  • This is beautifully done. It touched audibly, visually, and emotionally. Great combination.

  • magical.

  • reflection is good

    ;)

  • I agree it is 'not rational' to be making art. Thankfully, artists are not driven by rational thoughts. If we were no one would make art, it is only once we have made something that we then see the rational behind it. Great video.

  • you inspire me.

  • @chrisnatti thank you Chris. Much appreciated! :)

  • Aesthetically so exquisite, beautifully executed, but more than that, I fully relate.

  • stunning, i am just thinking about what i heard someone say"what we have in america is freedom of choice, but what we really want is freedom from choice", we dont want the responsibility of the choices we make. easier if someone would make them for us, and if we do nothing, we still have made a choice. or something like that. great vid, j

  • Yes!

  • I saw this doco on James Gleeson yesterday and while watching your vid I thought you might like his work. He's an aussie surrealist. Some of your work reminds me of his. Hope you and yours are well. Nathan

  • My inner stuggles could be expressed the same way but then my inner struggle would be I have no original expressions left too give! The struggles of my life! :-(

    peaceouTy!

    TAMMpON

  • You have no original expressions?!! Haha, No way! You are such a genuine weirdo ( I mean that with total affection). I love your channel because you keep me inspired to just totally be myself. cheers!

  • Is this a bipolar high?

Good on ya for the message

  • I found this piece featured at AVDJ's channel.

    Quite an introduction, it is.

    Marvelous.

  • Maybe you are so far out because people need to be inspired to express themselves, release themselves. Who better to lead us toward the opening doors than someone with your sense of direction.

  • It's in that "far out" place that we meet! Great stuff eaglecrowowl!

  • Sister eaglecrowowl this true art as I have done the same thing.I do understand were you are coming from and we are all there with you.

Love to think and see the man behind the curtain.

Sister the tribes have taken the Name: the-ONE-party. I have always been in the party of the ONE You joined and connected with the group as an equal member. Be an individual and remain an individual, yet you must also think, act, and operate as part of a unified, harmonious group.Talk to later.Richard Greywolf

  • this is wodnerful... as always... well done my friend!

  • I had to watch this again....awesome!..find something new every time..

  • You dont need help ECO, you are Art and you express it well.

  • yikes! This reminds me to dance!

  • I love your mind- your expression. You wonder why you're "out there"- I'm glad you ARE.

  • Thoughtful and engaging!!! Much appreciation... and my hat's off to you. 5*****

  • very cool!

  • I LOVE the thought/audio overlapping.

    Perfect! 5 stars!

  • thank you so much taoworm23. Big smile!~~ :)

  • I was watching this one and really noticing the dancing. The freedom of your movements, expressing yourself, you are comfortable with you self. It reminds me of karate, when i would do my katas slowly, like a ballet, and good it felt to release my body from the prison of typical and restricted movements. Your dancing encourages others to let go, friendly and gracefull movements that feed the mind.... very nice..

  • thank you Earliam! Let's all release our bodies from the prison of typical and restricted movements!

  • best visuals ever! YAH!

the conspicuously missing hands make a big difference. I will hafta learn this dance when I get over my hernia, :)

    great job

  • Thank you AVDJ! That is the best comment I could hope for. For me, hands signify the act of creation and the handlessness symbolizes the struggle. That is why the "magician" conjures it all up with her hands at the very end of the video. So, I will expect you at my dance studio next Thursday, 4pm sharp, to teach you the dance. Haha. Hope you feel better soon. :)

  • hi eoc

stark and broody. initially disturbed by the handlessness of the dancing twins, i then remembered the tale of the handless maiden, in which a woman who loses her hands to the devil must go through an extremely difficult journey of self discovery; acquiring silver hands along the way. this beautiful piece you've created could be a look into her psyche.

  • very cool work c great imagery and vocals/editing

    :D

  • This is one of my favorites you have done! There is something you touched in me, that nicks what I have been going through in my life right now and the struggle back to life after a major impact and the choices and decisions that come with it. Thank you!

  • Beautifully made;)

  • So honest. Thank-you for sharing. You are constantly pushing your vlogs to the next level.

  • Far out, man. ;) I enjoy your expressions and your transparency in dealing with the issues of who you are - who we are together, and who we are alone. Nice diary entry. Thanks for letting us in on it. Lovely dancing, as usual, and the NIN music is a welcome addition. Who knew?!

  • Thank you so much Anita! I am glad you liked it! :)

  • Great work. Keep going out... really. Art needs it. Especially dance... it's stagnating in america and something needs to change.

    Thanks for your fantastic videos.

  • Thank you AsertyD! I am really happy with how the dance integrated into this piece. I love dancing in unison but as a solo artist, I had to cheat it a little.

  • Far out? I'll take a ticket. So much grounds us- mind locks us- bad news, locally, globally, under your roof, in your body (aches, pains & worry). If I wanted to do art that sells, I should be drawing squirrels with big, brown eyes. Or golf course landscapes. When I make art I shoot for something inner- look for some wonder to give back into the world. Existentially speaking, life has whatever meaning we give it. I'd like a little mythology on the side, thanks. As always, great vid!

  • Thank you ejp3art. I like how you describe what keeps us from going far out. It's so true. Art is scary but it is also healing. Sol LeWitt advised Eva Hess in a letter to make "more real nonsense" and that has always stuck with me. I didn't take nonsense to mean something silly, I took it to mean non rational. I am all for science and skepticism, but one also has to hone intuition. It's a form of intelligence. Cheers friend!

  • great video! there has to be purpose for our lives, what else are we alive for?

  • thank you Ozk3r. I think you are right. :)

  • This is one of my favorites.

I keep you on my scanner for a continual reminder that the art I enjoy making is okay. And I am sane.

You already are saving the world.

    Thank You.

  • Wow. Thank you onaga3. I am humbled. Every creative act is a risk and it means a lot to get a response like this.

  • It's awsome caren!

Great vid, I love the special effect

You vids have this power to... completely capture me :D

  • That is so nice Frida! Thank you.

  • LOl- "im trying to birth a crazy series of faces"

"AHHH im trying to have a family!"

    "help me!"

pulls grey hair our of head in fit of paranoia*

And yeah btw its cool to be far out...thats why this video is cool...far out man, far out......LMAO:-)

  • thank you mclarenv12 - much appreciated!

  • *speechless*

  • thank you JA - how fabulous!

  • internal dialogues...i should make a response to this! i have major internal dialogues!

  • Oh yes Owlphanumeric - please make a response. That would be killer diller! I can't wait.

  • I love that you continue to explore the meaning or art in the world, in you, in us, in society, in your head, and in your body. There's something amazingly therapeutic about your videos and also quite inspiring. You have a great way of touching something that is often intangible.

  • Thank you Hal. What a lovely comment. I feel so happy - what more could I hope for than to touch the intangible.

  • As a dancer, I love the movement you included with this monologue.

  • Thank you kittenstopmer - I appreciate that.

  • thank you JA! How fabulous!

  • have been there, maybe still there. sublime.

  • Thank you MathildaBrown. I am glad you can relate. :)

  • you keep amazing me, this is a great monologue and the movements together with your art really fits good, I like the darkness in it, GOOD entry my friend!!!

  • thanks for the share dudeanWalker! great project i knew nothing about. amazing.

  • thank you for checking out my video piaNOwarist! I am so glad you liked it. :)

  • Thank you Dudean! I like to explore all sides of the emotional spectrum but this is probably the most I have revealed about this side of things.

  • it's beginning to dawn in my head....

    AHA!

    YOU'RE a DANCER!

    (i think)

  • Hi Berry! I'm no longer trained and I can't kick very high anymore but I do love and need to dance.

  • Wow! I love your videos so much. Personally creativity and expression are pretty much every thing to me. It's the fact that in it's purest form art is choice for no other reason than choosing - there is no need at a practical level for it, no set destination - that makes it so important. I kinda feel that it's the most human(in a good way)thing we do. Once clean water, education, and civilization is sorted we break out the expression...I know what I mean.

    :o)

  • One hundred percent right on Smartbluecat! There is much that art can do in the service of other things, but first it must come and to come it needs freedom. I think it is where I have come to really understand what freedom is and why it is so fundamental to human happiness.

  • I'm no longer trained and I can't kick very high anymore but I do love and need to dance.

  • Great video. Listening to you reminded me of listening to Edie Sedgwick. The way that those videos were put together and her voice.

    Loved it.

  • Wow - thank you Vuji222 - That is a most unexpected and cool comparison.

  • Every single time I watch one of your vids like this one, my mind twirls in a dance beyond where it can normally even walk. And that new place never returns to the mist, it stays with me. I love it.

  • thank you Cliff. What a great comment. I am touched! :)

  • beautifully done

  • thank you ICTRP. I love what you stand for. :)

  • great edit great words great mouvement well done

  • thank you Genie. I really appreciate the great comment! :)

  • really interesting. Nice video :D

  • thank you Paul! I must go post on Tailcast! :)

  • Loving the layered audio. Such a good and honest message. I can totally identify. Very good mood and feel to the whole thing Caren.

Plus, the best synchronized dancing on YT! ;-D

    hehe

    Wonderful.

  • Thank you Dale! And didn't I get those two dancers moving in harmony!?! I really had to crack the whip, they were a little lazy, but I said, listen up sisters, this is important to me and many many people are going to watch. You had better get your moves down pat or else no more cheese sticks, ya hear! But really, I am so glad you could identity. Thank you. :)

  • Excellent!!!

  • thank you Ann!

  • you have done an incredible job of layering audio here. very pleasant and brings the concept of struggle across quite nicely and not just in what you are saying =) 5 stars =)

  • Thank you Gigi. I had that idea for a different video and then it worked so well here. I am glad you found it effective. Big smile!

  • Girlfrieeeeeeeeeend! You got the "watch in high quality option," baby! world is your oyster now. Keep bringing it on!

  • Thanks to you Restive I have finally mastered this most elusive of all powers. Now I shall rule the WORLD! Nothing can keep me and my filtered craziness down!!!

  • eagle!

  • rafa!

  • eagle? eagle! yea! our system worked

  • I love it that you're so far out. That means we are on the same page. Superb video about the inner struggle!

  • I am so happy to be on the same page as you Dali! Thank you.

  • always an experience.that music is great too.gives it a melancholic vibe.another great addition to a very impressive repertoire.you should be very proud.all the best.

  • thank you Ziggurini! You are right about the music. We are lucky that nine inch nails is making it available. It is clearly a huge part of why this works. I am grateful.

  • why am i so far out? is it the ghosts that i draw in my sleep, and the future i dream of when i am awake? so far out sometimes, that i forget the way back in. i think i know the way back... for me, it is somewhere in my pencil box, waiting for a hand.

  • yes, johnb, I agree, the way out and back in again is in the pencil box. I just have to go exploring and yet I often wonder, what am I doing here, all alone, in this wilderness. Ah, well, who knows. It can be hard but it definitely keeps life interesting! :)

  • Oh....You are such a modern dancer! : )I love it.

    Great video.

    Peace and Love,

    Angie

  • Woo hoo FGN! Thank you, I feel honored. I have been watching "So you think you can dance" and I am not up to those standards by a long shot. But I do enjoy dancing.

  • your thoughts are so damn real...I admire how much you bare your insides in all your videos but this one just hits the gut...this is excellent work..very moving!!!

  • thank you MIke. These are really really great comments and I appreciate hearing it so much I can't even tell you. Personally, I really like this video, but I worry if it has more universal appeal, so it it just the best feeling to have someone get it. I was feeling pretty crappy and maybe that worked out for me! I am not extroverted and am grateful that my thoughts come out as real. cheers friend! :)

  • I was just about to log out and i'm so glad i didn't...wow...this was very internal...definitely more of a dark mood then usual..this really gave me a feeling of connection...i love how you used your dancing in this..almost sad..and the combining of the inner voices struggling to a slow build...then just turning your head to the wall...yet you still had a hopeful ending...man you get pretty deep when you are in a downswing...i can relate to this very much..

  • You intrigue me.

  • thank you ii - how lovely to be intriguing!
