I dont want to compare this with dog fighting, the difference is that these animals are tied up in fear and pain of loosing their nose and in dog fighting they are free to fight back. don't get me wrong I don't approve every forced animal fight.
Thank you so much for all you do to help these bears and other so unfortunate animals that are subdued to so much cruelty and pain. I give as much as I can and I pray that if I ever come into lots of money like the lottery, I will not only donate money to help you but I also want to join you in helping. This is my long life dream to do, save animals from cruelty. I also had tears of sorrow knowing this is happening and tears of happiness for these bears and more that are waiting to be rescued.
I donated $50 to the WSPA to help with the bear sanctuary and urge anyone who cares about animals to do the same. Just go to their website to make a donation. Bear baiting is despicable cruelty and must be stopped.
Wonderful to see them freed. What ghastly things people consider "pleasure". Please let's all help the rest of these poor creatures and get them out of this torment of a life. Small donations can make a big difference.
Thank you for your reply. I too am saddened yet happy you rescued these three sweet bears. Please let us know how else we can help end this and rescue the other poor creatures.
I hope this happy ending is true. I tend to not believe these videos are actually true. I also don't understand why it takes so long to rescue these poor animals from such cruel and barbaric practices. To think that they suffered this since cubs? I find it horrid.
Bear Baiting is horrific and we completely understand your concerns for wanting to end the practice immediately. The reality is that rescuing each bear can take months of work – simply confiscating these animals would not address the root of the problem. We work with bear owners to find them livelihoods that will enable them to legally earn a living and never revert back to baiting. This long-term, preventative program is essential to ending this cruel practice for good.
@WSPAUSA Can you possible try and help Lucky the Slovenian Bear Cub ..... his story is really heartwrenching (go the his facebook page - Lucky the Bear (medo Srecko) for more info,,,,
Just got my Monthly E-News which made my day once more!
But I still don't understand, call me ignorant if you wish, how can this be going on since it is, as you claim, illegal!!
Shouldn't these savages be incarcerated instead of being negotiated with??
I mean, if I rob a Bank or break the Law in any way I see fit, claiming that it is my only alternative to a legally earned living, won't save my ass from going down, will it now???
@GreekForTruth1 Though bear baiting is illegal in Pakistan, there are unfortunately loop-holes in the existing animal welfare laws. The department which was legally responsible for implementing the Cruelty Act no longer exists, and as of yet its powers have not be delegated to another department. Also, the maximum punishment for bear baiting is a grossly insufficient fine, which does little to deter offenders.
@GreekForTruth1 I don't know if you live in America but here dogfighting and cockfighting is illegal but it is alive and going strong....so I could see how this could happen there even if illegal...to some "humans" animal's lives have little significance but for their entertainment or whatever they chose to do with them unfortunately...
Thank you WSPA for rescueing these bears and other bears who are being abused for bear baiting. Horrible that people can be so cruel to beautiful innocent animals.
thank for this
