  • HOW TO SHIT ON A CLASSIC FIT AN ENGINE THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT !

  • im curious to see race between an AC Shelby Cobra 427ci vs your Datsun 240z 377ci .... ac shelby cobra 427 can develop 600hp too .....

  • I think half the fun of those old Z cars is just that they used nothing more than a six cylinder engine. Like the porshe, or old Power Wagons. Getting rid of the engine takes the magic away.

  • I dont know if I should bow down and offer this guy my soul, or be pissed as shit for violating such a beautiful Z. Wonderful job Jay she's gorgeous.

  • the best Z i've ever seen

  • Will make mine similar :D

  • Nice car! Looks like you did a great job!

  • This is great! I love my 240z. Right now im in process of stuffing a 468 in her. Im so tired of the fart can imports that think "loud = fast".

  • @tangledline Fuck you and anyone else who stuffs an american engine in a god damn 240z

  • @xXNukeMeXx Here is the real question. What the fuck are you gonna do about it? Not a damn thing but cry on the internet. Now go to your mommas basement and do everyone a favor and suck some lead.

  • @tangledline What the fuck am I gonna do? I'm buying a Datsun 280sx and a 260sx for 600$ and guess the fuck what. Im gonna make the 280sx a race car, but do It the right way by not shoving a dumb ass american engine in a perfect iconic jdm import. I do love muscle cars and the olders eras of cars, (gramp ownns 3 model a's) but its just disrespectful to shove a american made engine into a jdm import.

  • @xXNukeMeXx Hey fucktard. You are missing the whole point in your sentence. AMERICAN made meaning we can do whatever we want to these "Asian made" vehicles because we are in America. So you go on and enjoy your little habit but in the meantime let everyone else enjoy theirs as well. We live in America, not North Korea.

  • @tangledline Have fun with that. Cuz to be honest i can make a faster car with 10gs than you can

  • @xXNukeMeXx Stop talking and start putting up. In the meantime enjoy but most of all respect everyone else's videos until you "build your car" cause you cant talk shit if you don't have shit.

  • Where can i buy the SCCA wide body kit? Your Z is great man, hope to make mine half as good!

  • Is the body all Aluminum? I'm a Restorer and Gas Aluminum Welding is one of my specialties. I love the subframe you've built for this thing. Beautiful. BTW Why do people get so bent out of shape about "ruining" cars? THEY'RE JUST CARS! They'res Thousands of them, this is just ONE 240Z out of those thousands. Your IMPROVING not ruining. This car IS sick tho... I love seeing creations like this. How do you think Carol Shelby got so famous? Same thing! Great job man, keep it up!

  • Mini bat mobile :)

  • 凄い240zですね!!

  • So what was the total of this car to get build? does any one have a clue?

  • where did u get the rims & what size r they? i`m doing a 280. ill b putting a 302 twin turbo in it.

  • Nice Z I realy like the YZ kit did a search for them and found the kit kits they have look cool but are they on the level business legitatement looked like they have had several owners so am kinda afraird to buy and not get .I like the smc swaps but also wouldnt mind a tt motor either just alot more hassle and comput issues to go wrong for me to bother with

  • great job perfect way to ruin an already bad ass car....why do people need to mess with something that was already great...its a good job but why destroy a 240 buy a 280 and destroy it build it out of a 280 2+2 no one cares about those....i hate it when people do this...another thing that annoys me is stupid jdm kids that always ask me why dont you put an rb in your z ...(my response)why dont you buy one and do it

  • What kind of body kit is it? i have a 1970 datsun 240z and want to make something like that and i just love the stance of the car . it just looks bad ass. so help me out?

  • @kingofsomething24 The body kit is a modified version of the 280YZ from Reaction Research.com. Good luck with your build!

  • I know this project is a bit old but Was Wondering about the body.. I have a 76 280z and I love what you guys did with the front end actually the while car... All Custom Body Work? or is there specific places that sell Exterior Kits that are alike??

  • nice! all you missing is the bonnet with the birdcatcher... I've got a 240z and i did same conversion but mines is a street car

  • how could it have been nose heavy, if there was only 49.5 % up front?

  • Great build, a little drastic but I guess your building a race car, so its all in a great performance POV. You took some of the beauty from the lines of the car but this is all custom, nice! People need to get over the fact that Imports and Muscle have their own uniqueness and fighting over which one is better is a lost cause.

American Muscle Engines = Great Power

Japanese Sport cars = Great Handling/Lightweight

The combination of the 2 make sense, It is very tastefully done.

  • ilove how you push the motor bach in there ; )

  • I swear they need to put a Datsun engine on a classic Muscle to get them pissed off on ruining a car.

  • Man, you ruined a classic.

  • sik sik sik

  • I dont see him selling it anytime soon....my best bet is to find your own lol

  • Awesome job. Been watching for the updates and more vids for a few years now. Between yours and Darius' car very well done. I actually have been building mine for a while now. Just seems to take the back seat to other projects for all the wrong reasons. My hat's off to you.

  • alot of time, money, and engineering went into that chassis. some of the best chassis work i have seen in a long time. great vid thanks for sharing!

  • Nice work! How'd you get the suspension so tucked?

  • @TheOmegaeyes pretty much only easily possible having a full tube chassis

  • Is that body kit purchasable?

  • beautiful car, perfect song

  • Mister HolaMan I think the car is cool. I'd love to have it. You do a good job of not letting punks get to you, enjoy your ride.

  • What made you choose a carb instead of FI, especially given all the money you have apparently thrown into it? Easier to tune and lends itself to more power modifications...i.e. forced induction, Come join us in the 21st century.

  • Carb is better for wot, and no wiring needed.

  • @MisterHolaMan

if you know ANYTHING about wiring, FI is easier to set up. FI is more fuel efficient, FI provides better throttle response and has no mechanical parts to have to keep in tune...it's all done through the ECU.

C'mon man, the fact that NO current production car still uses a carb should tell you volumes.

  • Dude, I said WOT. Everything you said is true, but carb is still better for wide open, like in drag racing. That's why they have carb conversions for modern day LS engines and all that stuff.

  • @MisterHolaMan

    PART 1:

As we all know (except for you MisterHolaMan) the amount of air pulled through the venture of a carb. is what determines how much fuel is needed to flow through the jets. One problem with this is that most carbed vehicles feed multiple cylinders with one carb barrel. A carb cannot meter the correct AFR (air fuel ratio) needed to obtain maximum power because the VE is not the same on both cylinders.

    Part 2 coming up...

  • @RMBmike you seem well read , but fi has its sortcomings. By virtue of the fuel traveling through the runners(aka distance) the droplets divide, multiple times in fact. the a/f mixture is actually more homologous in a carb setup, barring puddling. it may well be rich or lean, but it is a more uniform mixture. Look to barry grant for some carb intake setups that rival the uniformity of f/i

  • @MisterHolaMan

The MAP sensor monitors the changes of intake vacuum and pressure due to engine load and throttle plate position.

There is no way to obtain optimum AFR with a carb.

In conclusion, to make optimum horse power

you must have optimum fuel mixture.

But you go ahead and hang on to your WOT argument.

  • I do like FI better, but I'm just stating a couple facts. There are carb conversions out there for a reason.

  • thats a tiny ass engine..sweet car

  • this car was better than a porsche in its day and not every one wants a porsche anyway .

  • I bet it was.

But that doesn't change the fact that these guys obviously didn't grow up with money, because they clearly don't know how to live rich.

This is like some redneck getting $300,000 and spending it on modifying his iroc Z and customizing it for no reason...

Best to have people from a factory do this stuff and have decent things

  • Don't try to tell other people how to spend their money dude, they know what they're doing.

  • 1, i know the the guy that owns this car, and he is not rich, 2. fuck porsche!!!

  • @zombiesnatcher82

anybody here kno if he wans to sale it ????

  • Spoont

  • DAMN that's a wicked machine!!!

  • you can build a fucking chrome-moly and fiberglass car but you cant get a sbc to run? ._.

  • The car runs and drives around and gets on the dyno in Part 2.

  • Comment removed

  • Where did you get the front and rear fender flares? Are they custom made? What size? 3 inch or 4 inch? Looks great. Would love to get the specs on your ride. Rebuilding my Z and really interested in what you have done.

  • Well, it used to be a Z...

  • dude. this car's a baddass

  • And that, my friends, is tuning done RIGHT.

Keeping the weight now, near 50-50 distribution whith a muscle-car engine.

    Hats off.

  • WOW.

  • "pretty good power" talk about the understatement of the year! sick caR MAN! KEEP IT UP!

  • extremely professional...but wheres the 240z...it doesnt really exist anymore. Dont get me wrong...this is one hell of a car!!! Great job dude.

  • Those wheels are what you call snug. That engine is what you call snug.

  • this car makes my pee pee hard!!!!

  • bad ass

  • This is the most worthless vid...know why?

    1) He talks and talk and talks even though everything he says is already in the description. We want to see the car, not you...sorry.

    2) He doesn't DRIVE THE CAR!!!

  • Relax, chief...

1.) There's over five minutes of car footage and less than one minute of talking. Get over it.

2.) This is "Part 1." He DRIVES THE CAR!!! in "Part 2."

  • You're right.

But I still like the other videos better, like the one shot in Havana in 2008. I'll wait till he gets the car finished and actually takes it out on the road.

Thanks for the heads up on Part 2.

PS: Joe The Plumber is an idiot...pick another hero LOL.

  • the body kit looks alot like the 280yz kit from ReactionResearch (dot) c0m. But it doesn't look exactly the same. Im just taking a wild guess.

  • I loooooveee the car you did the damn thing i am trying to put gether 6.0l hoping for 650

  • dude where did you get the wide body kit

  • that is a very nice vehicle, sexy to be exact, with the nose heavy issue,i have the same problem with th 2jz in a corolla, stiff the front and soft the back for a good launch,eibach..

  • i nuted my self

  • RB26dett would be nice, but alot more money. A Rebello 2.8 would be nice too.

  • My Chemical Romance's version of this song is better :D

  • MCR does a Misfits song better than the actual Misfits?

    Wow. Really?

I thought they were a band for 12 year-old goth girls!

  • Its probably cause Im used to MCR's version. I just found out the other day MCR remade it and it wasnt originally theirs.

Im starting to like this version better now.

  • no its not...

  • its has a nice muscle sound to it but i'd rather put a 240 engine would sound better in my opinion

  • 240 turbo all the way or Mikuni carbs. JDM power.

  • By far the best 240z I have ever seen!!!!

  • i'm shocked with the video. great job and very very nice car. I'm from spain and here all people have shit diesel cars (except me, of course). congratulations and thanks for making that fantastic marvel on wheels

  • For those asking, that's a Reaction Research YZ widebody kit.

  • Pretty nice. Could do with a paint job and a gud ol' RB26 instead of that yank V8 tho, wots the point of having such a long nose if u aint gonna fill it with engine? bit still.. bloody nice :)

  • weight balance. but a RB26DETT would look super sweet in a stock body

  • Ah tru tru. I got a 280zx myself and if I had time money and resources I'd love to do sumthing like this. Gud work

  • this is just fucking gorgeous!!! A+ man

  • dude where did you get the wide body kit thats sick

  • clean as fuck babie

  • Very nice Nissan, to tell the truth it reminds me of those old Porsches...cool car man.

  • Would you sell this Z car? let me know

  • im sad looking at that z like the skyline nissan look at the back and the twin mufflers like the z32 but the chevy engine block T.T i wanna say y, but finding a L2800 engine block isnt commen L2400 are kinda more commen but the rest of the z looks alright it just wont feel the same lol but other then that good job

  • "it just wont feel the same" your right it will feel bad ass instead of mediocre.

  • hey nice vid any1 know a site were i can purachse that widebody kit

    thank you

  • they were customized.its rare to find such at us or else, except japan

  • please sell it to me

  • you're the man! im loving the custom build almost everything haha, im extremely impressed by how far back that big chevy 350 sits.. lmao it sets back there like a sr20det

love the dual muffler system, the to teh point guages, roll bars. i think the rarest part here is the rear end. i never did like the 240z rear end, it looks alot better redone in sorta a skyline type way.

  • SCCA widebodies look great on 240Zs and first gen RX-7s. Great car, I love the no nonsense approach.

  • very nice work

  • Holy shit...

  • i love the body kits..... where did you get that and how much?

  • i would have used some vette tail lights since you went with the round ones anyway. and though i love the motor it does need a bit more bark in the sound. a lil more like the one i have in my videos. though seeing this makes me want mine back lol. i forgot how much i liked the 240 till i seen this

  • Pretty cool build. I wasnt sure about the front end at first but it grew on me. Those things just come alive with the rear fender flares on them.

  • tht is one bad car super clean !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sweet friggen' video. That thing looks so sexy and pures like a kittin.

  • hey just wondering did a guy from b.c help bild your car

  • really nice work there, looks tuff. like too see more future vids of this beast

  • nice work you done to the car, love it.

  • Might be the nicest overall package for a modded Z I have ever seen.

  • nice 240! Looks like a Porsche from the side and a corvette from the back lol

  • I kinda liked the tail lights, kinda like a r32. I wish some one would give that kind of attention to a sr20 swap

  • I give the workmanship a 10 but the engine choice and tail lights a 1. So sick of the SBC violation. But that doesn't mean I don't wish you great luck in SCCA.

  • that 377 going in is going to be a very high reving v8 at 600hp naturally aspirated---

I belive that combination is the best one can do. unless he turbo's it! then that v8 will make well over 1000hp!!!

  • the car looks sick, but the tail lights gotta go man.

  • How is this project going, any updates? I'm planning on building something similiar. I love the body kit big wheels / tires combo, looks fantastic!

  • Check out youtube dot com slash 240roadracer

Quick video of this car running around a little bit.

  • I would like to know where the extra weight came from. It's said that 70-71 240s weighed in at 2300-2350 stock. It looks like you did some serious weight mods by gutting the interior, fiberglass panels, aluminum dash and other parts, no ac/heater, ect. Did the roll cage give you that much weight?

  • and swiss cheesed chassis. anyway i like the car with the exception of the rear lights. It looks great.

  • I have definately lightend the car but the roll cage is extensive. It's about 130lbs of additional weight. I have a small heater, interior, and the engine is all iron with a 50-60lb scatershield. When the race motor goes in it will lose me over 100lbs. The floor will be refit with honeycomb aircraft sheet to make it totally flat, and the trans tunnel will be aluminum. All of this will net a 225-250lb loss. The final weight will be 2100lbs with a 600hp motor. How does that sound?

  • It's absolutely stunning except for the tail lights. I really am a fan of the Z series tail lights. The vette scheme seems out of place.

  • windshiled.. optional... lol. how does this thing fare against the cobras in the slalom?

  • Front glass is coming, Lexan for the rest. I drove it for a 1/2 hour doing figure 8's last night to break in the diff. It turns like a muther, crazy acceleration, and the brakes are incredible. The Z should do over 1 lateral G so with its' balance and speed it should be very competitive in the slalom.

  • Bow Down.....awesome ride!

  • holy shit dude that came out great thanks for the hybridz reminder to check this out unbeliveable specialy the weight distribution how long did that take to calculate?! LOL great work dude hope to see it at a show soon!!!

  • Dedication, 5 yrs to build.

  • Very Nice and very clean!!! Excellent work...but I hate the tail lights..... :)

  • the most awesomest street z i have seen

  • Very seldom do my eyes see something as beautiful as this. AMAZING!

  • 2500 lbs. with a V8, WOW!!!

  • That car is flat out evil. Incredible work!

  • nice work. can't wait to see the finished product.

  • Jay! Sorry I missed this. You Rock!!!!!! There is no stopping the jayster now!!

  • Awsome work Jay! looking forward to seeing some videos of it on the track
