There are plenty of studies critically examining the effects of globalization and film-making. if you read her book Reel to Real, her book on film, you'll realize that she knows quite a bit not only about film, but more importantly, about the affect of film on culture, that film essentiallly creates culture. of course, i don't mean for my response to sound snide or arrogant, but i'd definitely suggest this book.
