Tip 9: Put something between the fuel tank and the chassis, or the tank will have a hard time while hitting the chassis every jump and it'll take off the gray chassis color.
Tip 7: Install a fuel filter between the fuellines, or dirt will definitly come into your carb and so in your engine (it's just a must, like a failsafe, or you're mad).
Tip 8: Use the WOT break-in method for a much longer engine lifetime.
Tip 5: I never use locktight (except for the gearbox outdrives, diffs, chassis-engine plate and chassis-suspension part (the whole plastic thing)) and I haven't got any problems so far.
Tip 6: In my opinion, the diff oil is far to thin. When assembling, I would change the oil for a much thicker one.
Tip 3: The standard setting of the upper arms is 10mm (which means positive camber/upper parts of the wheels closest to eachother, which is very stupid and not stable in the corners), change this to 5mm (=minimum) so you'll have negative camber.
Tip 4: Screws in the plastic parts haven't got to be tight, watch out to not overtighten the screws or the holes will get lame very quick.
Tip 1: Don't put grease in the cupjoints, it works when riding on stone, but a lot of sand will stick in the cupjoints when you're off-road. Tip 2: If you're going to use silicon boots around the cupjoints, it's best to do that while building from scratch, cause it'll cost you a lot of time afterwards.
For everyone who worries about putting everything together: It's so f*cking easy. There's a picture of every part in 1:1 scale on every page where you have to use it.
hi dude me again lol ive built an ss a real beauty but cant put it together as a slideshow with music and get it on youtube what software did you use please? ps its great feeling when its built aint it nearly lost plot couple times tho ie those two small nuts you have to fit in hexagonal holes near rear wheels aaaaaaaarrrrrgghh!!!!!!!!!!
you could use windows movie maker, i used windows movie maker for my slideshow vid of my savage isnt an ss build, just a vid of my new dodge ram shell and rmp rims and standard t-maxx tires
Hey looks like u did an awesome job, I just finished building my savage but i had parts all over the place lol, i was over eager to check everything first.
hi anyone know what the dirt bonz tyres are like? im building one soon but had knobbly tyres before and theyre smooth in a week! any tips on building the ss? cheers lads
i had a savge 25 and took it apart several times so i was braggin that i could put savage x ss kit together in a few hrs 4 day later i felt dumb but it was worth it
ay, im geting one on thursday, i have a couple ?'s.. how long did it take u to build it? how hard was it from a scale of 1-10? any tips while im building mine?
hey man how hard was that to put together? i have prety much no experience in RC but im good when it comes to puting things together would i be able to do it? and how tough is the savage what kinda stuff did you have to replace in it so far?
Nice vid mate, now lets see it with the shell painted & bashing some jumps! Everyone on 'you tube' wants to ditch ther revos for sav's! I agree with them , sav's are def the best & i've had alot of trucks! check out my vids
Nice! I like the music! It suits the video perfectly! I think I'm going to get a Savage X, I'm tired of replacing parts on my Traxxas Revo! I love the handling of the Revo, but it doesn't even come close to the Savage in the toughness department.
What parts have you broken? Are the plastic shocks a weak point? I was thinking I should buy the kit and sell the shocks new, then buy the HPI aluminum ones.
no i wouldent bother, the alli ones are only really for the 'bling' factor. my hpi ones have stood up to alot of abuse . in 9 months i havent acctually 'broken' anyhthing yet
Thanks for the info! I definitely want a Savage X now! I have a hard time getting 2 tanks of fuel through my Revo without breaking something! Do you do a lot of jumping?
Man, I was thinking about buying a Savage X SS Kit and now I wan't it even more! That looks and sounds like so much of fun! Thanks, man!(other kind of music next time xP)

yes i cant agree more ,but the access on the savage isnt very good because of the Tvp design and how hpi have dsigned it. it is very cramped
