For those of you who care I worked out why the diff blew today. The front uni joint seized causing enormous pressure on the bearings which collapsed. So the poor old diff was simply a victim of seized uni joints.

was it the pin in the diff that broke ? and did you get a hole in the axle pumpkin ?

The bearings collapsed letting the spline rattle around and damage all the teeth. No damage to the diff housing thank God. So my next video will be replacing a landrover discovery front diff center.

I used to offroad a range rover alot and blown my fair share of diff's so know how that goes :)
