  • where do u find that specie???? i would love to have one

  • i happened to find her (that was in fact my first encounter) on a cherry tree when i was capturing many black ants to feed my pet antlions.

since this is a member of jumping spiders, i think u can find one anywhere in vegetation areas (or perhaps in ur backyard).

it is so good at mimicking that u may not be able to notice it as a spider until it drops/jumps and dangles from a fine silk tether from its spinneret.

  • thx for watching.

    good luck!

  • Awsome. I never seen those before!

  • thx.

this incredible species is a kind of jumping spider (Salticidae).

  • it's an imposter!

  • yeah.

they were thought to hunt ants in their disguise, but that is not the case.

btw, she found an aphid approaching but did not catch it at 4:20 of this clip.

  • Interesting, prefect ant actor.

  • thanks.

as you see, she was so antsy!

she often moves her forelegs up and down, mimicking ant's antennae.

  • Lucky me seeing a similar one at our side.... :D

  • congratulations! hallelujah.

thanks for linking your fine clip to this.
