  • he took my favorite song of his and screwed it all up and the fuck wants eighty bucks a throw now . Clapton hardly charges that and he will NEVER be that good

  • Joe has sucked for seven years now . Kenny wayne can smoke his ass in his sleep

  • what scale is this in??

  • What's wrong with Joe's eyes?

  • Awesome! Bravo!

  • @Chromatype:The 2 best guitarists in the world. What's your point?

  • Joe bonamassa is great!

  • 2:16. chills.

  • in this particular concert, Clapton is givin Bonamassa a lesson in singing and playing.

  • You know you've made it when you are performing with Eric Clapton

  • When Clapton started at his solo i got chills all down my back, however that didn't happen when i heard Joe's solo. Joe is a fantastic guitar player there is no doubt about it but unfortunately i don't think he will ever be the same legend like for example Clapton..

  • This is the best live performance I've ever seen.

  • @dwaileebe you don't get out much do you?

  • I wonder if Joe gets drunk if you actually understand what he's singing? :D

  • Wow Bonamassa sounds like a combination of SRV's singing voice and clapton's singing

  • No Bonamassa is not in the same leauge as Clapton Mick Taylor Peter Green Billy Gibbons Duane Hendrix Steve, it just feels that he´s been practising to much. He copy stuff but doesnt get his own thing! Thats the difference between legends and just great guitarplayers!

  • @dotzek3 Nice grammar there, champ!

  • @dotzek3 Your failure to sound like your heroes is what makes you sound like you.

  • @Heliocopter8 Wow I never thought about it like that. But wow, your right.

  • @dotzek3 well bro, Billy Gibbons himself said that originating music was left to the guys way back then (Muddy Waters, T. Bone Walker, Jimmy Reed, B.B King) and that ZZ Top is just an interpretation of their music so to speak. IMO same thing applies to the majority of the guys you just named, so why not give Bonamassa a chance?

  • Simply amazing!

  • Bona has the edge on Vai ...He can sing better !!! Clapton needs to shoot the sheriff!!

His day in the sun is over ... I bet he swallowed real hard after watching Joe B... smoke his ass !!

  • i love clapton's warm tone.

  • Clapton is not good enuff to even share the same stage as Joe here !!

But Stevie Vai can make a run here !!!

  • someone needed to put a smile in Clapton's face for God sake!!

  • Damn, those were some hot licks being played.

  • This dude channels every guitar master - Clapton, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray, Son House, Eric Johnson, Skunk Baxter, Page, Beck, Robben Ford on and on, then puts his own spin on the lot of them. Truly gifted. The mantel has been passed to a new master. And he can sing!

  • @ukecantdothat

You forgot about Steve Vai dude !!!

Fuck all those other dudes !!

Bonamassa and Vai are the 2 best in the world at present !!!

  • @onlyafterdarkness I can't forget Vai! He's part of the "on and on..." I mentioned. Add Steve Morse and Adrian Belew to the list, too... And Zappa (Frank, not Dweezel), Ry Cooder, and... see? "On and on..." But Joe is at the top of my blues list right now.

  • @ukecantdothat

At least we agree on something ... Both own it !!!!

If I had to start a band ??? I would take ....BOTH

  • @onlyafterdarkness Now that's a band I would like to see! Also, not a strictly blueser or a shredder but a pure player's player is Aussie, Tommy Emmanuel. That guy makes me hang my sorry ass in shame. All these guys have one thing in common: The practice/play 'til their fingers literally bleed!

  • @ukecantdothat Although I agree that Joe is a very good guitar player I have to tell you that this ain't no blues. Call it bluesrock, or popblues, or powerblues if you want. For the real blues you'll have to take a listen to people like Robert Johnson, Son House, Charlie Patton, Sleepy John Estes, and the like.

  • @Bluesblaster buddy guy?

  • @Bluesblaster Oh, I know. I mean of course "blues" in today's sense. Good call on Sleepy John! I'll also give you Hound Dog Taylor, Skip James, Otis Rush, Mississippi John Hurt, Bukka White, Charlie Patton, Blind Blake. on and on... A rich history! Yeah, Joe is an all-round picker, does Django to Deep Purple. Thanks for the reminder!

  • That was amazing.

  • ... oh and I almost forgot the Great Gary Moore

  • It doesn't get any better than that. What I love most about it is, you have two monster players who a gracious and humble. Joes solo's are gritty with the Les Paul and conversly Erics are smooth with the Strat. In a way this is Erics way of 'passing the torch" ( not to say Erics career is over, because he is God and of coarse will live forever) but factor in how young Joe is and image where his career will take him. Johnson, Guy, Hendrix, Albert King, Clapton, Stevie Ray, and Mr. Joe Bonamassa.

  • Oy!!!!!!! With Derek... Memories...

  • CAN THEY PLAY A GUITAR,YES THE HELL THEY CAN

  • This is so very great!!!!!

  • It's nice to see that Eric Clapton can still play good blues. This was a real treat!

  • the way they went lick for lick was awesome!! Unbelievable!!

  • jam of a lifetime..... holy crap!

  • I have seen both of these Masters at work and they sound awesome together !!

  • Wowza - this is the best thing I have ever seen/heard! AM-A-ZING!!!!

  • best two man guitar thing ever

  • How much fun is this, wiwt...

  • Two guitarists so sure of their chops that they don't need to "compete," but lend the best to this old chesnut of a tune. Lovely stuff! There is no competition, just the drive to produce compelling music.

  • wow! how good are they. I havn't seen EC get off so much on a guitar duel for a long time...

  • Thy had to have had a ball doin this

  • it look like a guitar battle

  • this just makes me smile and feel warm inside and wish i coud play a guitar . i want to see this happen again with Kenny Wayne Shepherd joining in as well.

  • it doesn't get any better than this!

  • for me the best white blues guitarist ever will always be stevie ray vaughan he was the closest thing to the second coming of hendrix i think we will ever get clapton is a great player but i would rate him slightly under srvs skill range and joe is a very good guitarist but i think he needs to develop his own style more because in many of the songs ive heard him play he sounds too similar to eric for my liking but is still 1 billion times better than justin bieber arghhh

  • @shredmaster100 Why on earth do you feel it necessary to mention colour here?? Colour's got nothing to do with it and I should imagine that Hendrix if he were alive today would be marvelling at how far things have moved (musically. There is no best blues guitarist, just the one you like the best. Guitarists aren't gunslingers which is why EC, JB, Robben Ford, Derek Trucks, Buddy Guy, BB King, Robert Cray, Jack Pearson, Jeff Beck and many others will all happily share a stage.

  • there is a reason in my opinion the best blues players were the originals from the deep south they did things with the guitar that were unheard of at the time people like robert johnson sun house muddy waters t bone walker buddy guy albert king albert collins bb king all of them were way ahead of their times

  • 0:22 he want to fight.

  • thanks for this! amazing!

  • Joe was mean muggin Clapton. I like it.

  • I love how Clapton simply can't step on normal ground.

  • if like this listen to tequila dealer awesome

  • Joe really has to be the best going today

  • see what happens when somebody pushes Eric a bit ?? He don't back down. great stuff.

  • Dead on about the bass player, he is right in the pocket. Horns are great and the rhythm section is tight. The guitar playing goes without saying...Brilliant. One Great the other destined to be great. This guy is unreal.

  • that bass is right in the pocket! great version

  • the horns are way too loud...kills the guitar solos

    this sucks

  • joe bonamassa is the michael bubble of blues guitar

bubble sucks balls and never would have gotten a job during the 50's when sinatra was the man

and this joe b...he sings too much like stevie ray vaughn did..what a bore

when claptons on..he kills this greaseball

  • PLEASE EVERYONE CHECK OUT SOME OF MY GUITAR VIDS. IM A YOUNG BLUES ROCK GUITARIST AND I REALLY WANT YOUR FEEDBACK!!! CHEERS!! PLEASE LIKE THIS SO EVERYONE CAN SEE IT, IT WILL HELP THE NEXT GENERATION OF THE BLUES!!!

    LONG LIVE ROCK 'N' ROLL

  • And Joe Bonamassa didn't make the latest Rolling Stone top 100 greatest guitarists. Right.

  • 4:54 is one of the best moments i've ever seen on a live performance... the moment they hit the same note and play pretty much the same riff... and look at eric's expression on 4:58 he is amazed...!

  • @cpfmoreira Couldn't agree more! I'm a bit of a geek with Clapton stuff and I can't honestly remember seeing him have that kind of smile in ANY other video I've watched.

  • I used to be able to play like this until I took an arrow to the knee.

  • goddamn E P I C

  • Who is Justin Bieber?? Where is Justin Bieber??HEHE!!

  • what a waist of time...

    they both suck... soulless CRAP!!

  • @jacekszwarc you are the biggest idiot of all time.

  • @jacekszwarc Blues purist much?

  • Superb! Thanks so much for this. I saw Joe for my first time last night and was lucky enough to be in the second row and got some great up close video - uploading now.

  • Incredible...............holy shit !!!!

  • I saw him a few weeks ago in Birmingham. The easiest way to describe how amazing it was is to say.. It's like Agent Smith with a Les Paul... and there is a glitch in the Matrix.

  • Why would anyone dislike this epicness ? ? It's freaking like the Most Awesome thing ever!!! :)

  • the audience is the luckiest bunch ever.

  • Coool! A new fav.Ashamed to say I was just turned on to Joe but he's got it.Got to live the blues to play the blues.Still waiting on Kenny Wayne to get his.BTW if any of ya ass hair picking shoulder biting critics have any worthy licks let's hear'em be glad to listen

  • Great to see everyone both on and off stage enjoyin' themselves and just having a great time with the Blues.

It should be compulsory in school. Then, maybe, in 20 years time- in spite of climate change- the world would be just that bit more cooler?

P.s; SRV merry Christmas, and please come back .

  • white blues?

  • @will30x check out Roy Buchanan or SRV if you doubt white blues

  • so who's that hack that joe just shitted on?

  • @Poppo2468 OH BOY! One of those amateur attitudes.. Lighten up pal. Apparently you are def then and very, very sensitive. Mistakes are REAL and to me totally acceptable. I guess you live in a perfect world where you are god. Well, welcome back to the real world where we all make a mistake sooner or later. Plus, it's blues so it don't really matter. Was just a lighthearted comment. I am an IDIOT because I noticed something you didn't, or just can't comprehend. Cheers to the newbs!

  • Agent Smith is rocking the shit out of that Les Paul.

  • 2 of the 3 loves of my life.....woo hoo!

  • takin lessons fae THE master a see !! Cant teach that shit, really you cant!

  • @gazzaboy2531977 I have no idea what you just said... Something about taking lessons

  • @TheManInBlack2003 you got the idea i see though

  • @TheManInBlack2003 you got the idea i see though

  • what a heap of sanitized shite that is... it's like a cliché of the blues... available now at all good service stations...

  • @roonster314

are you talking about this song?

  • @infinityjet

yes I am... It's as much blues as Michael Buble is jazz... Awful, soulless musak... for people who have already given up on life...

  • @roonster314

okay well thats your opinion i guess and everyones entitled to it....but i personally think its one of the best bits of blues rock thats ever been performed - two of the worlds greatest guitar players trading licks and solos

  • @infinityjet

Sorry but this is the sterile version the Robbie Robertson/Clapton duel from The Last Waltz...

  • @roonster314

again, your opinion, but in today's music situation i think anyone who is into blues rock/rock music should appreciate everything they get because it's so rare nowadays

  • Hey CHECK MY BLUES ROCK BAND! PLEASE!

  • watch?v=nLHogiZ5QIY&feature=related

    New orleans blues!

  • what's the tone of this song?

  • @jofo442

    i´s in g major

  • Comment removed

  • That would be the single most uplifting 6:03 of my entire life !

  • I love when listening to this song on my Iphone, I get to the riff at 3:50

I smile to myself and think: "oh yeah, thats clapton"

  • There's something you don't see everyday. Rockin Big Time!

  • @Fotzkopp1980 Hey dude , glad I found you again . I've been listening or did to RIP Irish Gary Moore . Your right , he's fantastic in every note and song and has a heavier voice than Bona right now . The only blueser I still see that can play with Gary is still Bona . I have to disagree with yu that GM is ahead of Bona . His style , technique , emotions into blues is immaculate . He's on stage in suit n' shades with class , clean cut , not a whit behind GM . Would loved to seen em play together

  • Bonammasa is a class player .... he comes on stage in suit and shades clean cut , not a beach bum . He CAN shred like Hendrix or Page and is every bit as good as RIP Gary Moore . His style , his voice not yet found , he is a class immaculate act blueser . The best that is still alive , this is the best duel I've ever seen on this level . He could have left Clapton in the dust . I like Clapton , but only Irish Gary Moore can hold a candle to him . I Would have loved to seen them play together . ^

  • Really outstanding!

  • Dazzling.

  • you don´t need... I mean. He is not the fstest player, but he has an incredible instinct to play what he is good at: the blues.... his playing is s emotional, his technique is impecable and his tone amazing. He is a blues player, not a r&r player.

  • @hungerstriker27

if you're talking about Joe, then you should check out some of his other vids because he when he wants to play fast he can...and i mean FAST...check out the solo from just got paid from the north sea jazz festival for example

  • @captainzodiac123

he is not overrated... he can´t shred like hendrix or page, but he can play the blues as no one else, and he has a class in his playing that is undeniable. You doesn´t need to pla fast to be a geat guitar player

  • @captainzodiac123 They're both amazing!!!!PERIOD!!!

  • I dont know why, but I can't stand Eric Crapton. Not even together with Joe Bonamassa, who is one of my fav guitarists.

  • joe is like a modern clapton lol

  • fuck clapton the racist bastard!

  • @MrFARQIE fuck you , twat!

  • 15 people are deaf and only see a bunch of people in a big room

  • You have to love watching two

talented musicians so obviously enjoying what they do.

  • ok, one of the most iconic guitar players of all time, the man with the record of the largest list of performances in the RAH (It´s true, google it) and joe.... possibly the best player alive now.... at the full of his potential. strat vs les paul.... seriously, someone who dislike.... tell us why.... not a clue... lack of soul?

  • Clapton, what a voice !!!

  • Clapton !!! What a voice !!!

  • I have the whole concert and It was awesome!!!!Buy it..NOW:)

  • @saucymauve Right and in Blu-Ray!!!!!!

  • tolles lied (vor allem wenn der zweite gitarrist unser clapton ist ;-)

  • what class-they're the "bollocks of the dog!

  • awesome, nEITHE ARE THE BEST, BOTH ARE great!

  • Supervet!

  • i think its wrong to compare guitarists with each other, they all have different syles of playing,Eric for me has been there and done it his playing is now mature and subtle, some of you guys think its a battle,Eric and most of the great players dont really care who is supposed to be the best, for them its the music

  • man you guys are so stuck on Eric..do y'all have any idea how many great guitar players are out there now?..this is not the 60's 70's or 80's its here n now..so try and be open minded! one other name comes to mind that is really good is..John Mayer... and yes Eric had to shine in on him to..all the same Eric is legend, just aint got what he had..sheeeeeeesh..Stevie ray Vaughn slayed Eric many times..just like the new guys are now..come onnnnnnnnnn

  • @ltuomela John Mayer sucks, he's technically good but his songs sounds like some shitty pop...

  • @Hlotar well check some of his live concert stuff and see how wrong you are...thats all gotta say..

  • ERIC CLAPTON IS GOD FOREVER

  • Two great legends on the same stage Fantastic

  • One in every crowd, but there's 14 in this one that dislikes this...

Those 14 must have been looking for Lady Gaa Dee Blaa and came accross real music

  • My day just got a whole lot better having watched this!! Brilliant!

  • These guys have a wicked connection. Maybe Joe is a Clapton groupie child from the 70s lol.

  • @dontdamnme84

in fact, in some wicked, weird , twisted, odd way... he is. This very song is the song that catch joe into the blues and eric is his major influence. He have said that the first time he saw a guitar was in a vid of the farewell cream concert in the RAH, and in that moment he wanted to learn guitar

  • 2 of the best players... I think eric is probably the mo iconic guitar player alive (with BB, buddy, jeff beck.... and srv and hendrik if they were alive) and joe is the best player right now. This may cause discomfort, but I´m going to say first that i am a huge eric fan. but joe is in his 30´s. I think he could go over eric in this one, but obviously didnt for respect. and the you have the fender strat vs the gibson lp

  • Even Clapton seems to be havin' a blast!

  • Just watched it again for the umpteenth time! Will be seeing Joe @ The Hippodrome in Baltimore November 11th. Goin' crazy just waitin'!

  • 14 people have broken computer speakers.

  • I hate to admit it, especially as the owner of a LP, but the Strat may have won that battle!

  • @jemrecycling

same here.... the strat tone it´s just the right one....I would love to hear joe playing a golg top 56.... but is not only the strat.... eric is still the master

  • "there always two... a master... and an apprentice..." .-Yoda. Ok, it´s just amazing... I think that I would die from a heart attack if I had the chance to see that in the first rows.... joe is so excited... He said this very song was the one that caught his attention to blues. Now, Hideaway (Also the clapton version) was that song for me. If I had the chance to play it in duet with eric... I can´t even imagine joe´s emption during that 4 minutes

  • My guitar just jumped out of its case, and flung itself off the balcony.

  • Alexinswfla, you are so right!!!!

  • Two of the three best on one stage. WOO HOO!

  • only way to justify a dislike on this song is to be Deaf Dumb and Blind. And probably retarded too

  • @alexinswfla

no.... just retarded, plain stupid.... or if you are a robot

  • simply one of the best perfomances of EC with a tremendous guitar player

  • oooooo that tone from Joe's guitar....I wish Clapton would go back to playing his ES 335 for those fat Cream(y) tones

  • I love this Guy. It's been along time coming. We've been waiting for some one this good. It won't be long till Joe is on top. Good Luck Joe Love ya

  • Hi, Great job. Do you like Joe Bonamassa?? Take a look at my band's page.

Search "TomRBand" on youtube. We play "The great flood" by bonamassa at a gig in Mo i Rana - Norway.

  • who couldn't this man Play with! What a compliment to todays artists and those whom have gone before him, I have really enjoyed this find of my weekend 10/18/11, makes me want to contact Paul Piper from K. C. Whom worked at Ford. Jim in Bolivar mo

  • It's comments like "Joe has more soul" that makes it sure for me, that most of the cunts watching this were born in the late 90s.

    Go Joe. Shine on Eric.

  • Clapton is awesome , joe bonamassa too !

  • Seriously, how do you justify a "dislike" on this video?!?

  • @flatbedmusic Stupidity?

  • @flatbedmusic you don't.
