Hi - I'm the guy that wrote those scripts. There's no need to run ffmpegreverse first, ffmpegin sorts everything out for you. Also, there's a new version on the google code page, that allows ffmpegup to run using a config file so it runs without any user action, so you can run it via cron.
Finally, it's best not to use the version from mediabuntu, since the FFmpeg devs only support SVN versions, which this installs.
FYI: compiling takes about 10 mins on an Intel 2Ghz Core 2 Duo.
@HDErikBlog pretty much, the only disadvantage is that mediabuntu installs an older version of FFmpeg, thus you wont have the latest features and if you want any support from the FFmpeg developers, they only give it to people running the latest version which mediabuntu doens't install - my script does however.
I don't get these codec things. I never seem to have all of them, even after I get all the gsstreamer ones, I always need more to watch a dvd or something. Does that script install ALL of them?
@AndroidAdvocate He doesn't (from what is in his videos) know about Linux in general, but rather Ubuntu. Don't get me wrong, these videos are pretty amazing.
wow what have you done? your ubuntu is fucking beautiful, how did you make the terminal like that and also the mouse?
