i can see why he chose to take it off his album because you can argue it doesn't flow with the rest of his songs [i guess] but i love this song [ was obsessed with beyonce's version and was so pumped when i found this ] and it would be great if he had just so there was at least a slight chance that he'd play this again live.

You can't say one is better then the other one.

Everyone does it in his own way. So, you can't compare. I love his version, because of HIS voice, and i love Beyoncé's version because of HER voice and the passion she puts in to.

I can´t agree with you either, beyonce has a good voice and jon´s voice is amazing too, but they both has different type of voices, so both version has to sound different too, beyonce´s song is good an passioned, but jon´s made so much mystical and inspiring.

I like both versions anyway

It wouldn't be on iTunes because Jon didn't release this song. He took it off his album at the last minute and the rights were sold to Beyonce. I'm sure you could find/download his version of it somewhere if you looked, though.

@jollyholiday The song was written by 'The Dream' Jon never had the song.. The Dream is an artist on Def Jam.. Jay-Z at the time was President @ Def Jam.. not to hard to get a record placed on Beyonce's album...

This is awesome! Though the live version a whole lot different than the album one. I saw him at the Bowery last monday. He played at least 6 songs on guitar and the rest on keyboard, half and half
