For those of you who don't get this.

By hovering over the back button, and pressing the name, the CPU becomes confused, and does the only thing it can, which is advance. The game loads each character from its ID. however, as you just did this, no ID was actually selected, so the game automatically chooses the character whose ID happens to be 0, which is Master Hand.

the developers made masterhand playable in early game stages to experiment with him and gave him character id (0). when you don`t choose character id, it becomes (0) automathicaly wich means the character you choose is the masterhand data they used to test and try him out. when you fight masterhand in 1p mode, the game uses this game data as character and treats him like any other character. the game sees him as any other character, that`s why he is playable through making your fighter id "0"

To play as master hand just have the one who will play as him in port 3 you must not go to any of the characters just hit the button in the corner of your character screen and then go to the name change and leave it on new entry now have the other player choose someone and move the curser to back and at the same time both hit A and it should bring you to the arena selection screen

You have to have atleast 1 name in ure name selection. first hover your hand over the name box in slot 3.(MUST BE IN SLOT 3). Then hold A+B and then realise B(still holdng A) and at the right timing prees B down again(Holding A+B Again) (it is ver difficult to get the EXAct timing.)

For all wondering, this is not some crude joke. I have tried it, and it works.

However, I find that pressing the Back and Name Entry button at the same time doesn't work, but rather pressing the Name Entry button about a few milliseconds after the Back button.

Sadly, you cannot pit 4 CPU Master Hand's against each other.
