But i would have been totally exposed had somebody seen me. The shaft was surrounded by the mesh yo usee in really old lifts, and would have been hard to explain away why i was on top of the lift car. But another thing is making me laugh just now! if you leave the lift on inspection mode, some poor bugger presses the button, and wonders why the lift takes all day to reach the 25th floor ROFL

You haven't seen dirty until you're in an old hoistway with a MG set right above it and everything is covered in graphite dust from MG-set brushes.
