Walt was a perfectionist. Walt made Pinocchio. Walt did this.... Walt did that.... Oh yeah, and over 700 artists! I believe Pinocchio was originally a story book, so beats me how "Walt came up with Pinocchio"
I wonder how this all-too-short special will stack up against the seemingly more solid look at the movie coming out on the upcoming Platinum DVD? That one will beat this one handily, I'll bet.
Elabari...Snow White is a fairy tale that has versions in almost all European countires. The Brothers Grimm pieced together their definitve tale based on bits and pieces from them. Carlo Collodi originally wrote Pinocchio (late 1800's).
Disney adapted each of the stories to make them better suited for animation.
I want to be like Walt Disney when I grow up.. you'll all see...Because I have studied all the biography of Disney and drawings of Pinocchio and all the movies he had created...and animated!
R.I.P. Cliff Edwards. I'll also miss you and your funny phrase you said in the movie, "You buttered your bread. Now sleep in it". LOL at Jiminy Cricket saying "You buttered your bread. Now sleep in it." My dad was 5 or 6 yrs. old when he saw Pinocchio in the theatres before it came out on video/VHS and DVD. The ride Pinocchio's Daring Journey is 1 of my other favorites at Disneyland and it rocks.
I certainly hope that when Pinocchio is released on the Platinum DVD line (it's been planned for it for a long time), it gets a MUCH longer "making-of" documentary than this one, like say one clocking in at least half an hour.
It is one of the special features on the UK Pinocchio Special Edition DVD release! Please watch out I will be listing all other Disney classics 'Making ofs'

is that a Star Wars Rebellion Symbol pin on his suit?! 3:09
conker2756 2 years ago
It's actually a Mickey Mouse pin on Ward Kimball's suit.
jvfunn3000 2 years ago
If it is, then Star wars must've gotten the idea here, since Star Wars wasn't created until about 20 years later after pinocchio X3

It is impossble to be a perfectionist nowdays when there's soooo much that says you have to do it as fast as possble!
Eeveryone knows that perfections takes really alot of time!

Jiminy Cricket left us in either 1969 or
1970. He also co-hosted a local NYC late night old
movie"Night Owl Theater"with Joe Bolton on
WPIX TV Ch.11 in 1949.

HAHA yeah OK.

Pinocchio hasn't been on youtube complete yet.
ComedyStuff76 3 years ago
Walt himself was too original to repeat the formula of a past success. *sigh* If only folks running his empire NOW had the same sort of insight. <:(

I agree. That's what they did with the Peter Pan Platinum Edition. They only repeated the 1998 VHS 15 minute featurette.
