muslim isn't even a factor in our friendship. but i don't like people, for example, mayweather sr and hopkins, who say whites cannot box at all. its disrespectful.

Robinson was 40 or nearly 40 when this fight took place and he was waaaaay past his prime. Look at some of the combos he was throwing in this fight and think of what he looked like at welterweight when he was at his peak!

I see George Gainsford pushes Fullmer away from his fighter Robinson after Fullmer takes an extra punch at Robinson at the end of the round. [Gainsford is black, the tallest person there].
Fullmer really staggered Robinson with that right hand. After the beating Robinson took there the fight was basically over, even if Robinson managed to continue.

Gene Fullmer is one of the best boxers in history. Fighting dirty is biting someone's ear off... NOT beating the crap out of someone.

Look, I love Sugar Ray. But Fullmer did hit harder and score more often in that fight. That was a clean win.

yeah Fullmer hit hard but Robinson boxed very well and threw very nice combinations. if you ask me...Robinson hit equally hard..just faster punches threw.

by this point SRR was damn near 20 years into a career. He was really on the downhill by this time. And that's taking nothing away from GENE FULLMER. Robinson was way past his prime here. He shoulda been outta the game after JOEY MAXIM or even before then.
