The greed continues. Many private medical records are sent to countries like India & Pakistan for transcription, because they will work for so little money. Many health records also have personal ID, SS#'s, etc. with them, and those go offshore, too. Those important records are being transcribed by people for whom English is a 2nd language, and many mistakes get made. Meanwhile, experienced US transcriptionists make far less money now than 25 years ago. Something is VERY wrong, here.

I was given 300 mg. Floxin for a minor infection. After 10 days both legs were swollen, and felt pins and needles. Two tendons had partial ruptures, 9 years later, I am in constant pain in muscles, nerves, tendons still and need to take 8 medications. I cannot work and cannot have a normal life. Sometimes all I want is for both legs to be amputated. My hands, elbows, and shoulders are in pain and are swollen...from doing practically nothing.

My friend was diagnosed with Breast cancer last year and started chemo 2 days after her diagnosis she has endured a year of treatment and am happy to say is doing great! Our health care system is not perfect but I would rather my tax dollars go to health care than to a war that should never have happened. Hope Americans wake up!

I haven't seen the movies but by the trailers, I can tell you that colombian health care system is very similar. It is terrible. I hope colombian people get to see this documentary so they can realize how bad their health care is.
Most my family and I work in health care. And all these types of stories are REAL. I hear of so many of our patients going to Canada to buy their prescriptions. Thank god he made this movie. I hope people outside the industry can now see what has been happening.

7 months ago I took 1 300 mg dose of Cipro. for the first 4 months afterwards i experienced horrible nerve pains all over my body, muscle cramping and twitching, and tendinitis in my achilles tendons. I still expereince these side effects, to a lesser degree, 7 months after taking the pill. I was never warned that these side effects could persist for so long. In fact, I was NEVER warned about the nerve pain or muscle cramps and twitches. It has been Hell.

A few days later was thrown out of the hospital at 3am to make room for another patient. Location: England Perpetrator: The NHS. He's since made a full recovery and has now gone private.
If we disband congress, and send 2 jurors from each state to listen to purposed laws, Give bill sponsors, lobbyiest,lawers,citizens, time in front of this jury, sequester the jury so they are not bought by lobbyist, then we might find impartial verdicts and better laws to live by. My Mom has Hyperkyphosis, and still takes care of my Gram at home. She argues regularly with her insurance company to apporove meds and procedures for her. Its almost a full time job calling them up to beg. I don't think most people realize that if you end up with something debilitating that the insurance company becomes your healthcare God telling you yes you can have this no you can't have that until it too late.

A growing number of jobs simply don't provide health coverage. Those who do are actively cutting back and making workers pay more and more out of their own pocket. I have an interesting story for you 'bigpoppa800'. I once worked at major University and teaching hospital. I was still on the 3 month probation period when I use my health insurance to go the ER with a massive headache. The bill the my insurance had to pay, after all the test, was $45,000. I was let go from work.

The greed continues. Many private medical records are sent to countries like India & Pakistan for transcription, because they will work for so little money. Many health records also have personal ID, SS#'s, etc. with them, and those go offshore, too. Those important records are being transcribed by people for whom English is a 2nd language, and many mistakes get made. Meanwhile, experienced US transcriptionists make far less money now than 25 years ago. Something is VERY wrong, here.

I was given 300 mg. Floxin for a minor infection. After 10 days both legs were swollen, and felt pins and needles. Two tendons had partial ruptures, 9 years later, I am in constant pain in muscles, nerves, tendons still and need to take 8 medications. I cannot work and cannot have a normal life. Sometimes all I want is for both legs to be amputated. My hands, elbows, and shoulders are in pain and are swollen...from doing practically nothing.

My friend was diagnosed with Breast cancer last year and started chemo 2 days after her diagnosis she has endured a year of treatment and am happy to say is doing great! Our health care system is not perfect but I would rather my tax dollars go to health care than to a war that should never have happened. Hope Americans wake up!

7 months ago I took 1 300 mg dose of Cipro. for the first 4 months afterwards i experienced horrible nerve pains all over my body, muscle cramping and twitching, and tendinitis in my achilles tendons. I still expereince these side effects, to a lesser degree, 7 months after taking the pill. I was never warned that these side effects could persist for so long. In fact, I was NEVER warned about the nerve pain or muscle cramps and twitches. It has been Hell.

It takes some time to see a doctor here in Canada but faster means more taxes so the important part is that you get served in a timely manner.
Tks a lot Mr. Moore for your Patriotism, can you imagine that for many people in our country the last 2 election results for the American president was more important than our own, Canada is in a similar position as Austria was 70 years ago.
Your movie was excellent a must for everyone!!!

BLUETIB, we have to wait to see specialists here (typically 4 to 8 weeks- sometimes longer). Never let them take your health care system away. I saw on an Australian website that American "health" "ins" companies were advertising themselves -call for free quote etc. If the Aussies buy it, they're crazy.

Hi, Mike. I've got a nasty medica horror story for you. My best friend came down with DVT and almost died a few years ago. A few days later was thrown out of the hospital at 3am to make room for another patient. Location: England Perpetrator: The NHS. He's since made a full recovery and has now gone private.

If we disband congress, and send 2 jurors from each state to listen to purposed laws, Give bill sponsors, lobbyiest,lawers,citizens, time in front of this jury, sequester the jury so they are not bought by lobbyist, then we might find impartial verdicts and better laws to live by. The problem with a capitolist government is that everybody is for sale. Moores movie barley scratches the surface of what is going on in DC.

Bip Poppa Not everyone can get those jobs (nit picking bkgrd chks etc and w/ a "labor shortage"- that's another story) You may know of 20 places where a person can get healthcare. Did you watch the film? What quality? What cost? I just had to pay a $50 copay for a month's supply of drugs. Why do I have ins? Millions of companies no longer provide ins and those numbers are rising rapidly. Most of the I-got-miners are now starting to SEE. Big Time.

Hellotimetogo, I would like to be hospitalized in France which has the gold standard. If you saw the film, you'd know how we compare to other countries in terms of health care. PS: We ALL have or will have health issues no matter what you do - just breathing the polluted air of some areas can do it. Accident, genes, age, etc. Get the picture - you may not be fat but you sure as hell are vulnerable. Lose the denial.

Wow, when i read some of these comments, its like some of you are happy paying ridiculous prices for prescriptions, paying both high taxes AND high insurance rates, being in danger of being denied coverage when you do (AND YOU WILL) find yourself ill or injured, and knowing that some of your fellow WORKING (which means tax-paying) Americans continue to make tough decisions between expensive medical treatment and the life of a loved one or themselves. Now thats sick.

Mr. Moore does great work. It is complete ignorance for someone to believe that they should get a job for insurance benefits. There are some interesting things about Mr. Moore. He talks about Health Care and what have you but he is OBESE; and if we would like to continue to be informed by him let me be the first to offer him my fitness services.

I just saw this movie and it confirmed what I have believed all along about healthcare in this country. We are in trouble here. As Moore says in the film, "Until America becomes a country of 'we' instead of 'me' we will continue to have these problems. as an older American I'm ready to move to London or France just to get the healthcare that I am beginnning to need! See this movie!!

There truly are some people who have excellent ins. I know that is so because two of my siblings have it...
so far. One's in gov and her ins is being "looked at" The other works in NYC where there are still some decent corps. with a conscience. I USED to have it. So don't be an I-got-miner 'cause your day may very well be coming. Corp takeovers happen, new insurance rules, etc. Have you had a major illness? That's often when people find out just how good there ins is or more often is NOT.

My Mom has Hyperkyphosis, and still takes care of my Gram at home. She argues regularly with her insurance company to apporove meds and procedures for her. Its almost a full time job calling them up to beg. I don't think most people realize that if you end up with something debilitating that the insurance company becomes your healthcare God telling you yes you can have this no you can't have that until it too late.

He was constantly disgusted with (every) administration he's worked for decisions to let healthcare keep heading toward a profit making enterprise. Before coming to the US I lived in France for 12 years. My children were born in France and we used extensively daycare, preschool and health care in France.
After seeing Sicko, I can confirm that everything said about France is correct, in some cases even understated.
I personally think some things work great in capitalism, but education, health care and retirement should not be left to speculation and profit. They should be granted and accessible to everyone.

I against overweight people getting medicine due to their obesity. It is different if someone has legit disease or something, but many americans are fat, more americans are lazy and unwilling to exercise, and even more americans are looking for a free handout or what someone else can do for them. The reason that so many American's are overweight could be due to the fact that the FDA approves all the addictive additives allowed in your food. Read. If you don't know what that ingredient is, don't eat it. Metabolism diseases are on an increase. Due to no fault of their own some obese people can't loose the weight without expert medical attention. Doctors are not taught nutrition or adrenals/thyroid in medical School. Don't be so harsh on obese people. It doesn't help them.

Even if we get universal healthcare how will that lower costs if people continue to live unhealthy lifestyles? A growing number of jobs simply don't provide health coverage. Those who do are actively cutting back and making workers pay more and more out of their own pocket. All you do when you make that argument is make things easier for the CEOs of big healthcare companies to continue scamming ordinary people. I have an interesting story for you 'bigpoppa800'. I once worked at major University and teaching hospital. I was still on the 3 month probation period when I use my health insurance to go the ER with a massive headache. The bill the my insurance had to pay, after all the test, was $45,000. I was let go from work.

because if everyone got those 20 jobs, there wont be anyone working the other hundreds of other jobs that doesnt give health insurance and if hypothetically everyone were to get those 20 jobs then the salaries for those jobs would decrease so much that the employees would not get a decent salary

You failed to mention fact that in Britain if your are not happy with the NHS you have the opportiunity to take out private health insurance cost one third of the USA.
The sooner polititions start talking abot the fact that polititions are ghere to line there own pockets and not to help us then perhaps the situation mighjt improve.Healthcare must be taken away from insurance companies. In other countries drugs are not advertised on TV. business in other countries.
