for aspet - Horovel is traditional song for peasants in western armenia (18-19 centurey). They used to sing/compose while they're working in fields. Later on Komitas gathered all horovel music and lyrics travelling village by village, city by city. He sharpened the music (He was one of the world's greatest musiciens of his time, untill the god damn turks bunished him). So the horovel songs you hear now actually are 'Komitasyan horovel's

By the way, can anyone explain to me what "Horovel" means? I've heard more than one versions of this song and I still don't know what it means. Not even my Armenian-English dictionary tells me (then again, it's in the Western dialect).
