  • Brilliant, fantastic example of BRITISH design and engineering. Beautiful aircraft.

  • why are people comparing B-52s to Vulcan?

    wtf!

  • Amazingly short take-off roll. Cool airplane.

  • Awesome footage. Yes, only it's motherland would love it's looks. It proved itself as a deterant. Did its job. Leave the poor Vulcan alone, otherwise it it come over your house and bomb the crap out of you.

  • vulcans are shite

  • "The howl ... you know that Vulcan howl ... the whole airfield. Sounds like ... victory.

Someday this proud era of British engineering ingenuity will end ... "

  • nice vidoe but it was not its first flight

  • I didn't realise it had such a short take off, what was its landing distance approx?

  • i remember quite vividly the first time i saw a vulcan bomber in flight - it was in 1978 on the nbc television show america alive which aired weekday mornings. i remember seeing one in flight and for an aviation enthusiast like me it was love at first sight! GO MIGHTY BRITANNIA!

  • I saw that at Southport yesterday. Wouldn't it be awesome if they did a memorial flight with the V force like in 1957.

  • Awesome and makes you proud to have served in the RAF!! Long live XH558

  • The fact that the B52s are still flying tells me that America cant build anything better, all of the great designers are to old and there's no one to replace them because the younger generation are fat as fuck from growing up eating burgers and wanting to be rappers. I hear B52s are dropping any old shit out of them these days old WW2 bombs that they never used, there was even reports of them using Big Mac guided weapons throw one out and a 30 stone fat yank will follow.

  • remarkable aircraft :)

  • WOW!!! Listen to that howl!!! Superb

  • bloody spams! everything is 'us this' and 'us that' for god's sake spam get a life and realise the world doesn't end at your borders.

  • There is nothing in the world that beats that sound!!

  • Was this at Bruntingthorpe? I was there in 2000 and Dave Walton and Dave Thomas gave me a tour of the jet.

  • I bet the 4 dislikes are from Argentinians!

  • I was there sat on the roof of my landrover.... i watched her land years before a never thought she would return to the skies.... can say it was an emotional day for all concerned.....

  • I sat in the shade under the wing of a Vulcan at an airshow when I was about 13 years old. Thought it was a beautiful aircraft then and still do, 40+ years later.

  • GAFAAAAA That's not what I meant... Look close real close

  • that's lovely that is, I remember when I first saw her after the rebuild at kemble fanbloodytastic she didn't takeoff or land but I got to see that at fairford I hope to see again later this year (2011) I donated a bit to keep her in the air last year

  • 0:25 and 0:13

  • I forgot 2 say my friend and I saw 2 and they literally took off right in front of us and it was so loud we screamed as loud as we could and we didn't here our screams

  • This is one of the oldest bombers with that sound. B-2s and many other bombers came so much later and WTF is that on the left wing!?!?

  • @1kelseysmith that on the left wing is called a landing gear, they're pretty useful, theres one on the right too! ...and in the middle.

  • what the fuck am i talking about

  • @sprig3432 wtf are you talking about?

  • copy cats that's the b2 bomber same sound and shit. Now all you need is an ak47 an acog scope, sholder stock a grip and youve got yourself an m4a1. Looks like Russians like to copy the Yankees.

  • never get tired of hearing this, awesome.

  • B52 is a flying hunk of shit.

  • What an awesome noise! There's one in the NE Aircraft Musuem near me and in the Imperial War Musuem in Cambridge. The sheer scale of the thing is hard to take in. Deadly-looking stood still and silent, let alone if it was armed and going full pelt. Great video close386, thanks.

  • Makes you proud to be british.

  • Notice the short distance of runway from standing to take off!...and that haunting intake howl always sends a shiver down my spine.

  • im confused which one of u thinks the b52 is better ?

  • @raf4jack Thats easy: the fat Yankee called "Jers59" (AKA "Jarhead59" or "Burger Flipper").

Apache is a frind of mine & has been helping to deal with this Vagabond for some time.

  • dam thats the shortest takeoff ive ever seen

  • @MrHyper728 That's thanks to the Vulcan (& the Victor too) being Designed for High Speed Short take off's, This was to prevent being caught on the ground by a Soviet Priemtive Strike on British Airfields.

  • @AmFearLiathMor V bombers never flew over the most heavily defended by AA protection area (North Vietnam) in aviation history the B52 did, vulcan bomber only combat dropped couple bombs on argie airstrip protected by unmotivated conscripts no SAMS. vulcans never flew operation chrome dome missions vulcan bomb load 21.000LBS same as WW2 B29 bomber B52 72000 LBS the 52 was faster had lot more combat radius and is recognized by every aviation expert as greatest bomber eber nothing is even close.

  • @jers59 I got you!!.. you are not American. The language gives you away...

Folks - This pro bullshitter is not a yank. REPEAT not a yank. You're no more American that Yuri Gagarin

  • @AmFearLiathMor Only thing I found out about skyshield it pissed a lot of people off by grounding all airliners and some V bomber penetrated the air space over gander in Canada I will buy you atlas for Xmas. october 12 1958 Vulcan B1XA908 crashes in Detroi, August 12 1978 Vulcan B2XL390 crashes in Glenview ILLONOIS

  • @AmFearLiathMor Get over your petty jealousy anyone with little interest knows the B52 is the greatest bomber in aviation history in fact the V bomber does not even make the top 10 list. B52 first flew in 1952 entered service 1955 still in service and will be to 2045 vulcan left service mid 1980,s had only 30 year life expectance . I still see you cannot give me the info about century fighters. Another liar outed.

  • @jers59 "another Liar outed".. Newsflash - No Funding for B52 Training in FY2014. Guess it's OOS date will be a good bit closer than 2045. Like i told you once already, if you waffle - stand ready to take some back. In this case, it's the harsh reality of Obama Economics. Freedom of Information requests are 'Freely Available'.. Your DofD only too happy to supply such.

Unless that is you are willing to ignore the facts on the DofD website and call them liars too??

  • @strontiumdog19 keep dreaming get over your jealousy the B52 will be in service to 2940 maybe latter when V bomber left service 1984 the B1 will leave service before the B52 and US bombers B52 and B1 droped over 70% of the bombs on afghanistan . You been spouting the same bullshit for months. Senators in Louisiana and North Dakota wil keep B52 flying

  • @jers59 You, my good fellow are as American as a Volvo Truck. Admit it, and stop embarassing yourself.

However, Obama Economics are American - And very real. No B52 in 2049... indeed, none past 2018.

  • @strontiumdog19 Get over your petty jealousy of the greatest bomber ever built the B52, Right now B52,s are being fitted with CONECT which will improve there mission capability missions with ground forces the B52 is most mission capable bomber 80% and will stay in service until 2040 get over it. only V bombers left are sitting pretty in museums or have been scrapped and recycled into smart cars

  • @jers59 The B52 is a flying hunk of shit which is yet to bomb any country with credible air defence, sure go carpet bomb all the taliban you want with a B52 and good luck doing it, the Vulcan did the job it was supposed to do, it was no longer needed as we are not war mongering fat morons. Talk about jelousy......funny your hear watching a video on the Vulcan...hmmmmmm. You wish it had a big stars and stripes painted on it don't you :)

  • @bazman85 Moron The B52 flew against the most heavily defended airspace in history North Vietnam Christmas day bombing the B52 faced 1200 SAMS and won the battle forcing the gooks back to the peace table. Jealous twerps such as yourself who cannot face the facts US built the greatest bomber by far in aviation history the B52, greatest fighter the F15, greatest transport DC3 and C130. US Navy today can take on the next 20 biggest navies in 1 battle and defeat them

  • @bazman85 The Vbombers were flying piece of shit could only carry 21.000LBS of bombs the B52 could carry 70.000LBS of bombs fly faster had much larger combat radius vulcan only combat mission drops couple bombs on undefended argie airstrip that WW2 B29 could have bombed with no difficulty

  • @jers59 Talk all the shit you want, B52 v gooks, hmmmm like i said very good for carpet bombing countries with no credible air defence. Waaaaaa. Fuck your B52 up your mothers fishy cunt hole. Nobody here cares about it, it's a Vulcan video, the Vulcan....the Plane you wish was yours, or you wouldn't be watching this video.

  • @bazman85 your mother and sister were banged by entire US airforce fighter wing in UK and your grandmother took on the entire 8th airforce in WW2

  • @jers59 Ohhh WW2 now :) thanks for the help. You were about 2 years late assholes!!! Leave it to tiny Britain to declare war on the Nazi's,... pussy's. Then you go dock nearly your entire naval fleet in 1 place and wait for the Japs to attack, good job.

  • @bazman85 scapa flow after war is declared kraut U boat sails into it like its on sunday cruise torpedoes and sinks RN battleship HMS Royal Oak, Pearl harbor some old obsolete battleships were sunk 4 months latter US attacks jap mainland first time in hundreds of years, 6 months at Midway US sinks 4 of 6 jap carriers used at PH, inbred royal family were closeted nazi supporters

  • @jers59 You ARE the weakest link, goodbye.

  • @bazman85 You are the village idiot

  • @jers59 I've seen your pathetic comments on the other Vulcan video's Your either a fat rascist pig or a very jelous little man. No wonder half the world hates you.

  • @bazman85 only half have to do better want to know what loser is? look in mirror

  • @jers59 So you have decided to troll on this video now.

The Vulcan is better looking, sounds better than the B-52 and keep the Russians at bay.

Also the Vulcan's took part in the Black Buck Raids which had made the Vulcan's be in the air for over 16 hours and fly a distance of 8,000 miles total to bomb the occupied and illegally held Stanley Airport or "BAM Malvinas" and then had to dodge modern AA guns, missiles etc... Also the Vulcan's had to out fly the entire Argentine Air Force.

  • @Apache757 The B52 looks better certainly looks more fearsome the B52 flew the operation chrome dome missions not the vulcan and B52 kept the Soviets out of western union not the vulcan with its WW2 size bomb load, B52 can fly faster, farther and flew over the most heavily defended airspave in history, North Vietnam. Argie airforce no Sams and only 16 hours, B52s have flown 35 hour bombing missions and owns just about every bomber record there is Also only jet bomber to shoot down enemy aircraft

  • @jers59 "Argie airforce no Sams" HAHA they were using advanced French and even British SAM missiles hahaha.

The Vulcan kept the Russian bears at bay. lolol

  • @Apache757 What Sams give me the names exocet is not SAM you idiot. Vulcans kept the russians at bay,LOL LOL LOL The soviets never lost 1 swcond of sleep worrying about some light weight pseudo bomber It was operation chrome dome, US boomers another american invention, and US minuteman and MX missiles that kept the soviets at bay

  • @jers59 Did I say exocet? idiot!!!!

The Vulcan kept the Russian bears at bay, denying that is denying a fact

  • @Apache757 soviets lost 0 seconds of sleep worrying about obsolete V bombers with bomb carrying capability of WW2 bomber. You still cannot tell me what SAMS the argies had. caught in another lie

  • @jers59 You never asked for the AA weapons names you idiot.

    Here they are BTW,

Tiger Cat optically guided anti aircraft missile battery

    Roland radar-guided anti-aircraft missile battery

    35mm Oerlikon AA cannons

    20mm Rheinmetall AA cannons

    With AN/TPS 43 or 44 long-range search radar.

At the time none of these things were obsolete.

So if the Vulcan's didn't keep the bears at bay then why were the bears not in our airspace. I'l tell you why, the Vulcan.

  • @Apache757 Not only were TU95 in your airspace the TU16 was in your air space. WW2 bomber could have bombed argie airport

  • @jers59 Ha, no it wasn't you liar!! A WW2 bomber could not have travelled 8,000 miles.

  • @Apache757 Wrong again B29 could be aerial refuelled

  • @jers59 What, 16 times?

  • @Apache757 1945 B29 bomber named Pacusan Dreamboat flew 7.916 miles, After WW2 B29 often flew nonstop from Japan to US. The RAF knew how advanced the B29 was they used them called Washington bomber

  • @jers59 ha ha ha ha your so pathetic, you see this IS why the world hates the USA, because your all arrogant one sided rascist wankers! Go away and wank over your B52 on a B52 video, nobody cares what you have to say you silly fat tosser. Everybody knows what happens to B52's when you try fly a display

**fairchild** thats why you can only see the hunk of shit B52 do a takeoff at displays.

  • @bazman85 you are jealous twerp keep crying over your pint because the US built the best bomber in WW2 the B29 and greatest bomber ever the B52 2 vulcans flying in airshows in US crashed and burned hope you filled the crater in. vulcans were poorly built retired by 1985 The GREATEST bomber ever the B52 will still be flying in 2040 you jealous loser

  • @jers59 Learn how to spell ENGLISH you fat cunt. Funny half your comment is what i said to you. Don't you have a brain to think of your own comments. Your a deluded fool. WHY are you here, this is NOT a B52 you prat!!!! Why all your stupid comments on other Vulcan videos?? Your a sad lonely man!

  • @bazman85 Learn to speak and writer in english you village OAF you are best reason why abortions should be kept legal and cheap better yet place your photo on packages of condoms with warning use these or this will be the result

  • @jers59 Oh great your repeating what i said again, like a parrot, shows what a prat you are. We call you a Weasel in England. You like to say stupid things so that you have people to talk to, you have no friends and your family want nothing to do with you because your a registerd sex pest. This is how you socialise. Loser!

  • @bazman85 you sick perverted bastard the only friends you have are your imaginary friends have you ever been with a woman? and I do not mean sitting next to one on a bus? I say no because no woman would want to have nothing to do with a limp dick loser as yourself

  • @jers59 Oh brilliant repeating what i said again ;) your worse than a retard. Whats up buddy? Did i hit a raw nerve there? Ha ha ha ha ha!!!

  • @bazman85 I thought they did not allow internet acces in drug rehab or insane asylums.

  • @jers59 Tell you what, search "operation skyshield" and see what hapend when NORAD invited the RAF to penetrate it's new billion dollar defence system, all B52's were intercepted, 1 out of 8 RAF Vulcans was intercepted by an F-101, the other 7 hit their targets and landed safely in Newfoundland. So yeah, your hunk of shit B52 is just great, way better than the Vulcan. LOOOOL

  • @bazman85 Tell you wha you atre right the B52 is greatest bomber ever V bombers never make anyone top 10 list B52 flew over the most heavily defended airspace in history North Vietnam and along with B1 dropped over 70% of bombs over afghanistan B52,s will be flying to 2014, Vulcan 1 lousy combat mission against unmotivated argie copnscripts and they needed US Shrike missile to do the job.vulcan retired 1985 dur to it being obsolete

  • @jers59 I think you need to take a chill pill and calm down. You probably know next to nothing about anything so it would help if you shut your piehole and learned that there is a world outside your bedroom. Best regards from a pissed off Brit.

  • @sthill1993 well its best to be pissed off then pissed on

  • @jers59 Touche. Credo ut necesse est tibi tacere!

  • @jers59 It might well fly till 2014 but after how many refits. The B52 we see today is not the one used in Vietnam. That was the "D" which is nothing like the "G"and "H" that you can still see. The Vulcan was only moded once and it also operated in different roles, even as a tanker. Yes you are right, only one combat outing, but it was still the longest bombing raid for some years and it made the enemy sit up and think

  • @MrCagivaman B52,s are undergoing modernization now to better support ground troops and D and G models were used in Vietnam the D for heavier bomb load H models were used for operation chrome dome missions against the soviets

  • @jers59 Your STILL trolling Vulcan videos then you pathetic fat loser. Hate Britain? Hate the Vulcan? You and your pathetic life wouldn't even exist without Britain & quite possibly the Vulcan. So go jerk your deformed little mushroom dick on some crappy B52 video's, fairchild one is a good one, thats what you get when you try fly a B52 like a Vulcan ;) Show a little respect and fuck off.

  • @bazman85 vulcans were banned from US after 2 of them pancaked into US soil leaving large craters behind vulcans contributed 0 to the cold war defence they never flew missions to the soviet border ready to nuke the commies the vulcan only combat mission bombing conscript argie runway and you needed US Shrike missiles to do it. Col Bud Holland was better bomber pilot then any vulcan pilot who never saw combat or flew against the most heavily defended airspace in history North Vietnam

  • @jers59 WHAT are you talking about you pathetic fool, heavily defended with gooks in paddy fields, travelling on the back of water buffalo.... sure buddy. Get a life you OLD MAN, oh sorry, you don't have a life do you. Your that dumb with your one tracked mind you cant even communicate with the opposite sex. Do you wake up in the morning and think hmmmmm what shall i do today, i know i'll troll the Vulcan videos again ( because i'm jelous it's not american) WAAAAAAAAAA learn how to spell FOOL!

  • @bazman85 Jealous twerp The B52 flew over the most heasvily defended airspace in history North Vietnam Hanoi and Haiphon against 1200 soviet SAMS and bombed the gooks back to the peace table something the light weight vulcan with its 21.000 LBS bomb load same as WW2 B29 never could have done, RAF, FAA have failed to produce 1 jet ace At least Im attracted to the opposite sex unlike you the old pillow biter

  • @jers59 Jelous of a B52 that handles like a flying brick, watch "B52 fairchild" video on here, shows the performance and maneuverability DO NOT match the Vulcan. I know your a social outcast and this is how you get to converse with people too. Now YOUR calling me old? Why constantly repeat my own comments back to me? I'm half your age, probably more, with working balls, instead of wrinkly saggy smelly ones. YOUR attracted to trolling videos of the Vulcan because your Jelous it BRITISH! LOSER.

  • @bazman85 Yes jealous because the vulcan was declared obsolete in early 1980,s and retired to be scrapped as it should have been years earlier B52 was older and is still in service and owns just about every bomber record there is from being only jet bomber with air to air kill, longevity, bomb load, combat experiance B52 is at the top of all top 10 bombers V bombers do not even make the list, you enemployed lazy fat scrounger the only girl friend you have is amy winehouse blow up doll.

  • @jers59 Yes your jelous. It's very simple psychology ;) LOSER.

  • @bazman85 Loser look in mirror fired from local chippie living on dole begging for money along Black pool promenade with romas

  • @jers59 I earn more in a year than you probably have in your whole life. Your grammer, manner, reason and ethic prove it. Check your spelling AGAIN you retarded cunt! Then kill yourself.

  • @bazman85 I lost moew money in washing machine then you made in your wasted pathetic life ,Keep wacking off on v bomber and tsr videos.Sorry you were fired from cleaning the mens room at tescos

  • @jers59 You look at how the B52 functioned in 'Nam, Very bleak guidance system. Relied 100% on carpet bombing.

Was just a case of opening the bomb bay doors dropping the bombs and hoping that they hit what they wanted them to. The Vulcan knew what it wanted to hit & got them every time!!

  • @whitewingsrich got them every time? when vulcan flew 1 combat mission just 1 against unmotivated argie conscripts and it needed american shrike missile to do the job. B52 flew the most sucessful bomber campaign ever operation linebacker xmas 1972 against 1200 soviet SAMS B52,s flew in desert storm iraq 2003 and afghanistan where US bombers dropped 75% of the bombs and missilesB52,s will be flying to 2040 Vbombers retired 1985 thats 55 years after vulcan was retired

  • @jers59

AMERICA home of the FAT and Land of the TWAT

  • @CAPTAINSCATFACE twat is something you never had as for fat churchill your great hero was fat drunking bastard scat face is good desription for you for you have shit for brains

  • @jers59 Better than eating shit you fat old pole smoker, still living with your old cunt of a mother in a trailer park wishing you were in the air force. i bet you build airfix models I think its best as an American you don't even talk about planes because we all know you cant even keep control of your own planes. The best piloting skills ever shown in America were by terrorists after a bit of flight sim training and a few single seater lessons LMAO. And they hit everything they were supposed to

  • @CAPTAINSCATFACE scatface with name like that you obvious enjoy having people shit on your fat face you sick bastard pussy come to new york and talk but we all know UK has no dental service so you have no teeth in your fat mouth you low life piece of human excrement

  • @jers59 the Sortie to the falkland islands did not involve a shrike at all! the Vulcan dropped 21 1000lb bombs. no shrike was used.

  • @jers59 have some respect. The Vulcan was the most agile bomber ever to have flown. no need to go insulting all of us brits! I would just like to point out that the Vulcan which flew to the Falklands was armed with 21 1000lb bombs not shrike.

  • @bazman85 tsr2 another failure along with CVA01 news for you brittania has not ruled the waves since 1941 the US Navy the most powerful navy ever has owned the seas since 1942

  • @jers59 Your comeback...... ha ha ha ha ha ha. Your a freak, the stupid shit you come out with. Not to mention your pathetic attempt at grammer. I thought an OLD MAN would be more mature. With your old saggy, non working, wrinkly, old, smelly dick! America, the land of cowards, who left tiny little Britain to declare war on the Nazi's. Stupid fools, dock nearly your entire naval fleet on one place and lose it. Ha ha ha ha ha. You should be on the muppet show. Later OLD MAN.

  • @bazman85 You low life scrounger the royal family were inbed with the nazis in fact the royal family are krauts 600+ years of inbreding and living on the dole, HMS Royal Oak german uboat cruises into scapa flow like its on sunday cruise and sinks it, Glorious has no cap flying surprised by kraut BC and sunk, Courageous sails with no anti sub protection sunk, Ark Royal 1 measly torpedo and it sinks first kill by spitfire in WW2? 2 hurricanes , first kill by RN sub in WW2? another RN sub LOL

  • @bazman85 Sorry I guess you're too sick "

  • @bazman85 But which one is still seeing active duty?

  • @waverly24 the one still seeing active duty is the one that has been demoted to dropping iron bombs ( IMHO 80 % of all its date-to-life payload on some of the poorest countries in SE Asia) , rather than the strategic role for what it was was designed for. After the SALT talks, and the advent of very accurate ICBM's, they had to keep some, to please Boeing. I wont say that the "Buff" is a bad plane either, because it isnt. It's your beloved plane, just like the Vulcan is ours

  • @bazman85 Just cause he unfairly insulted the Vulcan, a great aircraft that fell victim to politics, is no reason to go calling the B-52, another great aircraft, a "hunk of shit." B-52s are relatively cheap to operate and perfect for the way wars are fought today, and in the Cold War no aircraft was perfect for the strategic mission, hence why they found themselves replaced by damned missiles and submarines. Besides, the term "paper sack" is best description of any American air defense system.

  • @Apache757 How come Jesus was not born in UK? Because God could not find 3 wise men and virgin.

  • @bazman85 Just like the brits send Prine of Wales and Repulse to sea with no aircover both sunk as result then the british army in Malaysia 90.000 men surrender to 30.000 japs

  • @AmFearLiathMor sorry cannot locate such a incident on internet must be another urban myth I do know 2 V bombers crashed at air shows in US i believe anyone wanting to watch a V bomber at airshow in US was required to show they had life insurance before entering the air show grounds

  • @AmFearLiathMor It would take 4 V bombers to carry more bombs then 1 B52 bomber and it was B52 bombers that flew the operation chrome dome missions right outside the border of soviet union ready to nuke the russkies. The B52 owns just about every bomber record only jet bomber with air to air kill (2migs) carp[et bombing something V bomber not capable of. US bombers dropped over 75% of bombs on afghanistan most by B52, and B1 bombers

  • @AmFearLiathMor Try flying mosquitos in large formations over germany in day light bombing missions not good for crew survival. germans just have to infect UK with termits and carpenter ants to take care of DH98

  • grandad used to be a panel / instrument fitter on the vulcans.

still got all his diagrams etc.

  • awsome noise, just can get enough.

  • And off to Russia. What, nobody told the pilot it was only a test and he is as retired as the plane? To the bunkers!

  • I would love to have an Air Show with these flying displays in their order:

    1) 7 squadron F-101 Voodoos

    2) 7 squadron F-4 Phantoms

    3) CF130 Hercules doing close up JATO demo

    4) F-14 Tomcat

    5) Olympus afterburning engine Vulcan which was retired in 1965

    6) The Valkyrie which retired in 1969

    7) B1 Lancer

    8) SR-71 Blackbird

    9) British Airways Concorde to close off the Air Show with the best and loudest

  • I was born in Poynton, 1/4 mile away from Woodford, one of the places they used to fly out of and used to sit on the fence there and watch these babies take off in the 60's!. Most of the houses on our estate had cracks in the walls 'cos of them and the vibration they used to create. Took me back to my roots and childhood, thanks for the video : )

  • I see jerk69 is still spouting utter shite........

  • @digireedoo He's not American.

Of all the yanks i know, their Grammar is good and well, American. His is not - UK English mate and misspelt at the best of times too.

Probably some student thinking he is getting one over on the establishment. Needs to be a bit more clever, and a bit more in touch with his citizenship.

  • I saw this magnificent aircraft fly low over London, years ago. It was an incredible experience.

    Patently Creative

  • The Vulcan is a product of a time when things were built for a purpose, not to make money.

  • What a sound at 0.15

  • When I was a kid these things used to fly over our estate. They was so noisy you could hear em coming from miles away and so slow. If the shit hit he fan the Soviets would have blown em out of the sky before they did anything

  • absolutely pure sex, such an amazing plane. this is england at its best . top marks

  • apparently these things are supposed to carry nukes

  • @TheDriveByKing

I have seen one at Cosford with the base open just today . They carried one nuke, each at 500KT.

  • I LOVE THE ENGINE BURN BABY!

  • Few Finer Sights than Seeing a much missed & Legendary All British Mistress of the Skies Return Demostrating Her CaracteristIc Balance of Awesome Power &

    Gracefullness. :)

  • we live in cornwall and it was r.n.a.s culdrose air day last week. one of these flew around over our estate and i've never heard a noise like it. it's sooo loud, louder than the euro fighter was the year before and thats a noisy plane too. then the noise stops and it just seems to glide and it's amazingly grafeful to watch.

  • It was a phenomenal aircraft for it's time. It was as sophisticated as it needed to be as it was really only going to make a one way trip in the event of nuclear war. The aircraft was built on the priciple of total loss, once it had delivered it's bomb load it had done it's job.The pilot and co-pilot were not as expendable as the rest of the crew and it was hoped they would be able to eject safely, as did happen on one or two occasions.

  • just seen her at RIAT,Fairford BOTH DAYS !!! Takes your breath away !!!!!!

  • Fantastic plane I have seen her for real aswell at air day in England and she was flying.the ceriel no. Is the same to

  • 10 out of 10 ---from usa---

  • That is outstanding video!! What a plane; I live near March Air Base in California & always wished the air shows they have every year included a Vulcan!

  • what a noise

    love to hear 1

  • shes AWSOME good to see her alive again

  • I remember seeing a vulcan bomber flying at low level around a mountain by Lake Windermere on exorsises when I was 15 in 1975. It was so surreal? Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. It made me feal proud to be British. I can still see it in my mind's eye even now.

  • Go fly girl where you belong...

  • Ear splittingly Awesome!

  • Magic!

  • it was the begining of Stealth technology, the design had an unintended low radar profile, so stealth technology could be traced back to this aircraft.

  • Lebonskifinarm -

The howl is created by air induction into the intakes when thrust is applied

  • The Vulcan's Howl of Death!!!!!! The Sound of it is enough to put the Wind up you!!!!!

    God save the VULCAN!!!!

  • The Vulcan's Howl Of Death, The Sound Of it Shits You Up!!! God Save The VULCAN!!!!

  • What a feat this was to get a Vulcan flying again! I have great memories of my time at Waddington in the 70s when the Vulcans ruled!

  • The LOUDEST aircraft ever to fly, bar none. Impossible to ignore, and after one flys by, to hear anything after it! But I loved every ear-splitting second of it! I consider myself fortunate to have seen one flown.

  • A beautiful aircraft - with a sinfully poor electrical system design. After one of them crashed into a residential neighborhood in East Detroit on October 24, 1958, the electrical system was re-designed to make it more reliable - I lived in Detroit at that time, and that crash is one memory I will carry to the grave. That aircraft should have never gotten off the drawing board with it's original electrical system, let alone it's hopeless ejection system for 3 of the 5 crewmen.

  • @MelosAntropon You have to remember that this was designed in the early 50's - ejection systems, jet engines, and electrical control systems aboard aircraft were all brand new concepts. In reality it should of been nothing but a proof of concept aircraft , so they could of taken the lessons learned to make a more reliable craft. But cost + necessity of having a long range jet bomber immediately forced it into mass production.

  • @neverfearchrisishere : Your point is well taken, of course.

  • Love the low rasping sound as it rolls ahead from a standstill

  • Saw the plane yesterday.. was a boyhood dream for me.. we dont make up like we used to !!!

  • very short takeoff run, bloody impressive

  • My heart flies with you.......

  • ....most impressive....

  • at high alttitude it can out manouvre an f15 it can generate massive lift coz of its shape

  • i saw one at the RAF museum. one word for it :amazing.

  • I saw it at RAF leuchars 15+ years ago, my fooking ears still ring......pardon

  • ive sat in the cockpit of that :D

  • thats not the first flight the fisrt wasnt public

  • That is a video of the first flight & although it wasn't public there were a number of people around to see it!

  • Actually, from this perspective the Vulcan seems like a larger version of the J35 Draken.

I say this because they are alike in that the air intake is built into the wing.
