the ps1 versions of doom and final doom were the superior console ports and the pc one is god in my eyes and it should be for all yall they pc one u can do so much
I love doom, but i got it for LIVE for the achievements. I rather get Marathon 2 for Live, not for the achievements, but for the fun, and the Halo: Reach nameplate
Vintage feel? What a bunch of wannabe console fan douchebags, Doom is a PC game, everything after that were ports, lots of them, probably the most ported game in history.
This was cutting edge in '93, on the PC.
Get a damn clue, Doom for SNES was way poorer in graphics than most other ports, but it had hugely better sound than the 32X one, those "rocky" borders are called SCREENSPACE SHRINKING, used so that the framerate DOESN'T SUCK, Doom ran on 320x240 on DOS PCs and 640x480 in Doom95.
I'm not sure why you have such an affinity for the snes version, granted it has all the episodes and it mops the floor with 32x in the sound department but the 32x version actually runs at a higher resoloution and framerate. Both are highly flawed compared to the original DOS version but I'd give 32x a small edge over SNES because of the smoother framerate.
lol. I'm trying to buy a 32x on ebay right now. I hope it just doesn't get to hight up in price. I am probably going to get doom for that. It was great on pc, so it should be good on 32x
You think you'll stand out of the "crowd" if you like shittier stuff than most people or something? Like whatever you want, but there is no comparisson. That's not Doom, that is an experiment, a proof-of-concept and you are not unique.
if you want an actual vintage experience ... play the dos version on pc and forget about these console ports which all suck

Yeah but there's no sound. Can't forgive that.

The 32x version was pretty good. It played a lot better than the SNES one. But if you wont to play the original Doom you need to get in on PC.
