  • how well do i remember this logo brings back memires.

  • When I was a kid, I use to refer to the NBC peacock as "the walla-la-wa," because of that little flute run at the end.

  • As seen on "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." and "Star Trek".

  • Качество офигиненное!!!

  • If the Peacock really means as much to the company as they say it does, they'd air this before every nationally broadcast NBC program throughout 2012.

  • i thought it was really cool and thoughtful of Conan and his writers to use this for their first Tonight Show.

  • @blastywasty Same!

  • You know, when you think about it, color television was an amazing invention. Taking that analog black and white system and then adding color information to it without causing everyone to have to change frequencies or black and white sets... ingenious!

  • Absolutely best resolution I've seen.

  • What does Laramie mean?

  • @clarkekiss Laramie was a show that aired on NBC from 1959 to 1963, and this updated version of the peacock was introduced before an episode at the beginning of the last season.

  • @7pledger Thanks!

  • I remember this peacock. Too bad I was watching on a black and white set.

  • *sigh* Look at the pretty colors

  • What show was this taken from, anyway? It's clearer than any I've seen yet.

  • This logo has more artistic value than some feature films I've seen.

  • The composer of that logo music, btw, is by a Mexican composer by the name of Carlos Surinac.

  • Absolutely brilliant logo from the golden age of design!

  • Now THAT was THE way to sell color TV's! I remember it warmly.

  • If only we could find a version without the narration ... I'd love to hear it with just the music.

  • I remember this from virtually every night of my childhood, growing up in the 60's! Thanks for posting.

  • The best color/colour indent from the 1960s.

  • This looks almost HD. I believe the peacock used on the first Tonight Show with Conan o'Brien wasn't so clear as this one is.

  • I remember Conan put this at the beginning of his first ep of the Tonight Show as a nod to Johnny Carson. Nice touch. :)

  • W-o-w I this brings back memories of me as a little girl under 10 years old, with my barbies and also good tv

  • the greatest peacock of them all !!!!

  • It most likely was the original copy introduced during the 1962-63 season, while it was dubbed over so many times later in the 60's and into the 70's which would explain the clarity of it.

  • The Late Mel Brandt was in great voice on this logo! His voice could also be heard on NBC's "THe Doctors" which was sponsered by Colgate Palmolive Company, and ran for years til it was cancelled.Today,a show called The Doctors but not a soap airs on some NBC Stations.Brainy,Brainman Media

  • I miss the Laramie Pelicans, myself. Not as graceful as the Peacocks, granted... but still rather draw-jopping. I mean, jaw-dropping. That's the beer typing, I'm sorry.

  • That is one cool peacock! I love the woodwind-based music. Very retro.

  • @TelephoneRock4ever I agree with You This Classic NBC Peacock is the greatest logo ever used in TV. I love the music I do not know what about it was so scary to so many people

  • @Joe49er1964 probably because of the music itself

  • Very Very stunning!

  • I remember this when I was around 6 six years old. Startrek, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Bonanza and great others before the show!

  • it was so awesome, all the great NBC shows of the time - Star Trek, I Dream of Jeannie, Julia, I Spy, Get Smart, etc-

  • I remember as a kid, it was fun to watch that colored peacock on TV with the lights off - I was so glad when NBC revised the peacock logo in 1979-

  • that takes me back to my childhood in the 1960s. the NBC peacock was very beautiful back then

  • they didnt start this intro to shows on nbc till 1965. But still, It has really good colors though.

  • Definitely the best of all the Laramie Peacocks I have seen.
