i would have to agree with booboo. i owned a 01 S2k with exhaust and got raped by a 03 350z but a stock tt supra would definately beat a 07, 08 350z. They have better top end. But a 370z is a different story.
The difference between an 07-08 350Z and the 370Z is only a couple tenths of a second in the 1/4, and 2 mph in trap speeds. It's not a HUGE difference.
@b00b00 thats not always true a speed3 will trap 108 and run high 13's it depends on the gearing and when the power is made. higher reving engines tend to trap high and run slower times.
I've driven and ridden in both and I own a 370z. It is a HUGE difference; the 07-08 350z had overrated power numbers from the factory and could barely crack 100mph traps. I won't get into handling; the 350z drives like a truck.

I have a ap1 with H/I/E VAFC, CF hood/trunk, I take about a 1 1/2 - 2 cars on my buddies 04 350z an he has a CAI and exhaust.... If you do it right and get a tune after you bolt-up the S2k can make more power. I made a extra 31 rwhp
not saying all s2000s are slower then Zs, but stock to stock with both good drivers a Z would start to pull from a roll, but every car runs different. I ran modded Zs, and would beat them by a solid 2 cars.
@ktmx21x The DE and Uprevs are a joke though with the excessive weight. The HR's and VQ37VHR's are the ones that are really trapping around 108-111's. Regarudless though, the S2K is slower than a Z stock so both cars with the same mods will still leave the S2K slower. The 370z's are making around 20-30rwhp just with intake and exhaust nothing else

don't get me wrong both cars are great but in a drag race the Z should win...i mean come on 3.6L V6 with about 306 HP and more torque vs. a 2.2L 4 banger with about 237 HP and less torque.weight difference isn't that big either...i think.but being the car with more HP the 350z should be able to win in a drag race.
The S2000 actually has pretty bad fuel economy for a 4-cylinder, as a result of all those revs and power. 18mpg city and 25mpg highway is bad for a 2800lb car with a 4 cylinder. That's the same as a Z with a ton more torque, power, and weight.
If you keep your foot in it the S2000 drinks gas like a V-8, but I've driven mine on a long trip averaging 70 mph and got 34 mpg. I 've also raced three different 350Z's and beaten them. The 370's are a different story however. I haven't had the chance to race one but, I expect that it will beat me.
You beat the driver, not the car. I like the S2000, but I know that it's slightly slower in the straight line than any Z. Every vid on youtube with a stock s2000 and a stock Z show the nissan walking away.

Even if that's true, those would be the older Z's. The 07-08 HR model is significantly quicker than the previous ones, and no S2000 could beat one, unless the driver wasn't that great.

I've never seen a supra go that low stock. They are normally rated at around 14.0 or slightly lower. However, a couple of people on the Z forum did hit 13.1 at about 107-108 bone stock in an 07 when it first came out, so that's what I based it on.
Although, if you have some low 13's times for a stock supra, then I guess it's possible to beat a Z.

One cause i dont weigh that much im not the sport edition i weigh around the same as the z, Two my car is tuned for what it has not just slapped on,Three my tranny is also tuned to shift way faster than any auto or manual can.. By the way i cant kill a z we're even till prolly 75-80mph then i pull by like a car.. The z has dual fujita intakes and a greddy exhaust.
the lightest G35 still weighs about 3500 lbs, and thats the earliest models. Later ones got heavier. Early 350Z weighs in at 3150 lbs. G35 has Never weighed the same as the Z. Its length is longer, taller roofline, overall a bigger car. Both great cars though.
Turbo or n/a has nothing to do with acceleration. There are fast turbo cars, and there are slow turbo cars, there are fast n/a cars, and there are slow one. It does have something to do with ease of modding, though.
A 370Z will walk a Supra TT, the new 5.0 Mustang GT will too, so will a base corvette, etc, and all those are n/a.
Dude I have a HR 350z and I have literally walked G35s with bus lengths. I raced a G35 with I/h/E and he still lost by a car and half. Even the G37 and G37 type S. You have to really be racing some fukd up driver in the HR 350z to have pulled even a car on him no joke.

First off learn how to spell. cannot is one word. second, they are nearly equal in th 1/4. i'm pretty sure s2k's got a 10 out of 10 on handling too, so even on circuits they'd be equal. plus, the s2k is rated as more fun to drive all around
s2k's only fast 6.5-9k and 'feels' slower than lots of cars. Having had mine a while you'd be surprised just what you can keep up with...and what you can lose to if you're caught off guard..I largely avoid diesels at the lights now unless there is room to spool the vtec up!! Can beat 350Z (older 276hp models though) but not latest ones.

I work at a Nissan dealership and I own an 05 S2000 with a K&N intake and a short shift kit and I speak from encountering them every day...the older Z's won't beat an S if the S is driven correctly...the new Z is quicker I won't lie there...thats what I mean by NOT much slower...only in reference to the 07 Z...

I own a 350Z but I have to admit I do want an S2K. The S2k is NOT faster nor is it better than the 350Z in any way...but the 350Z monthly payments are killing me...S2K's are cheap and perform relatively well. Can't wait till I get rid of my Z even though I'll miss it :(
s2k's ARE slow... 14 sec car = slow... but i guess the 350z is a 14 sec car as well :D should be a good race from a stop, the 350z traction control will make it shit on its face, and s2k will stomp it. From a roll seems a little less so :D

That is a bit high. They trap around 103 - 104 stock. There a heavy car with 320hp. 110mph is good for a high 12 sec car if it can hook.

Ive owned both cars. 03 350z, and a 05 s2k.
I would say the s2000 was more of a fun car, and better built.
BUT
my 03 stock 350z would pull away from it. I can honestly say not 1 bolt-on s2000 has ever beaten my 350z. So these vids supprise me.

The S2000 actually has pretty bad fuel economy for a 4-cylinder, as a result of all those revs and power. 18mpg city and 25mpg highway is bad for a 2800lb car with a 4 cylinder. That's the same as a Z with a ton more torque, power, and weight.

If you keep your foot in it the S2000 drinks gas like a V-8, but I've driven mine on a long trip averaging 70 mph and got 34 mpg. I 've also raced three different 350Z's and beaten them. The 370's are a different story however. I haven't had the chance to race one but, I expect that it will beat me.

You beat the driver, not the car. I like the S2000, but I know that it's slightly slower in the straight line than any Z. Every vid on youtube with a stock s2000 and a stock Z show the nissan walking away.
Not that it's a big deal for a handling car like the honda.

I refer you to Road and Track, Car and Driver, or Motor Trend. In all three magazines the stock S2000 beats the stock 350Z in 0-60, quarter mile and top end. And these results have been my experience on the road.

Even if that's true, those would be the older Z's. The 07-08 HR model is significantly quicker than the previous ones, and no S2000 could beat one, unless the driver wasn't that great.
However, I don't really want to argue about it. I like the Honda a lot, and let's just say that it's a drivers' race at this point.

I've never seen a supra go that low stock. They are normally rated at around 14.0 or slightly lower. However, a couple of people on the Z forum did hit 13.1 at about 107-108 bone stock in an 07 when it first came out, so that's what I based it on.
Although, if you have some low 13's times for a stock supra, then I guess it's possible to beat a Z.

One cause i dont weigh that much im not the sport edition i weigh around the same as the z, Two my car is tuned for what it has not just slapped on,Three my tranny is also tuned to shift way faster than any auto or manual can.. By the way i cant kill a z we're even till prolly 75-80mph then i pull by like a car.. The z has dual fujita intakes and a greddy exhaust.

the lightest G35 still weighs about 3500 lbs, and thats the earliest models. Later ones got heavier. Early 350Z weighs in at 3150 lbs. G35 has Never weighed the same as the Z. Its length is longer, taller roofline, overall a bigger car. Both great cars though.

Turbo or n/a has nothing to do with acceleration. There are fast turbo cars, and there are slow turbo cars, there are fast n/a cars, and there are slow one. It does have something to do with ease of modding, though.
A 370Z will walk a Supra TT, the new 5.0 Mustang GT will too, so will a base corvette, etc, and all those are n/a.

Dude I have a HR 350z and I have literally walked G35s with bus lengths. I raced a G35 with I/h/E and he still lost by a car and half. Even the G37 and G37 type S. You have to really be racing some fukd up driver in the HR 350z to have pulled even a car on him no joke.

Look man ive only lost to 1 z, It was a 06 with alot of upgrades ive raced a a couple HR z's You guys are good on the low end but suck on the high end a HR Z with dual fujita intakes full greddy exhaust and test pipes pulls the hood on me till 60 then i pull all the way till we stop and trust me the driver is a great driver he pulls 8.3 at the 1/8 so trust me it aint driver now i will tell you that no other g has ever beat me either not even one

I ran a quarter 13.3 @ 107 MPH & I have a cpl vids and buddies runnin 13.1-13.2@108 MPH - 109 MPH Keep in mind that these are HRs well youre claiming that you beat HRs which is kind of a surprise to me because quite frankly even G35 coupes with superchargers are running 13.1s-13.2s so what kind of mods are you putting down to be pushing into 13 second flats or low 12s because heres a couple vids:-

WE don't know the values at the wheel for each car, as they vary from one to the other. What we do know, however, are the official numbers at the crank published by the respective manufacturers. The numbers the dork above was referring to were these crank numbers, so my correction was perfectly legit.
Ultimately, though, you're right. They aren't the "real" numbers that matter. But we have to have some sort of base from which to work, right?

2) wrong, the s2k pushes around 200whp, and the z pushes ~230 whp, however look up torque numbers and you will find the REAL difference in power.
3) no replacement for displacement, at least until forced induction comes to play. put some bolt ons on both cars, and see what happens.

s2k's only fast 6.5-9k and 'feels' slower than lots of cars. Having had mine a while you'd be surprised just what you can keep up with...and what you can lose to if you're caught off guard..I largely avoid diesels at the lights now unless there is room to spool the vtec up!! Can beat 350Z (older 276hp models though) but not latest ones.

Nope...I firmly disagree...the S2000 is NOT much slower than the Z...its not slower at all...maybe against the new 07 Z's but not the older ones...the S has proven many times that it can match and even beat the Z's performance...look at many BMI videos, vids here on youtube, temple of VTEC, streetfire...you'll see that both win about 50/50. BTW, the 07 Z is barely faster than an S...just so u know...

Is NOT much slower. So u agree the z is faster. Look i test drove 6 different s2000s from year 03 to 06. Trust me the z is faster stock for stock! Man I have a Honda tattoo on my leg! I have loved hondas my whole life. I've had acura legend, Honda accord, and just recently traded my Rsx s for a z. Beleive me I love Hondas and think they are bad ass but you have no arguement on this one. Are they comparable? yes they are comparable. However the z takes the s2000 in every way.

I work at a Nissan dealership and I own an 05 S2000 with a K&N intake and a short shift kit and I speak from encountering them every day...the older Z's won't beat an S if the S is driven correctly...the new Z is quicker I won't lie there...thats what I mean by NOT much slower...only in reference to the 07 Z...

hey buddy, the S is not exactly meant for frag, its got godly handling, i admit the z is fast my cousin owns 1, and dont forget it all comes down to how u tune the cars beacause your not gonna have a stock S or Z for the rest of ur life so get this stupid fight over with....i think its a 50/50 match between both, Z a tiny tiny but faster in the straights, but in track the S has the Z in the bag

which when your racing the vtec should constantly be open because if your shifting and the next gear lands below vtec you got short shifting problems. so what your saying is if there racing there fast all the time. i agree with you :)

I own a 350Z but I have to admit I do want an S2K. The S2k is NOT faster nor is it better than the 350Z in any way...but the 350Z monthly payments are killing me...S2K's are cheap and perform relatively well. Can't wait till I get rid of my Z even though I'll miss it :(

s2k's ARE slow... 14 sec car = slow... but i guess the 350z is a 14 sec car as well :D should be a good race from a stop, the 350z traction control will make it shit on its face, and s2k will stomp it. From a roll seems a little less so :D
