  • A girl I once dated told me this summed up our relationship.

Those were some of the most dysfunctional few months of my life.

    Beautiful song nonetheless.

  • Is it supposed to sound static-y? Not that I don't like it, though ;)

  • I need that umbrella.

  • @TheHeavyMetalGuy

what no dont thumb me up you dumb pricks

  • @TheHeavyMetalGuy hahaha

  • this is so good! sounds bruce springsteen-ish

  • "What in the hell is this song, it's amazing." - Win Butler

  • @foolkillerx :DDDD

When he's excited, he always says "what the hell" ,as he did when they won the 2 grammies

  • @foolkillerx <3 their cover is great

  • should be called 'me hearty fields'

  • This video would have been better with Rachael Madow

  • Arcade Fire's version is nice too... good song...

  • @JBombGainer always props to the original song writers, but yeah, the AF version is just stellar, they're excellent musicians and performers.

  • The Mild Revolution do a really good cover of this song I think. Look them up. They're actually on the right side of the page in related videos.

  • @probber66, the arcade fire did a cover of it

  • @Zalledo it's just Arcade Fire...not the

  • yay stephin merritt!

  • If you recognize the tune: Quand Le Soleil Dit Bonjour Aux Montagnes

  • @SwampThizzle That's not the same tune... it's just similar to a standard country & western melody and rhythm that's used by countless songs over the years. It's a style often used.

  • no, this is DEFINITELY 100% a magnetic fields song.

  • good arcade fire cover?

  • song is by Magnetic Fields

  • @probber66 arcade firs covers this, yea

  • im not sure who did it first. this is worse than the time that don henly covered that ataris song

  • It's from The Magnetic Fields 1994 album "The Charm of The Highway Strip"

  • @probber66 Magnetic Fields did this in 1994. Arcade Fire's anemic version is nothing compared to this...

  • @probber66 I think everyone reading your comments are completely overlooking the subtlety of your sarcasm

  • Looks like the same woman from the "Strange Powers" video. She captures the mock-serious tone of the song well.

  • A lesbian friend of the band-not the cellist

  • probably because I am an old drag queen. You are right tho'...'tis not an important fact

  • I think it was on funeral

  • Who is that? I've always wondered. They were on the album cover of 'Get Lost,' right?

  • I think so... or someone with a very similar face and glasses... it may be the cellist... i forget the name.
