  • Check out the Never Brothers on 24 hours

  • Just a kick ass song by some good ole boys!!!

  • music was important back then, so the dreams and emotions and thoughts and love and tears all flowed into the songs, and the musicians played the heck out their instruments....lol no like the iphpone of today, and the apps, there is a bit of robotic and rap in todays music, the corporate is there, but not the soul, not the musicians, note that if you take the instruments out of todays songs...you wont notice...the music is all about the money at the end of the road today, not art

  • I became a MTB devotee the first time I ever saw them in concert and never missed one of their concerts for decades after.... saw them in county fairs, large stadiums, Rock Superbowls (anyone remember that awesome insane concert series in Tampa, Florida?), a race track, small venues -- whereever. Met them once in Orlando when they were opening for Black Oak Arkansas.

  • ONE BADASS SONG.

  • Sorry! Tyops! Can't spell and type...but you know what I meant! Love these guys!

  • I remember seeing this band in 1976 fekk in love with them

1 Mingkewood eat your heart out! THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!!!!!!!!

  • To imyour99, you need to change your date. I saw this band several times, the original band. And I was born after 1954, 1957, so get your dates correct. We both know what you are talking about, and you are correct. Some say the seventies sucked, not with this band. Not with Charlie Daniels, not with The Outlaws. So I was alive back then and I loved the music.

  • She done left me for another and I hadnt put the stopper back in the bottle in a coons age

  • BLACK STONE CHERRY!!!!!!!!

  • To all those who wish they'd been alive Back Then -- it was great. It was just as great as you imagine. Maybe greater. Alas poor children, you'll never know a time when musicians actually played their own instruments and sang their own songs, instead of faking it with synthesizers and drum machines and AutoTune. I don't want to say "Eat your heart out" -- that would be cruel -- but I am truly sorry for anyone born after 1954.

  • To be in a concert while this song was played, with the whole audience singing along, was really amazing. And when they got to a point where they just stopped playing for a bit and the audience carried the song on tune till they started playing again - I got chills then and got 'em now remembering it.

  • little fla boy here, we dont dress the best and not gonna win too many louis vitton parades...but gotta feel the music...maybe its the humidity or the wildlife or the pretty girls that keep it way nice down here....why would i move to chicago...lol

    , no fking way

  • Just awesome...Rock on :)

  • I would love to have been born when this music was first played on the radio..

  • saw these guys 3 times long ago fantastic

  • seems like the era of good music has ended for the most part. most ppl these days just dont know what they missed. if they did , there would be SOME band/someone that would revive it for this generation and give us some additions to the classics like MTB and the like.

  • fuckin right on, i wanna be born 50 years earlier

  • Grew up listening to this all through High School days, south Texas!!!! Just awesome music!!!

  • saw them on this tour in 73....never forget it

  • im 23 years old...this is the only kind of music i like.....the real music

  • I guess 95 people can't see.

  • @joevadur lol Best comment I've seen in a while! :)

  • Note: To Those Under 30 yrs. old. This is what REAL Talent looks like.

  • @twajetmech1 lol, who made you judge of all good music lol.

dont need an idiot like you telling me , that the song im listening too is good.

i listen to this song atleast 5 times a day.

i know it is fucking good.

  • @twajetmech1

    more like under 40 ;)

  • For those of us that are older, lived the great life of the 70s in high school, I am hoping the music will come around again, Marshal Tucker, Charlie Daniels, Jimmy Buffett, Pure Praire League. Those were the days. Hey even some Jethro Tull. They don't make it or write it the way they use to. Have to add some Tom Petty from Gainesville. I was listening to this back in NJ, back in high school. May some new writers and bands bring it back again.

  • Marshall Tucker is awesome, no matter where you`re from.

  • I'm not from, nor live in the south. However, you have to be an idiot not to appreciate the south and southern rock. Grew up listening to Marshall, Molly Hatchet, Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 special, etc. Great music then. Great music now.

  • We don't hate you if you aren't from the South. We just don't accept the blanket label that we're all racist hicks. It's the beauty of the south....generally, you get treated the way you treat us. I can't and won't answer for the atrocities of slavery. I didn't do it. But, the north doesn't have the corner on intelligence, money or initiative. The most hateful people I've ever met were in the north. Beyond that, Marshall Tucker kicked ass north, south, east and west.

  • wow no north south stuff, we are all one! and our music just makes us more close. I live in the north, and have never heard or seen any north south stuff, I guess I don't get it. Live and let live. :)

  • MAKES FEEL YOUNG. ({:>)

  • in my heart

  • southern rock is the best

  • With out a doubt the ultimate blues tune.

  • This song is THE JAM!! I love this song.. forgot all about this tune..

  • I have a major problem with the Marshall Tucker Band and Stevie Ray Vaughan not being in the so called Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.I mean does great artistry and music even figure in the process? I'm not saying that everybody that's in the hall doesn't belong I'm saying the process should be more accountable to us the fans... We know greatness when we hear it!

  • Like the few Dinosaur bones we have unearthed and put on display in a natural history museum , You Tube Videos are the only evidence we have of the great Southern Rock bands that once roamed the Musical Landscape of the Southern United States but have long since become extinct..

  • @cessna65423 actually, in most southern cities at least ONE radio station still cranks these, 24/7! Spin the dial and look!

  • @ravens3468 Yes you can always find radio stations that feature southern rock band but my point is no young southern guys are getting together and creating some new classic southern rock. ITS ALL GONE!!! Best you can find is a band that might copy one of the Southern legends but thats about it.

  • @cessna65423 I think too it runs in geographic waves. The British invasion of the 60's, 70's Southern rock, Grunge from the Pac NW, etc. I bet it comes back again if the kids everywhere get off the playstations!

  • @cessna65423 Their music will never go extinct my friend, just press play! Their music will forever live in our hearts and minds and we must do everything we can to pass it down to our children and let them know how important the music of the mid to late 20th century really was!!! With out the garbage that comes out now a days, maybe if we pass it down, this type of music will make a revolution!!!! God Bless you friend and have a nice day!!!

  • @cessna65423 You got that right cessna!

And there ain't no blues being sang like that by a southern yungun!

I just wish I could go back and hug tham all one more time.

Maybe one day we will meet in tha great hall in tha sky. . .

  • @12thsonofisrael About the only music we can expect from the South now and in the future is Latin or Spanish. Remember that old saying , 'THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN!

it WILL but we didn't think it would be THE MEXICAN SOUTH.

  • @cessna65423 You are so right! Sure is sad that so many people have no idea about this awesome music! I have these albums (Molly Hatchett, Skynyrd, Blackfoot....) they were awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The music lives on through people like us that will never forget!

  • @cessna65423 Brilliant and very sad.

  • @cessna65423 AMEN!!!! southern rock will never die

  • Beautiful!

  • Thumbs up if you saw him spit at 1:01.

  • Charlie Daniels is still doing some of this....if you care to listen..

  • I really do miss southern rock and the good ol' days of the 70s when I was a teen.

  • great old tune that never loses its appeal. The south does know how to rock.

  • Comment removed

  • I use to think man I'm gettin old,but hell if I wasn't never would have been able to see all these fabulous bands, great festivals.police didn't bother people like now

  • @1lostsoldier1 Right on brother. The things I've seen, the experiences I've had, the music I've danced, fucked, and listened to...ain't nobody gonna take it away. It's called freedom, and i've been lucky to be alive, and an american. God Bless.

  • I saw this tour at the Aragon in Chicago at 15 took my girlfriend, her first show. Charlie Daniels was the opener, both bands in their prime.

  • Very few, if any, bands will be listened to 40 years from now like this. Was a great time to be around !!!!!!!!!

  • @flhsg09 Happy New Year, can't believe 2012. I probably like you got to see them live. Damm, good times, no music like this out there now. Love it.

  • epic

  • shit in ears? maybe thats why 50,000 bikers fight tooth and nail to see them live in sturgis when they play at thet throttle! good old classic country rock

  • @pigger56 50,000 "bikers" will find something to fight about no matter what. Bad example to use.

  • lots of rock, will never die

this is one for the ages.....Marr Sue

  • Genius, pure genius.

  • i'm a guitar player wannabe, and i'm just blown away by that thumb picking. does anyone else do that?.

  • Every time this song gets played out on the radio, I just listen to this live version. Love his voice and the intensity. Much better than the radio version.

  • Half-Nelson took me here.

  • I dont care what anyone says, this is real music. The South really understands rock n roll

  • @NumbAsAStatue27 I know they have the best blues.

  • @NumbAsAStatue27 That's never been in question. It's their ability to contain their hate for the rest of us.

  • @NumbAsAStatue27 great Southern Rock Band One of many Great ones Rock On

  • Anyone that could dislike this has to be a very unhappy person in their daily lives.

  • I remember hearing this song in the radio in my car driving down the highway 2 months befor graduation. lord where did the time and all the people go?

    Bobby

    8TH Infantry Division 1974

  • True southern rock gold right there!

  • @crb2011 I miss those guitar solos like this, and all of the early 70's bands. They were not incredibly fast, but they were skillful and actually added to the song rather than used as filler. Today it's all about how fast you can play and showing off.

  • i grew up 2 miles from the caldwell homestead i remember as a kid riding my bike to hills bridge and hearing the sweatest music comming from the trees

  • Toy has the MAN voice. this song has so much soul!

  • I wore out the 8 track when I was a kid.

  • Why the hell is a "dislike" button even allowed on this?

  • @VoodooPolitico good point! As a 70's hippie child, luv me some MT, Bob Seger, and maybe throw in some Doobie Brothers..

  • @kelleybest Sounds fun I'll bring the doobie and the Allman's and the almonds.

  • @kelleybest just seen bob seager less than a month ago, only thing different was the wheel chair and oxygen machine lol just kiddin. it was just like old times with gray hair. he was all over the stage singing like he always did.

  • @VoodooPolitico yeah, and a lotta people down home here can play one, can make em' homemade

  • @VoodooPolitico Uh, that would be a negatory ghost rider.

  • @TheSchlager1 Negatory? I think I heard them say that on "Movin On" once, only once

  • Love this band. Marshall Tucker Rules

  • this is truly some of the best Southern Rock N Roll ever made!

  • these guys good band its hard to keep it toegether with some people all black school all jewish school but when we try to come toegter always promlem jesus christ somebody always gets stupid

  • There is nothing better than going to one of these Southern Rock concerts, where the beer is cold, cold, cold and the women are hot, hot, hot! Many of us are still carrying the torch after the glory days of the 1970's.

  • AMAZING''''''''''''

  • This is one of music's all time bests!!!!

  • 92 people have Bieber fever

  • This is a tune that gets better with time. Now it ranks right up to Blue Sky as my favorite southern 70's song Damn that Toy was amazing

  • Can't decide which version of this I like better. This one or the one when Toy is so young...each has it's own special flavor.

  • Still as good as the first time

    with or without enhancement

    a tried and true classic

  • @drjamieak I like the younger version a little better but both are great!! I like how you can see he is almost shy on stage on the early version and in this one hes just saying"IM TOY FRIGGEN CALDWELL" now listen to this!!

  • Toy Caldwell is Solid .A rock , a boulder..There's not too many Dudes left, let's be honest.

  • LOVE EVERY COMMENT!!

  • If you dislike this you suck

  • this song rocks!!!!!!

  • Dislike should not even be an option for a song as such!!!!!!!! Straight from the gut. Great and thanks for posting!!!

  • do you understand what you just saw?

  • I wanted to say something deep...but all I could muster is "KICK ASS."

  • one of my best memories ever, Cow Palace, San Francisco 71-72, Allman's, Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels and some very good chemical enhancements

  • @sirwob It rained chemicals there in those days,I saw them in Chico, '73,Skynyrd was the warm up group, wasted us. hehe

  • @sirwob cow palice is cool

  • @sirwob I envy you sir. My closest comparison is Eagles, MTB, Jimmy Buffet and Steve Miller , Orange Bowl in Orlando. I think it was 76. It still pales in comparison to your Cow Palace memories.

  • @CurtisLoew1960 but a good concert also, just moved back to the Bay-Area after 9 years in Orlando

  • @sirwob - We saw 'em at the base of our ski hill, Big Mountain one summer and it was kinda the same way... :-)

  • Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? I already nominated the band for President

  • 3,000,000+ hits says it all....

  • how good is this??

  • Pack that bowl!!!!

  • Total Metal here. This is the music my parents listened to when I was growing up. I remember my mom would put the original Vinyl LP on and just let it play. This song transcends all musical genres. It defies classification. Thanks for sharing!

  • 89 people dont like real music

  • Fastest thumb in the South...

  • Maximum respect to Toy Caldwell: besides being a truly gifted guitarist, he served in the infantry in Vietnam, was wounded, spent 7 months in the hospital, then redeployed to Vietnam to finish his tour. A stone cold stud.

  • @cythera431 YA GOTTA LOVE DA KILL 'EM ALL LET GOD SORT 'EM OUT ATTITUDE O" REAL ME.....

  • @cythera431 R.I.P. Toy Caldwell...he died in 1993 of respiratory failure...at age 45...

  • @cythera431 RIP Tommy & Toy

  • @cythera431 The man carries his balls in a bucket

  • @cythera431 wow i didnt know that........makes playing this song an honor.

  • @riceboy1001 it was fate. one good song deserves another

  • How did black betty get me here?
