My instructor says this guy is one of the best that ever danced, yet they never won a professional championship. Something about the fact the guy was that far ahead he was coming up with sum pretty out of the box stuff that wasn't considered 'traditional' Anyone shed some light on this (new to this sport)? seems kind of silly to nail sumbody who possesses the skill but isn't sticking to the 'way its always been done...'

the name of the tango is "verrano portegno". it is an Argentine tango composed and rung by Astor Piazolla. Clearly the original version has been completely readapted for the opportunity.

It is actually very interesting interpretation of tango. He attempt to add tango waltz into ballroom tango and challenge some preconceptions of ballroom tango with out transfering it into Argentin Tango.

Great dancers, lovely performance, but real tango is cheek-to-cheek. However, of all ballroom tango videos, this is the one that is closest to tango. And please, don't say I'm a nasty Argentine, it's only that tango has very specific kind of steps that are hard to copy for somebody who is not involved in tango, as for instance, belly dancing does in its own way.

I like the way you are talking. There are one thing you argentine tangueros really can't understand. This is ALL ANOTHER dance, only really very very far inspired to argentine tango; don't want to be a copy, don't feel superior or more than any other dance, got a own life, own technique, own goals. Please, don't think more at this dance as a 'tango', but as a 'standard dance', like english waltz, slow foxtrot, quickstep, wiennese waltz.

You know, I've realized that most argentines who say such nasty things about this dance, are just reacting as latins: they are pure fellings and burst, explode, and will say nasty things even if they liked the dance. You see, when I saw my first ballroom tango, I felt something like that at its being called tango, until I realized that all standard dances must not be exactly as the native ones.

not going to say you are that nasty a.tango guy, but please give me a break. a.tango culture is like a cult, what is up with it. i have attended many a.tango perfomances, met a.tango dancers. if you wish to change yoru image, change your attitude. a.tango dancers come across and act ARROGANT and un approachable. i endureded 3 months of training and walked away thinking, man, i have not interest in the dance; more importatnly, inthe culture and the ambassadors of the dance.

Ah: I love so much argentine tango, I often go to theatre to see Zotto every time his tango company comes in Roma. But I never compare it to my standard tango, like I don't compare it with ballet or jazz or funky dance. ;-)

The only problem i have with you A Tango folks is that you are so stuck in the past that you can not find your way out the the new world. if you say anything about Pino, Mirko, or Massimo and their Tango not being expressive, or "argetine tango", then you KNOW NOTHING ABOUT PASSOIN, DASNCE, AND WHAT IT MEANS TO EXPRESS YOURSELF. their brand of tngo is what makes A.Tango, even bearable. after 5 minutes of a.tango, GOD help me, i am ready to go postal. all the same, see one, seen them all.

First, how old I am is not your business.

They don't lose nothing, you lose another precious chance to stay in silence. They were great in past, they ARE great now and forever. They are world champions. You, and I, and so much people like us, are simply noone, now and forever. Look at their performance and try to understand something about standard dances, before it's too late. Maybe both you and I can lose our feet and legs, but in only 2 weeks, not 2 years. They are wonderful forever.

well, if you like to have facts, They retired at the end of 2006 season. they were top 5 in the world. they have been very active doing shows and that is just as much practice and work. i would challenge any a.tango dancer to move and express themselves as such, these two will put any a.tango dancer to shame with their passion, skill, and originality. show me the absolute best a.tango dancer out there whom can do waltz, quickstep, of foxtrot. maybe viennese waltz. you get the point i hope.
