@MypandaAndJenee yes, i read in an article that you are supposed to cleanse the area then apply a light amount of baby powder or cornstarch then apply wax to the area
@MARSALIBI I've been watching sugaring videos for the last hour. For some reason you're supposed to do the opposite of waxing in application. Which is apply the sugar against the hair growth and pull with it. Go figure.
@TheVynne not really, sugar waxing, hard wax, soft wax.. no matter what kind of waxing method you use, you are supposed to pull in the opposite direction of hair growth
I made a recipe I found that contained 1/4 water, 1/4 lemon juice, and 1 cup of sugar and it didn't work! It was too hard. Could you please tell me if you use brown sugar or regular kind? I used half of both since I din't have enough white sugar. Thanks!
I bought the sugar ( sweet) block from a pharmacy here in egypt but it kept sticking to my fingers and not my skin on my legs. I just couldnt get the knack.
Good tutorial but usually u should spread the wax in the direction of the hair growth ( on shins that's down towards toes) then rip off against the direction of hair growth. You did opposite which wouldn't pull the hair out by the roots, you would have just been breaking the hair off at the skin level
@MARSALIBI I also tweeze that way. It is actually less likely to break the hair in my humble experience and less painful. If your wax isn't good, it may not hold on well enough the way I do it and maybe that's why it would break the hair. However, I've never had that problem. Even my thinner hairs pull out just fine. I can see the roots attached.
I used the same recipe that you used, it turned the dark amber color but it is still much too sticky, is there any way I can save it so I don't have to make a whole new batch?
Simmer mixture over a medium heat about 15 minutes until it turns amber (orangy brown color, like whisky) . Pour in a ceramic or glass microwave safe container, do not use plastic, it will melt. Cool it off, and you can use it either like this or with the strip method like wax... it works great
Cancel or Post Yes and yes. It requires a little practice at ftrst because working with paste is a little different than wax. You get used to it and then it's better. You can make a thinner mix by cutting to two thirds or half the sugar and use it like wax if you like strips better. @TheBeautyFlower1
@nadamonismua Press it firmly against your skin and smooth it slowly. Your body heat should cause it to melt a little and it will grab your hair. If not, melt it a little in the microwave.
Quick question....can this be used 'everywhere' if ya know what I mean? And how long can one batch be kept for, does it have to be kept in the fridge?
@SuperDOJ Yes, it can. I just found a batch I made two months ago, stuck it in the microwave and it worked great. I would suggest the fridge, but I've left one out for a few days before and it still worked fine. The weather was stable and mild. Probably not a good idea if it's really hot.
@xxladybug94 Yes, but I think it hurts a little less because you pull with the direction of hair instead of against it. Yes, it will work basically anywhere.
@xxladybug94 No, it works better. It actually tends to grab hold of hairs that are much shorter than what conventional wax grabs. It's really good stuff.
is this sugaring paste homemade? we in greece make paste like this but its not made from sugar,if u like i can give you the recipie.by the way if you remove this paste from down to up against the hair growth it will remove hair much better.
@calmman45 Homemade with sugar, water, and lemon. 2 cups sugar, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1/4 cup water. 3 cups of sugar if the weather is really hot. I cook it over the stove. Actually, I pull with the direction of hair because it works better. The sugar paste works really well, so it grabs the hair regardless of direction. If you pull the other way (against), sometimes it breaks the hair instead of removing it and it hurts more and seems to cause more ingrown hairs.
@MarriedaMonkey ty,from wich country u r ?is it hot like greece,u can make a good paste by boiling honey in a pan for 3 mnts with non stop shaking then add it on a cold service then use it after 10 mnts, its v good try it and tell me
@calmman45 I made it to link to another site where I was teaching other people about sugaring and how to use it. I like to do things myself for cheap or free. So I taught myself how to do a lot of things using common sense, Google, and YouTube. I compile my information and experiences and make them available as a learning resource to help other people become more self-sufficient, confident, and happy while saving money and being more environmentally friendly. That's my worldly contribution. :)
@calmman45 Okay, well, thanks. Unfortunately, I've come down with a rather sever, incurable case of "married", if you know what I mean. I assume it's terminal ;D
@calmman45 I mean that you should probably check a woman's relationship status before you start writing things like "u r so sexy" and "it turns me on a lot" on her page. Although to be honest, even a single woman may find that rather strong for a what I would like to assume was simple flattering compliment.
@calmman45 Sorry, dude. I don't do the online friends thing. Especially not after the whole sugaring fetish issue. You know, I sugar so I consider that an issue.

@MARSALIBI with sugaring you have to spead the wax against the direction of the hair growth...it does pull it but the roots...
