good games can't be made from one day to another, i would rather have them take their good time to think, design, feel, and make the next metroid as a metroid game is supposed to be, just like the originals and the prime series (instead of something like other M)
@sassui90 other m wasn't that bad... yes it's metroid worst adventure yet, but it stays one great game. if you are outraged due to the personality given to samus then thats a shame since you kind of saw it coming when playing fusion with the countless flashback were she has a monologue about her feelings and all.

@Annihilator567 Alternatively, maybe it's because the Dark Beam is basically an Ice Beam clone (it freezes enemies in place). Considering that Dark Samus is part Metroid...
@Rhino1004 Actually, its not the Ice Beam that kills a Metroid so fast, its the missile you shoot at it when Metroids are frozen. Dark Samus is pretty much Phazon infused with Samus's DNA.

It took me about 7 tries to beat her the first time around on Hypermode difficulty. Then, after that, I had to fight her again 3 more times to beat her, because the first time, I ran off into Dark Aether without saving and got killed by a dark splinter. -_-
@ryanrules281 It took you that long to defeat the easiest boss of the game? Then, forgot to save and got killed by a splinter...HAHAHA I would have loved to see how that turned out! And I certainly don't see how those little "splinters" can kill a whole troop of well prepared(or not), armored, federation troopers. Either the Ing ried hard, or the troopers just fail, like the Luminoth. lol
@DarkAceKirby The Splinters were possessed by the Ing, which is how they easily killed the Troopers. The Ing had failed to kill the Troopers due to the Light atmosphere, so they just possessed creatures which were posing problems for the Troopers already... big deal
@ScarisClaudius One charge shot= Death of dark splinter. Even a trooper could defeat one fast. Although, there WAS a lot of dark splinters getting the soldiers, so that is a bit more understandable that they could die from that...but still...easy to kill!
And as far as Splinters killing the troopers goes... it's like fighting a 3 VS 1 in smash bros against noobs. Sure, you can raep each one of them, maybe even all 3 at once. But once they pin you down with grab combos, hitstun abuse, edgehogging, and using projectiles to kill your 2nd jump mid-recovery and don't care what you think, it's pretty much over...

They effed up when they made all their new stuff based on Artificial Intelligence. I don't even think the Ing knew they could corrupt that at first but when they figured it out, Sanctuary Fortress became the ultimate death trap for the Luminoth. If they had deployed Quadraxis BEFORE Samus arrived, there would have been no chance for the Luminoth. The Light beam worked well. The Dark Beam was theoretically supposed to overload them but didn't. And Quaddy came with the Anni Beam :o

And i dunno if the Ing would have bothered making Quaddy. only the Space Pirates experiment, remember?
@DarkAceKirby I think Quaddy didn't exist when Dark Aether was born so it wasn't duplicated. The Luminoth probably created it afterwards as a weapon against the Ing and put their prototype Anni Beam on him and the Ing stole it. With the Anni Beam stolen with him, the Luminoth lost their best weapon. The pieces in Light Aether was probably an incomplete 2nd Quaddy that was never finished because the Ing won the war before it was done. That's just a guess though.

Horrid things, along with the Rezbits. Even Lancun had a tough time with the Ing Smashers. Me, personally, would run away.

@Kurayamiblack Actually Quadraxis existed after the ing war started you gotta remember that Dark Aether copies what's on Aether as well so what probably happened was that when it got cloned in Dark Aether the Ing finished constructing it.
I'm guessing you played the trilogy pack, the boost guardian is insanely difficult on the original for the gamecube, it was tweaked for balance in the trilogy.
@Mageziya I totally agree here. Especially on Hard Mode. God, the boost guardian enraged me so much fighting it on hard mode in the original version...
Once I fought it hard mode...it seemed strangely easy on the rest of my playthroughs.
Personally I think the only redeeming quality for MP2 was dark samus. It's an admittedly good quality, but the rest of the game was a copy of the original. Not much innovation and the ammo system was annoying. It was also incredibly frustrating how the dark world discouraged exploration in a franchise that was all about exploration. I seriously was damaged much more in that game by exploring then by any other enemy!
@wretchedsnowman1 MP2 is not as epic as the first but I liked that it had a little more story to it. The whole enemies and space pirates possessed by the Ing was a little like Halo and the Flood. Plus MP2 has a little nicer graphics.
@wretchedsnowman1 it wasnt a deterrant for exploring, especially when you got the light suit. Stop making excuses for not trying to get the most out of a metroid game. Its standard procedure you need power ups and equipment, it's like having a lava room and no heat protection suit in the other games, you just have to find it first
@Blazureokami There's a big difference, in that you weren't ever forced through an entire world that was super-heated without a heat suit. Usually a super-heated room was supposed to deter you from going somewhere until you were prepared. All I'm saying is it was annoying to sit around in the light bubble healing because the environment did more damage than monsters.

@wretchedsnowman1 Light suit. You take NO environmental damage from Dark Aether, and you get it after getting through Sanctuary. It makes exploration of Dark Aether quite easy, and relatively safe.
Yes, I recognize that there was a Light Suit, but again, it was one of the last powerups in the game. I think it was a poor decision to make an entire world deadly at the beginning when the player is not expected to have a large health pool. The only strategy was to either sit in the light bubbles and turn on the TV while you waited or to actually engage enemies to get more health (which seems kinda silly, combat should be more damaging than walking around).
after metroid prime 3, I was ready for the metroid series to move on, but once i saw how other M was a ninja gaiden clone, i started to wish for another prime game.
You are an idiot. Other M was NOTHING, N-O-T-H-I-N-G like Ninja Gaiden. That was the fucking problem. We expected a fast paced, actiony, difficult Metroid, and we got simplistic anime garbage. Don't compare Ninja Gaiden to the abortion that is Other M, because it's a really good game.

Because the Prime series is over. Phazon's gone which was the whole plot of the Prime series and Retro has stated that after Prime 3 they weren't going to be working on Metroid for quite a while if ever again.
@ddustyk prime series is over and done for.although at the 100% ending of metroid prime 3 samus's ship is followed so there might be a game after prime 3 but befor metroid 2 return of samus because the chronological order of the metroid series is Metroid 1/zero mission-Metroid prime 1-Metroid prime hunters-Metroid prime 2 echoes-Metroid prime 3 corruption-Metroid 2 return of samus-Super metroid-Metroid other M-Metroid fusion

People who compare Other M to the primes are retarded, whole different style of gamplay. Both games are very awesome, but are nothing alike. Other M reminds me of the 2d metroid gameplay, which was hard. Though the primes are still my favourite too, loved the atmosphere especially.
@MeDsCP I didn't really like Super Metroid that much. The most enjoyment I got out of the game was fighting Mother Brain. I like Metroid Fusion better than Super Metroid.
@gunner5670 You're right, I should have played Other M, so I did. Went and bought it new at GameStop for $20. Played it and beat it, it was okay, but the cinematics sucked. It was like "Heavy Rain" for the PS3 all over again. There were things I liked about the game, but overall, I'd give it a C+ at best.

@MeDsCP I will help you: Whenever Meta Ridley lands on the temple, use the Boost Ball to knock into his feet. Do this 2 times, if dealing damage, to defeat him.
@gooddarkjedi Yeah, admittedly Nintendo did screw up pretty majorly in terms of story. For every part that was executed great, there were2 more that watered it all down. As for Team Ninja, theydid a pretty good job overall as far as gameplay. If they make a sequel, they just have to make it less linear and provide movement in first person, then I'm all good. Plus it'd be nice if they would eliminate those IRRITATING forced-search view sections.

@TrayzBoy You know, oddly enough, she's actually weaker to the Dark Beam? I used to think she was an Ing and used the Light Beam on her too, but the Dark Beam actually does more damage because she's Phazon-based.
@acceleratorist Dark Samus was an underrated disappointment, really. Her past incarnation, Metroid Prime, was so, so, so, much more awesome. Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying I hated Dark Samus - I just found her too easy.
Dark Samus 1: EASY AS FUCK
Dark Samus 2: A LITTLE bit harder, but still dead easy
Dark Samus 3: EASY. Too easy. Too short.
Dark Samus 4: Maybe the most epic, but still easy. The only annoying thing is when her Phazon misses your Arm Cannon and hits you instead.

@Blazureokami There's a big difference, in that you weren't ever forced through an entire world that was super-heated without a heat suit. Usually a super-heated room was supposed to deter you from going somewhere until you were prepared. All I'm saying is it was annoying to sit around in the light bubble healing because the environment did more damage than monsters.

@wretchedsnowman1 Light suit. You take NO environmental damage from Dark Aether, and you get it after getting through Sanctuary. It makes exploration of Dark Aether quite easy, and relatively safe.

Yes, I recognize that there was a Light Suit, but again, it was one of the last powerups in the game. I think it was a poor decision to make an entire world deadly at the beginning when the player is not expected to have a large health pool. The only strategy was to either sit in the light bubbles and turn on the TV while you waited or to actually engage enemies to get more health (which seems kinda silly, combat should be more damaging than walking around).

You are an idiot. Other M was NOTHING, N-O-T-H-I-N-G like Ninja Gaiden. That was the fucking problem. We expected a fast paced, actiony, difficult Metroid, and we got simplistic anime garbage. Don't compare Ninja Gaiden to the abortion that is Other M, because it's a really good game.

Because the Prime series is over. Phazon's gone which was the whole plot of the Prime series and Retro has stated that after Prime 3 they weren't going to be working on Metroid for quite a while if ever again.

@ddustyk prime series is over and done for.although at the 100% ending of metroid prime 3 samus's ship is followed so there might be a game after prime 3 but befor metroid 2 return of samus because the chronological order of the metroid series is Metroid 1/zero mission-Metroid prime 1-Metroid prime hunters-Metroid prime 2 echoes-Metroid prime 3 corruption-Metroid 2 return of samus-Super metroid-Metroid other M-Metroid fusion

People who compare Other M to the primes are retarded, whole different style of gamplay. Both games are very awesome, but are nothing alike. Other M reminds me of the 2d metroid gameplay, which was hard. Though the primes are still my favourite too, loved the atmosphere especially.

@MeDsCP I didn't really like Super Metroid that much. The most enjoyment I got out of the game was fighting Mother Brain. I like Metroid Fusion better than Super Metroid.

@gunner5670 You're right, I should have played Other M, so I did. Went and bought it new at GameStop for $20. Played it and beat it, it was okay, but the cinematics sucked. It was like "Heavy Rain" for the PS3 all over again. There were things I liked about the game, but overall, I'd give it a C+ at best.

@gooddarkjedi Yeah, admittedly Nintendo did screw up pretty majorly in terms of story. For every part that was executed great, there were2 more that watered it all down. As for Team Ninja, theydid a pretty good job overall as far as gameplay. If they make a sequel, they just have to make it less linear and provide movement in first person, then I'm all good. Plus it'd be nice if they would eliminate those IRRITATING forced-search view sections.

@acceleratorist Dark Samus was an underrated disappointment, really. Her past incarnation, Metroid Prime, was so, so, so, much more awesome. Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying I hated Dark Samus - I just found her too easy.
Dark Samus 1: EASY AS FUCK
Dark Samus 2: A LITTLE bit harder, but still dead easy
Dark Samus 3: EASY. Too easy. Too short.
Dark Samus 4: Maybe the most epic, but still easy. The only annoying thing is when her Phazon misses your Arm Cannon and hits you instead.
