I don't think it's a very good idea to put food while you're introducing. Just a tip to whoever reads this I am not trying to be mean or anything just want to help!
we had to guinea pigs (Caramel and Chocolate) and one day i came home from school to find Caramel dead :^(. Chocolate was VERY depressed and then we got 2 new babies (Indy and Sooty) and now i myself another one (Harry) so now we have 4!! But Indy and Sooty keeps getting extremely agitated when I try to introduce Harry to them and i'm worried that they'll never get along. Is this normal because Indy and Sooty are both young? or do i need to be worried and get another cage (i'll put chocs in)???
I got mine at an animal shelter. You could call your local extension office and see if there are any 4-H groups in the area that show guinea pigs-they should know.
I wish i had two guinea pigs but i only have a male guinea pig that i have had for 1 month now and he always acts like my yorkshire terrier is a guinea pig and trys to clean her but she dosnt like it. Ill probally save up for another one so he has a companion to be with for the rest of his life so he wont be lonely anymore but I love you guinea pigs there so cute! I really enjoyed this video :]
hi, i saw this on a google search. anyway, one of my guinea pigs died last weekend from a bad infection and my other is lonely so I wanted to know what to do when introducing another guinea pig to her (who I'll get from Pets At Home).
I used to have two guinea pigs called Millie and Rosie. They were twins and I got them about 3 and a half years ago at a small pet store. They were both cross breeds but they had an abbysinian side of them. In November Rosie had a stroke and died, I found Millie next to her sniffing her. Ever since yesterday, Millie lived inside on her own until we got a new guinea pig called Mia! They absolutey LOVE eachother!! I found them snuggled up together this morning :') Now Millie won't get lonely!!
yeah, that sound means it's scared. my Lucy always is. my girls are mean to eachother. If Lucy is in her carry on, Juicy will tip her over. If Juicy has a toy, Lucy will take it. i keep them seperate because they fight, unless they are outdoors! then thy CUDDLE?!!!? what am i to do? they've been with me for nearly a year!
can anyone give me some info on how to introduce my 2 year old guinea pig with my new 1 year old one we put them in the corral but than Essa was really scared and started squealing and Autumn was really loving it but we picked Essa up and Autumn got really mad and now she won't eat and i am really scared what do i do!
RIGHT DONT WORY ! this might sound wrong but all you have to do is to leave Essa in with Autumn and make them get used to each outher,
SO DONT WORY, thats all you have to do, let them get used to each outher thats what i did too my two when they first met. So just do what i said and it will be fine ok!.
