Djokovic is the most balanced ground stroke player I've seen in history. His Backhand and Forehands are both weapons. If you have seen the two matches he played with Nadal in Madrid 2011 and Rome 2011, you can see that neither side can be considered weaker than the other. They both are reliable weapons. Although Federer will always be my my all time favorite, Djokovic's evolution will force players to have a weapon of a forehand AND backhand.
Well, I think this was very tough loss for Roger. Probablly,the second toughtest loss after wimbledon final 2008 for cope with. two match points with serve,two years in a row. Mentally,very very tough. But he bounced back very good on indoor season.
Amazing tennis player,aswell as human being! His belief,faith that he CAN no matter what,faith that even when everybody is against him,when he is at brink of losing,he still think positive...EXTRAORDINARY! There is still hope for human race !
It's sad when Djoker fans have to be disrespectful to Federer. Djokovic is 24, Federer is 30. Djokovic will be totally finished when he's 30 because of the over-physical way he plays. His knees and right shoulder will be falling apart. Federer is virtually injury free at 30.

@username12009 Well I can't argue against your experiences but it does differ from person to person. I used to read Tennistalkcom a lot and from reading that I grew to find Rafa fans the most annoying and disrespectful. I just try to keep in mind that not all fans are like that and it's strictly the ones I'm currently dealing with that have the disrespectful attitude (hypothetically, of course).
@username12009 Federer has that typical western white male soft slobby body. Novak and Rafa are naturally gifted with amazing athleticism. You can't lose that. I have been hearing for example how Rafa is going to be done in a year or two since he was 18. He will turn 26 this year, better then ever. Novak never had any serious injury.Only problem was his gluten allergy.These two will play in their 30s while roger will retire next year,mark my words.
@Globox822 Federer's game is not about brute force hence he doesn't need to be built like a weightlifter. Federer has always been about speed and supreme skill. IMO Federer and Nadal are the two best players ever. Nadal is very powerful but he also has excellent skill, Djokovic has great endurance but I find his play boring. Nadal and Federer put on a show, sport is entertainment not just competition.

I would disagree on this.Federer is very tough,he has hardy,nervy body.Doesn't rely to muscle strength as much as other two.It's different kind of preparation,fitness.Way he plays reflects that:he doesn't rally senselessly into some 30+ shots(my only minus in Nole's and Rafa's game)but rather absorbs few shots and suddenly returns unreachable,indefensible ball.Also he's a great thinker on the court,Nole is as well.They both "feel the game"(tempo changes)so well.
Federer has(zilavo),nervy hardened body.He doesn't need that much of muscle mass.He's light and his body is springy in motion.It's like a whip as he hits the ball.Utilizing the whole body motion(extension during backhand or torso rotation during forehand).I know for fact that he never rallied as Rafa or Nole do.It was never his gameplay to tire an opponent but to outthink him!Minus in Nole's game is inability to shorten points against Murray or Nadal in Aust.Open.

Well, Djokovic could shorten points against Murray and Nadal if he takes more risc, but you know, he doesn't miss that many backhands like Federer does!
But those long rallies and ultra long matches aren't recipe that's gonna deliver the Championship every time.He'll probably change something in his game in the future.Add a bit of variety rather than slugging it out from the baseline.I just say it's risky,a lot!If he wants to be the greatest,he needs to play conservatively.

@serbianpupil I agree that Federer aint as muscular as Novak and Rafa but that has more to do with his work ethic. Federer's philosophy had more to do with keeping his body as fluent as possible, not wearing his body down too much in the gym. He is slobby though, I really think he needs to get rid of his belly and gain some core strength. But, the guy still is an amazing athlete despite his slobby body.

I watched this match LIVE and Federer only made like 3 backhand winners whole match and he wins first 2 set and almost won the whole thing. During his prime no doubt there will be more backhand winners and hence he will win in 3 or 4. However its good thing he lost because Djokovic will help beat Nadal in the final. People should see it is pointless for Federer to win match point if he is not going to take the slam.

Roger Federer is probably the greatest ever, but the level Novak is playing at these days, is higher than Roger in 2004-2007. The reason Roger dominated for so long, is that there were not anybody who could play on the same level as him. Nadal was a young upcoming player who at that moment beat Roger only on clay. If Novak, Nadal and Roger started there careers at the same time, they would each have 3-7 Slams. Roger is NOT better than Novak and Rafa, he was just lucky to be older and avoid them!

Djokovic is the most balanced ground stroke player I've seen in history. His Backhand and Forehands are both weapons. If you have seen the two matches he played with Nadal in Madrid 2011 and Rome 2011, you can see that neither side can be considered weaker than the other. They both are reliable weapons. Although Federer will always be my my all time favorite, Djokovic's evolution will force players to have a weapon of a forehand AND backhand.

Well, I think this was very tough loss for Roger. Probablly,the second toughtest loss after wimbledon final 2008 for cope with. two match points with serve,two years in a row. Mentally,very very tough. But he bounced back very good on indoor season.

I would disagree on this.Federer is very tough,he has hardy,nervy body.Doesn't rely to muscle strength as much as other two.It's different kind of preparation,fitness.Way he plays reflects that:he doesn't rally senselessly into some 30+ shots(my only minus in Nole's and Rafa's game)but rather absorbs few shots and suddenly returns unreachable,indefensible ball.Also he's a great thinker on the court,Nole is as well.They both "feel the game"(tempo changes)so well.

Federer has(zilavo),nervy hardened body.He doesn't need that much of muscle mass.He's light and his body is springy in motion.It's like a whip as he hits the ball.Utilizing the whole body motion(extension during backhand or torso rotation during forehand).I know for fact that he never rallied as Rafa or Nole do.It was never his gameplay to tire an opponent but to outthink him!Minus in Nole's game is inability to shorten points against Murray or Nadal in Aust.Open.

Federer's philosophy had more to do with keeping his body as fluent as possible, not wearing his body down too much in the gym. He is slobby though, I really think he needs to get rid of his belly and gain some core strength. But, the guy still is an amazing athlete despite his slobby body.

I watched this match LIVE and Federer only made like 3 backhand winners whole match and he wins first 2 set and almost won the whole thing. Roger Federer is probably the greatest ever, but the level Novak is playing at these days, is higher than Roger in 2004-2007. The reason Roger dominated for so long, is that there were not anybody who could play on the same level as him. Nadal was a young upcoming player who at that moment beat Roger only on clay. If Novak, Nadal and Roger started there careers at the same time, they would each have 3-7 Slams. Roger is NOT better than Novak and Rafa, he was just lucky to be older and avoid them!

You're right when you say that it's only an opinion the debate about 'the best ever in tennis'. It's really dangerous to select only one where a lot have been great. But the only defeat of Djokovic in Grand Slam considering the last 5 was to Federer, and that's a fact.

You can't even say what you said about his Grand Slam titles: he was the absolute best of his times, and till 2010 Aussie Open, he was. The fact you like Roger Federer is another thing, but you have to learn to be objective. You cannot claim "absolute knowledge". Federer is the greatest of all time but if Nadal gets to 15 slams then you got to say Nadal has surpass Federer as GOAT. Nadal is 6-2 against Federer when the Heavyweight title is on the line and is 2-0 against Federer to advance to the Heavyweight title match. Federer is better than Nadal on hardcourts but when he plays Nadal on hardcourts its even 5-5?? 9-2 on clay for Nadal and 1-2 on grass. But Djokovic can stop Nadal from being GOAT.

I remember Nadal beating your prime Federer even at the age of 18. @DonxRaul Yea federer beat nadal butt in 2007 master cup but the worst beat down was 2008 french open final. Federer didnt belong on the same court with Nadal that day. Nadal won more games in a beat down by federer at the 2007 master cup in 2 sets than federer got in a beat down by nadal in 3 sets at the 2008 french open final.

I mean Fed's had same bad even if consider the beat on clay..but none of them where as bad as what Federer did to nadal there in 2007...o check the highlights..Cuz I know u wasn't watching tennis at that time...anyways don't compare GS play to masters..Fed us to lose to some low lvl player back in his prime, in masters, but face slapped them in GS..it was clear to everyone back then that Fed lvl of play was lower in masters than in GS..hence when we lost it wasn't a big deal
