  • mojo, that neck pick up is sweet. do you think the Gretch ones sound the same???

  • Muito cansativo, toca o lick, depois devagar, depois nota a nota e por último explica.

  • excellent lesson, thanks!

  • great lesson !

  • damn , my friend learnd this song in like 10 minutes :P

    awsome song !

  • Thanks a lot for this lesson , it was fun. Nice tele by the way did you built it yourself?

  • great lessons! very clear instructions...thanks!

  • Great camera angles for the guitar lesson. Even for a beginner this song may be possible. Just practice.... Lynyrd Skynyrd is awesome guitar work.

  • I have a neighbor who plays guitar and he knows all of the liyrics and he taught me how to play the first part and i go over their almost every day.

  • looks like brad paisleys guitar from mud on the tires album but his is red..

  • MOJO JOJO

  • Hey 2 questions, what is hanging around your neck, and who made your Telecaster?

  • Thx a lot ! i just looove that song and now its piece of cake thx to you ! Thunbs up !

  • Désolée, je sais pas comment le dire en anglais alors, c'est quoi la série de ta guitare? Parce qu'elle est vraiment magnifique!

  • Nice, now I finally got it.

  • Sounds good man. Try using Cadd9 instead of standard Cmaj so it pedals the D on the second string

  • I tried to do this song on myself but it didnt go so well. You really helped me out =D. Thanks dude

  • how many guitars do you have O.o

  • Great lesson bro i really like your vids you play like the masters, very nice!!!!

  • love the lesson man i have been teaching myself this song from just listening to the album and i was making it way harder than it was. thanks! -EP

  • thanks you help me a lot. can you teach the solo to this song?

  • DAMMNNN I Cant DO A G......!!!!help...........

  • @MrRadioactiveify ya its freggin hard .

  • your vids are the best.

  • wow it's so much easier once I found out those were chord shapes

  • Why all the thumbs down are there really so many a------s on yt

  • @TAPlastic Don't know. He seems like a nice guy and a good teacher. I think most people use a Cadd9

instead of a regular C chord.

  • @Mr2006explorer Yes, I have been told cadd9 too

  • Great teacher, really!

  • Great lesson, dude

  • great stuff

  • "and were gon' hit it twice" lol

  • Good!

  • Can i play this song with a plectrum?

  • great lesson. thank you

  • nice lesson.. but im pretty sure that its not a C for the second chord. i think its a Cadd9

  • @TnTMusic64 - You could be right 'cos then your ring finger and pinkie on the fretting hand can stay in the same place throughout the whole piece

  • @TnTMusic64 its a OPEN C MAJOR

  • Thanks man, helped alot!

  • I LOVEE YOU!

  • You'e necklace looks like pubes

  • do some beatles

  • one slight hitch.....he uses a pick!!!! :L

  • Great lesson MoJo ! please advise as to the Amp you played through.

The Tele snds super BUT it has got to go through something.

  • Absultely a great teacher, thanks for your help

  • Great video. You kind of lose me in the end there when you're showing your strumming hand, but you did a great job really breaking it down.

  • thanks! you're the first person who's actually EXPLAINED how to play a song on a video! helped a lot!

  • wow your amazing !!! youve made me change and now want to play guitar :D THANKYOU

  • thank you so much, for the longest time i didn't know how to do the lick at the end of the first riff. thanks for all the help!!

  • thanks ou help me a lot

  • This is cool , i'm French and I understand everything you do , super , thanks !

  • Cool guitar, want one. Well explained, easy to follow, well done!

  • your a f***ing mad dawg i been tryin to find a good video to teach me lyk thiss thumbs up bro :)

  • your awesome, i love how you show your finger positions on your chords. awesome job, subbed for sure.

  • Nice Tele!

Mine's just plain Purple... not very exciting...

  • well, it's not an original version so it sounds a bit different, but thumbs up anyways, because it's a nice easy version to learn.

  • What a great explanation in doing this song. Thank you ever so much. Is there more like you around?

  • can this work on acoustic???

  • @TheDPunisher I am trying it on an accoustic but it is not sounding the same. I think with the guitar like his it sounds much better. Another thing with the electric guitar is that you don't have to push as far on the strings like you do an accoustic.

My fingers get wired up half way down the neck and by the time I get going again Skynard has left town. lol

  • @JesseJames58 same here. dont sound right on my acoustic. hammer ons and pull offs are alot more hard work on an acoustic.

  • Unreal man. Thanks to you guys i'm after learning this and boom boom. I'm just learning to jam with my friends but i can play a good bit. You guys hardly have a video on "I'm shipping up to boston" by the dropkick murphy's? it's in the departed.

  • LondonGuitarist

I think you could play this on any guitar,

I learned this on a 6- string Seagull guitar,

What make of electro-accoustic do you use?

  • @iaingbrennan you could have just replied like this :P

  • i have a semi-acoustic guitar but wondered if its easier to play this song with an electric guitar?

  • Cheers pal.

  • WOW u are savage at teachin :D

  • I think you lessons are great i'm learning slowly

  • i have looked every where for a tele with awesome design on it like brad paisley , where did you get yours?

  • the "hammer on" part is kind of hard for me, since when i hit it without strumming it won't make a sound.

  • just a question. Why not use a pick in this song ? cuz im very new to finger picking

  • Respect, respect, respect, A natural teacher, I so much wish I could have your talent.

I will try to learn S/Alabama.

  • good lessons but the high e string is the 1st string b is 2nd and so on, you have it jus a lil backwards lol but great lessons

  • Seems like playing from childhood was sooo difficult - it's ain't when I see what you do. Thanks a lot! I just need to find right guitar and I am thinking of something, that will match with not only blues but reggae and ukulele. I'm just after J. Mraz but also I loved Harvest Moon - surprisingly even better..

  • I had problems understanding which string is which note. I'm in high school and we were only taught the first string, second string, third, etc.

  • thanks this was a big help... you are really good

  • very good!!!

  • Hi i have just got an acoustic guitar.. thanks for posting these lessons! it sounds great on an acoustic by the way...

  • @ufo1974 I used it on my acoustic too, it does sound good

  • Great Lesson.........Thank You!!!!!!!!!

  • I really appreciate what you are doing very easy to follow

  • wow thats a weird combo double humbucker on the neck and single on the bridge? what pick up are you running off of bridge or neck?

  • there a guy teaching robert johnson blue's guitar. does not break down the left hand enough. i mean does tell what string numbers or open chord letters. which he is picking. it called delta picking and strumming. can u help me please as robert johnson sounds cool. can u help thanku.

  • can u teach robert johnson blue guitar song. please break down the right and left hand technics please, thanku.

  • You made this really easy. Thank you mojo

  • I play on acoustics guitar and trying to play that you show but... it do not sound good. whats wrong and what do you think i can do?

  • @TheMorotgubben Well, from personal experience, acoustic guitars don't sound like electric ones anyway, since they don't have the effects that an amplifier can give. Also, 3/4 size guitars sound different, and so do Classic Spanish acoustics since they're a bit smaller (they're the ones with nylon strings and usually don't have a pick guard - search that on Google if you don't know what that is)

  • AWESOME!

  • Hi Mojo,

Fantastic work. Can you do Local Hero. I would really appreciate it.

    Many thanks

    Greg.

  • thank you so much this is the best lesson ive watched and i really got the main riff down! xD

  • This made it SO easy to play - thanks

  • man imagine same tele with a trem with a joe sat humbuck and a single coil dmarzio evo. damn the voice.

  • Thank you so much!!! Had my guitar for years and never played lacking confidence but now can (slowly!) play the riff after only one night practise!!!! Tried a few other lesson vids on utube and yours is the easiest by far., broke down perfectly. You made the hammer on/pull off really clear which is what others were lacking. Thanks again and great job

  • Thanks good mate! :) U are very good. And u explain very good.

  • That 4 finger "G" --I call "G *" (G-Star)--noted: from a deck of "Chord cards" I have

  • what a great teacher

  • Great stuff...but have I missed something? Did you call your left middle finger your Johnny Cash finger? If so,how come?

  • @shakeypitt i agree, i was wondering about that too

  • tyvm it helped me but ive learned it in another way cuz my guitar is different than urs

  • Have had a look at a good few of your videos, Aswell as being a great guitarist Alot of time and effort on your part well done keep up the good work!

Love the collection of guitars you seem to have, How do you have so many?? Do you have somewhere you get them cheap?? Have a USA strat myself, amp'd by a Fender Blues DeVille reissue, Would love a Tele! Love all the blues riffs ect and i think the tele has a better sound for it (James Burton is a legend)

  • tnx this is great !!!

  • nice, you are very good, tnk

  • c'est super , excellent, merci. MANU (french)

  • nice job dude but u dont always have to go full chord on some parts but most people would probably go with there easy quick go-to chords

  • thanks man, rally helped me with the second riff there

  • Wow you're good ! I also want to learn to play guitar. What kind of guitar do you have and which guitar do you recommend me to buy? which brand ? I never played guitar in my live... ( i only want to learn this song and sweet child of mine )

  • Tough for me to advise on what to buy, but a used Fender Tele made in Mexico is always a good guitar to start with that will hold its value well...

  • @ThreeChordGuitar i have a request please. accualy two but ill let you pick. One is the flame by cheap trick. and the other is 18 and life by skid row.

  • @ThreeChordGuitar you can never go wrong with a fender made in mexico XD

  • @randywest05

your first guitar must be acoustic, not electric

i would adivce your Epiphone EJ 200,this is very good guitar, costs 400 dollars, its maybe eaven too good for beginner, dont buy if you wont learn seriosly to play guitar

    if you will,buy

  • @randywest05 ok so you are entering guitar world just for two songs??? not judging because my best friend actually started with sweet child o' mine but later you'll come to see that there are much more interesting songs than sweet child o' mine. IMO starting with an epiphone les paul standard is a good choice!! Worked for me anyway and is still working fine

  • @randywest05 well im no expert or anything but im learning to and i wud recomend a fender squier itz cheap (price wise) and stays in tune pretty well itz a learner guitar itz normal size and is a bit easier to play... i recommend it

  • @randywest05 I would recomend a Squier which is the cheaper version of Fender but has still got very good quallity.

but if you are really a beginner I recommand to begin with an acoustic guitar, its much easyer to learn and you can play sweet home alabama on that guitar as well.

  • I love the Cajun accent!

  • you are the bomb dude keep duing wat your duing

  • @Megaherz13 spelling fail.

  • Thankkkkkkkk

  • thx!

  • You wanna....rub his head??

  • i wanna rub your head

  • @davy1997 why??

  • @davy1997 WHAT?! rofl

  • i luv you and your baldy head keep doing this

  • Great tnx,Sweet alabama will be played by me next week.

    Greetz from Holland

  • Very cool lesson. Thanks!

  • i get it, right up to 3:40 when you mention about the turnaround. once i get that bit nailed i'm done.

can anyone post the tab for it so i can see exactly what's being pressed down

    thanks

  • why `johnny cash finger`?

  • It's a reference to the famous photo of JC flipping the bird to his old record company.

  • Because you're mine.

    I walk the line.

  • good job, thanks!

  • Good video but on the second turn around of the intro you've missed out the little bluesy part doing 2nd open 4th open and 5th to 7th bend on the G string. Give it a try it's a cool lick:))

  • thank you so much ,it's really appreciated.

  • its not a c cord in the beginning its a c7# its the same as a D but ur middle finger is on the 5th string 3rd fret

  • great job!!!!! made it simple to learn!
