It's a thing I do. I like looking at all kinds of art, so I decided if I liked it, I'd collect it. When I have enough on a given subject, I put them together so I can watch them when I want. My whole collection of videos is like that. I should get a life, right?
I would like to know who painted the lanc at 2:10,looks like the Dutch countryside to me. Living in the centre of Holland, planes of both sides are found regularly. The painitng could be a scene 60 years ago were my house stands now.
The painting by Robert Taylor at 5:39 is titled "Bringing home the Peacemaker" (I think) but anyway my grandfather was on that mission and remembers that plane, my grandfaher was shot down during that mission to Leipzig Germany and taken POW (his plane was calld "WInnie Frank Joe"). The Peacemaker made it home, It was part of the 91st bomb group and the 401st bomb squadron. Robert Taylor tries to paint from eyewitness stories. Just a little bit of history for you.
I don't remember the name, but I saw something on History International just last week. A German pilot was sent up on an Me-109 to shoot it down. He decided it was so badly shot up that it would be like shooting at a man in parachute. So he escorted it to the channel and waved goodbye. He told no one until some 40 years later when the US pilot started looking for him.
I could... If You take tips from a german....cause I am often insulted by british and americans just because I question some political and military actions of the allied command..I never attacked the chaps....
Hi, Hailfaxmkv. Thanks for dropping in. That second piece is an oldie called "The Bombardier Song," and the voice is Bing Crosby. There are lots of great old WWII songs. I probably should have done more of them and less of the engine sounds. Oh, well. Cheers, John (bestjonbon)
Way back in the war (to show you how old I am), I flew as what they called a CAP (Civilian Air Patrol) Cadet. Loved planes so much back then. I couldn't recognize one car from another on the street, but I could tell the difference between a P51E and a P51J at 50,000 feet. Heh, heh.
The worst war criminals in the entire history of the world were the Americans in WW2. America murdered more than a million totally innocent civilians, mostly women and children, by deliberately "roasting" them to death with cowardly, incendiary air attacks, even using napalm and nuclear weapons. The perpetrators (Eisenhower, LeMay, Churchill, Rossevelt, etc.,) deserved to be burned alive at a stake.

"Nazi Gassings Never Happened! Niemand wurde vergast!" Those words summarize the most important lessons of more than twenty-years of research by revisionist engineers and scientists, like myself, regarding the anti-German war propaganda.
Most gassings were supposedly carried out with "diesel exhaust" which is so absurd technically thatit should already alert many as to how insane the gassing claims truly are.
What a fantastic collection of art.. Where did you collate them all from?

An interesting collection of artwork. A pity that most of the Dam Buster portraits contained significant technical inaccuracies.

Yes, that B-17 was on one engine (two feathered and one shot away). But it kept flying for a long way. Thanks for checking in.
Cheers, John
