Excellent demonstration and tutorial. I was banging my head against the wall on this....Now if you could just produce a video to teach me how to make my Andriod phone or iPad2 be able to control the Bluray player!
Your video is very good but my Sony BDP-S570 Blue-Ray can see the servers & folders, but keeps giving the message "No playable file". I can play the same files off the USB connection but not from network. The latest firmware has not fixed the problem.
Mine doesn't show an unknown device.. I've been through the internet setup multiple times and when I perform the network test it shows that all is correct.. Please Help!!
As long as you use Windows Media player the setup will be very similar. Windows Vista is a little more challenging because of all the security parameters. Windows XP is a breeze. There are other media players that work via DLNA but I find the Windows Media player to be the easiest. Make sure you have the most up to date Windows Media player as well. Hope that helps.
I would suggest to leave it on the 1080i setting as the Blu-Ray player will default to either 720p or 1080i depending on how the Blu-Ray movie was mastered. Enjoy!
.I have 37' JVC LCD TV w/ 720p output but the setup menu on S560 reads it as 1080i. which setting should I use. if it matters am using Monster HDMI cable

I couldn’t care less about photos! I brought it for playing films in Dolby Stereo Digital TrueHD 6/8channel.

Have you had any luck getting videos to play on your BDP? If so, what formats are you using?
