You will notice when you make your approach to Bancfoft how unusual it it for Southern Ontario, it's a real cool place to fly to.

The runway is 2500 feet long. The actual surface is compacted gravel. This is one unusual airport for Ontario because of the raise in the terrain. The landing itself requires little more concentration on my part, because there is a little more visual stimulus then what I'm used to.

Do you fly there very often?

My mom has a friend that owns a cottage on Lake Weslemkoon, its about half an hour drive from there.

That was my only second time there in the 15 years that I've been flying.

It took 1h 20min of flight time to get to Bancroft from Brampton Airport.

The Bancroft Airport is a public airport. It's owned and operated by the Bancroft Flying Club. Anyone can land there without asking for permission. It is listed both on the navigation charts (maps) and in the CFS (Canada Flight Supplement). The CFS lists all of the airports, and heliports, in Canada. It gives runway layout, lengths, airport frequency, fuels available, and all other important information that a pilot needs for a safe flight.
