im trying to find a job, and if i do, there's a lot of uniforms with short sleeves. im scared that they're gonna think something.. and my scars are really dark for some reason. i wanna get rid of these really fast :\
Thx for the advice! I usually wear lots of rubber wristbands to hide my scars cause I only cut in my lower arm and wrist. But I've been trying to stop and sometimes I just let them show and don't car what people say or think. and I've Also been putting some scar oils on them so that's helping too. But it's summer now so hopefully I'll make it through :)
thanks :) i really needed help on this, my parents keep asking why i wear my jacket all the time and say i cant wear it as much in the summer, so this helps :)
I've seen your other vids... of you explaining that you don't give advices for people to cut themselves, but for them to be able to hide the scars... not the behaviour. I think these videos might became your therapy... and I really hope you can get better... I used to self harm myself too, and I can asure you that it's possible to get out of this. But it requires a lot of efford. You are really brave by showing what happens to you. kisses from argentina.
@ResurgamAnima ... you are disrespectful - shes only trying to help, if you know so much make ur own video. Shes not helping people to cover the scars so they can do it more; shes helping those who have stopped or cant stop to hide the scars cause believe it or not, society judges you for it because they either havnt done it or are unaware of the emotional strain people that self harm go through. If it doesnt help, find a video that does and dont be so rude and ignorant.
ok question, for scars that have already healed best they can but have left sometimes very noticeable whitsh-pink marks on the skin, will any of the topical remedies u mention help to further mask the scars or get rid of them? im usually very good at hiding them and have done so for a long time, but im running out of excuses and "cover-up" ideas, as i cant hide them forever. :*(
i actually have a big long scar 2 inches far of my wrist, its product of a surgery and not from a knive or something, but a lot of its triggering for a lot of people because it looks like a suicide attempt or something, anmd i thinking about getting a bigger scar that looks like a burning or an accident, i told this to my friend and he thinks that im crazy and stupid, i would like to know what do you people think, i will aprecciate your advices, thanks and excuse my bad english :)
I wish I could get rid of mine. A lot of them are a bit paler than my skin and a bit raised. I've tried the lotions but am still having issues and don't want to always cover up. I've been upfront with my friends about it as I have recovered but want to get rid of the scars desperatly. Does anyone know about how much the laser surgery stuff costs?
I'm so happy you made this. I live in Australia and the summer here gets very hot. I hate having to wear long sleeves shirts and get a lot of stares and questions when i wear short sleeves, so these suggestions have been very helpful, thanks heaps!
There is also a product called "prefer on" which comes in a pink stick. It is similar to mederma and bio oil but I have found that it is much less messy because it is a rub-on stick and not a cream. it also worked better for me than mederma, but I have yet to try bio oil.
Mederma will not work for raised scars. I'm using Scar Away right now (the band-aid type mentioned in the vid) and it's onyl been two weeks so I don't really see much of a difference. Plus it's not a recent scar so of course it'll take longer if this treatment works at all.
my doctor gave me a thick gel (I forgot the name) but it was really sticky and gross and I had to use it for a month... it was supposed to make my scars fade... but guess what? they've never been more clear! I must admit that kinda made m give up... it was so hard showing my arms to my family doctor
First of all i want to say that you're doing great videos and i'm sure they are very helpful for a lot of people.
I'm from Germany and I have a lot of scars myself but I don't cover them anymore, because i made the experience that it is more embarassing if people see them by accident. Over the years i got confident with myself and even if people ask stupid questions I answer them why I have these scars. I think in the end that's the only way because you can't hide them for your whole life.
And, your daughter is gonna have scars if she cuts, and she's probably not going to want to flaunt them. So whats wrong with helping her, or people like her hide them?
I found Dr. Blaine's Complete Scar Care Treatment works the best on flattening and fading scars- keloids, hypertrophic, acne and surgical scars. The treatment has a silicon gel-pad that you wear for 12 hours and then a liquid gel that you apply for the rest of the day. You can buy it at Longs Drug/CVS and Walmart for like $20. It's good stuff. Camouflaging is good, but treating the scar is even better!:)
another thing is tattoos... i am not saying go out and get a 50 dollar perma tattoo, but just pen tattoos, they can work quite well... get something simple & something that interests you. a while back i used the symmetrical "air" from angels and demons (ima weird dude, dont take risks, not the tattoo kinda guy, but i showed it to some ppl and they didnt suspect a thing... its something that interested me) try and use a black perma pen or something, but u gta darken it everyday, it comes off quik
i use vitamin-E oil! it actually works really good... i do pretty deep cuts... and they go away within 2-3 weeks... which sounds like a long time... but there really deep cuts... Dx... test it out. it might work for you too :)
i've used mederma a lot, but it doesn't really work; my scars still show up a lt. The again, I'm very pale, so the pinkish colored scars show up a lot regardless. Now I use a herbal oil treatment (not bio oil, I don't know what it's called) that work's pretty well.
Great video. As a teen I carved sentences into my stomach and breasts and I didn't have a lot of money so I just used a drugstore facial exfoliant (make sure the grains are fine not thick-finer works better). I exfoliated 3 times a week once everything was healed. I also used a thick face cream also from a drugstore. The scars faded faster than I anticipated. *never exfoliate a scar that isn't completely healed. now you can also use neosporin while its healing. good luck.
there is something out there now called prefer on, which is supposed to get rid of scars and stretch marks...etc.....i haven't tried it but i will be when it's summer time again....cause my scars have become more prominent... cause i did get some sun this past summer >>
The one thing about Mederma, is that it can get expensive, for the amount of time you usually need to use it. :[ I had started using it to get rid of some of my worse scars, and after two months, it didn't lighten them up a whole lot, and it was about 30 dollars a tube. Also, the bio oil, if the scar is fresh, like, under a year old, it can break down the new skin and make it worse. The one thing I found that worked, was Skin So Soft from Avon. Even keloided scars, and it's pretty cheap :]
I've tried those scar-reducing ointments and they don't work at all, my scars are still terribly red. So I just stick to long sleeves and wrist bands. I'm so lucky my school is always freezing cold, even in the summer-time, so I have an excuse to wear sweatshirts constantly and everyone else is doing the same thing.
Honestly, use tattoo cover-up. It works really really well. It's a little top-dollar at some places but it does work.
And as far as cover-up on healing scars, out a tiny tiny bit of neosporan on the scar before you put the concealer on. It continues to heals it as well as keeps the make-up from directly touching it.
The sun fades mine a lot, and i use moisturzer. I know the more they are exposed the more they heal.
Mine arent noticeable unless you look for them except the bad raised ones that are pretty obvious but i just say "hmm. i think you know so dont make me say."
And dont swim with a fresh one...although ive been so lucky ive had such horrible cuts, I never even washed any or even put on bandaids..ever..not sure why actually lol.....but nothings ever gotten infected. But im the exception im sure.
I've been a self mutilator for about four- five years now and I find that nothing really works on my scars. They still reflect well in the light and are raised from my skin, many people comment on them. I moved on to my legs two years ago so no one will notice the old scars and I wouldn't have to wear hoodies during summer. Recently, I discovered a lotion that I use called Keri. It works well, my scars lightened after two weeks of regular use. I recommend it to any others
8.99 patches . and this was my own money i earned it . any there still there i wish i could get rid of them but i'm only 15 so laser removel is out of the question . i hate scars . it's not worth it
you should really not go off on xsullengirlx... there are a lot of people who have her back... we all have our own opinions.. if you don't like this then you don't have to look at it.
thankyou for posting this. i've been looking for good makeup to cover up my scars, but a few of them were real deep and are risen. do you think dermablend is worth a shot or should i just get a tattoo like i was planning on?
I wear loads of bangles and bracelets, which cover old scars, which fade to pinky-white. My scarring is concentrated on my wrists, which kinda makes it easier. But when they're new and bright red, it's harder to hide them with bangles so I use fishnet arm-warmers. They're better for summer, especially if you're look is rock/punk. If you can't find any just buy some fishnet (smaller the holes the better) and cut the ends off.
I dont really bother covering mine or anything. not anymore. its been 3 or 4 years now, and I just don't even think about my scars anymore....theyre just there, and i cant imagine nor remember not having them. its true that they're ugly and horrible and remind me of shit stuff, but when people see that i'm not insecure or try to hide, they don't ask questions.I say, let them assume. my friends and family have grown used to seeing my arms, so I don't care any more.
oddly enough, i don't want to get rid of them..i've grown attached to them...i just want to hide them...i use them as a reminder...i know i'll need them one day...sounds crazy but heck, at this point of where we are, whats crazy?
i started cutting when i was 13 too. i cut my left arm, i hate my body, i wear a sweater all year round, im shy/anti-social, so it makes me look crazier and scarier! :(
But!
gee you make me want to cry! i just started watching you today and you are like an aray of hope! i really look up to you! i have hope that maybe one day i can change
what you can do, is if ur too young to get a tattoo, you can go out and buy temporarry tattoos for girls or guys, i have punk ones for instance. if you have a scar on your wrist, thats were you put the tattoo and if you have many scars, put a large enough tattoo on they will fad away but they will keep people from noticing
Cocoa butter works fantastic. It really helped some of my scars. Made some dissapear completley, too.I don't think I could go for lazer treatment. D: I used to always wear arm warmers...but I'm hot in winter. D: My scars always come up when I'm really hot/cold, but I usually pay no mind to them and others do the same, I stopped bothering to hide them now they're not that bad. But if you look at them and are obviously bothered, it'll draw others' attention to them, too.
Use a regular moisturizer while your wounds are healing. It makes them heal faster and make the scars smaller at the same time. I got rid of all my smaller scars that way.
i've been using dr. varon's skin bleaching system that i got at rite aid for about $20 and I have noticed that my scars are a lot lighter than they were before
Vitamin E helps fade it, when I had tried to quit, it faded my scars a lot within maybe a month or two, which considering the conditions was great. But I sadly started again, so it doesn't make much of a differnce anymore...
shea butter works pretty good. it works really good on scars that are a darker/lighter shade than your skin. I'm not sure if it works on slightly raised scars.
I've self-harmed for almost three years, and have been wearing sweatshirts all the time. No one really questions me about it anymore but they did a lot. I really don't want my mother to find out, so this helps a lot.
I have Shea/Cocoa Butter I use. It smells good and it helps. I keep mine clean and wash them every time i wash my hands, then pat them dry and rub the butter on. It really does help heal the skin and helps speed up the process of healing scars that aren't too deep by a little bit.
There's always tattoos! I've been told that i can't get laser cause my scars are too deep, so i'm getting full sleeve tattoos, geting the first 1/4 done next month....
Obviously this would only work for some people, i mean if some clean cut all american girl got full sleeves done it might look strange.
This is about a physical concealment, this video is not about emotional scars, this is about tangible scars on the body. I have other videos talking about the emotional and harmful mental effects of self injury, but this video is not one of them. This is simply to try and give people ideas on how to go to work, school, classes, gatherings etc and not feel so out of place. I'm going to send you a message.
I dont know what I should do for gym class at school. We have to dress out and we are allowed to wear pants so that solves my leg issue but we cant wear long sleeves. I also dont want people to see the cuts while im changing and i cant change in a stall or anything. Im stuck. For the first three weeks we have health class and dont have to change but soon im going to be in troubele.
Why can't you change in the stall? That's not fair :( Well, in similar situations I have talked to the teacher and mentioned something about wanting to wear long sleeves and not giving them the full reason why - sometimes they will understand. Maybe you could try sweat bands or arm warmers? Hopefully something works out better for you, that is a really tough situation.
Well, the ideas are not fool proof and they aren't 100% effective like I said. I wouldn't go swimming with makeup on, it's just not a logical thing to do... No matter how good the makeup is, there are instances where you won't be able to hide certain scars. Good luck :)
I'm not advocating self-injury, but if you do, then make sure to take special care in treatment of the wound afterwards, which can significantly lessen the scarring. Make sure to use things like neosporin, etc. Also, make sure to put vaseline over it every day as many times as you can - even when mostly healed. And vitamin e gel capsules lessen the appearance of scars as well. Pop the gel caps and put the oil on the area.
wow you are. do u have any idea what depth of scarring they can cover? Cause my mate went to see a plastic surgeon and got told all they could do for her was skin grafts, but I've heard different and fell gutted if i can't get laser or demabrasion cause i don't have enough skin for my scars!
i've done a really good job so far in hiding it but because of the way i dress(all black people call me emo and goth wooooo NOT i hate it!) they pretty much assume i already cut so i'll b sittin at my desk and the person i sit nexk to will be like show me ur wrist you little freak so thats my problem now
I would like to get some tips about how to hide the cuts before they have heald. I have goten alot of questions about that and it's really hard to answer. If peaple see that you get new cuts all the time you can't keep telling stories like "I fell of my bike". I would really appritiate some tips!
or lotion or oil form. My mom had a surgery when it was over, she bought vitamin E lotion, I used it and it helped, so yo can find it in non-pill form. it's less money and easier!!!
Bio-oil has made some of my scars a bit less swollen, so it was quite good but it hasn't made them fade. I've tried so hard to make foundation work but it doesn't for me.
also, as for invasive questions, people think they're being caring and helpful oftentimes when they ask. the answer, "long story" only invites more questions (trust me). the best way to get people to drop it is to say "nothing" and quickly change the subject, or to laugh it off somehow ("those damn ninjas caught me off guard"). it lightens the mood a bit, but still deflects in an "i'm not answering that question" way.
Dermablend really does work well. my mom has bad facial scars and discoloring and she uses it and the scars are covered up completely she looks like there are no scars.
Yes...people I barely know in my college classes will ask me about my scars. It's been making me very self-conscious. It's easy for me to forget that the scars are there, so I rarely think about the fact that other people can see them clearly. Thanks for making this.
Bio Oil Works Cause I Use it And You Only Have To Put It On 2 Times A Day For 8 Days And It Is Like It Was Never There Super Drugs Sell It It Is Usauly About 9 Pound Or Somethings But It Is Worth It
Not everything works for everyone. Some of these things have never worked for me, but they are general tips for people who don't have huge scars or keloids, like I said. Your only bet might be plastic surgery, lasers, or cortisone shots.
are keloids like ridges in the skin cause i have no idea what i've done to myself lol all i no you can see them easily fron lie 10m away which means i do fuck all like swimming which is annoying. can i ask you got an advise like how to not go back cause i quite about 6 months back like end of school year a month before and now i sort of feel the erge or want to back to it again if you get me really annoying . one other thing do concellers actally help
hey. thanks for the vid! helped alot...but what about like how would you hide cuts? cuz like my school is rly strict and i hav my school uniform and they are short sleeved and i live in australia and its hot all the time so i cant exactly wear a jumper.
let's say i wanna go to walmart and buy some bio-oil or something. and my mom asks me "why do you need it?" or something. what do you think i could say?
You're welcome :) Bio oil is used for MANY things, including stretch marks, freckles, cellulite, wrinkles, and dry skin. For example, my grandma uses it for dry skin and wrinkles, and some people use it like a lotion. :) There's nothing wrong with a little skin care, Im sure your mom will understand. Good luck!
oh yeah that's really thinking outside the "bag" there... Open your mind and stop stereotyping people or go away. does it make you feel better to judge people?
I have recently got a job & have to wear a t-shirt with my scars. But my scars are verrrrry noticable, they are deep purple and stick out of my skin. What wuld you recomend?
You are amazing. This is really helpful for me. I'm still sorta young, so I still live with my mother, and she tends to freak out incredibly easily, so I really fear that she'll find out that I cut myself and throw me to a psychiatrist or something. All of your methods work just great for me, as it all works with my style...something that no one questions me about these days. :]
Do you know of anyone who has had laser surgery? I went for an initial consultation but they couldn't guarantee that treatment would improve the appearance of my scars. And my scars are flat, thin and faded white. (Last SI'd 5 years ago)
I've used Bio-Oil, Mederma, vitamin E oil & "Veil" skin camouflage cream to no effect. I'd be really interested in hearing if you know anyone who's been successful with laser treatment,
when i stoped cutting for good after therapy and medication, i wanted the whole memory to just go away...seeing the scars reminded me of very low points and also how i wanted to cut again. it IS an addiction and all triggers have to be removed for you to get better
I have a scar that I've had for maybe three years, that I want off. Sometimes it's pinkish and sometimes it's white ish. And then I have little bumps on my arms. Any ideas?
another way of covering up scars is to get tattooed over them, and if you have a tattoo that you have spent money on then that makes you not want to make new scars over the tattoo, so its a good way to hide them and a reason to stop, i am almost finished with a full sleave tattoo, it hides some scars but most of mine are raised scars and so it wont hide them all.
You are an amazing person. These two videos have really opened myself up to the confusion of "outsiders" and why they ask. Also, that it doesn't matter why i wear what I do or why I have scars.
this person was at my usual hang out skatepark and because my mate cuts herself too people tend to see hers. and today when i was with her they was questioning her. and then they asked me if i do it. then my mate was like yeah yeah yeah she does and i was like err no i dont lol. and the girl was all like i know your mam and im telling her. (she actually knows my mom) so now ... im in a bit of trouble when my mam wants to see my wrist. help??
I have keloids on my wrists and they are like sooooo... difficult to hide becos they pop out and usually they're in a darker brown tone that is impossible not to notice. I live in Asia, which is so warm all the time so I can't wear long sleeves 365 days.
And if I try to use makeup, they'll just melt in the heat and smeared all over my clothes at the end of the day.
Yes, there aren't many remedies for keloid scars, except hiding them or trying to use a scar treatment on them. There are some other more extreme things you can do in a doctor's office, but that's a big decision too. Good luck to you.
I hear if you go to a Dermatologist you can get collagen injected into each scar. I do self injure but unfortunately I haven't gotten over my addiction so I don't plan on using any of this soon. Thanks
it's true, you can get collagen injections and I have heard they do help. I don't plan on getting this done either as I still SI but it's a good option for those who have overcome it. Thanks for the comment :)
Hey! I watched this vid when you first made it and coincidentally I needed to pick up some Dermablend on Tues. to cover my tattoos for a photo shoot . I made a vid (update Aug 7) & I show it covering them up. The stuff actually works! Matching your skin tone is difficult, but the leg and body cover does it's job.
The Dermablend isn't expensive. Leg & Body cover is $25 the setting powder is $20. Mederma is $20 a pop. That I've done too and it does help.
Hey christie i think this is really good information to know. Ive used make up to cover mine before and actually my mom gave me that idea.. and at the time i was pissed off and told her no... because knew my scars ment something and i didnt want to hide it.. but now its easier..thanks for the info.
My upper arms are a wright-off, they're all keloids and 95% of them probably needed stiches (which I didn't get for various reasons), but strangely enough I'm just as petified of people seeing my not-so-bad forearm scars, as I am of people seeing the keloids. I guess it's a shame thing. Might try the make up on my forearms though. I'm also trying to get a skin-removal scarification to cover up my thigh scars. I'm hoping it signifies me stopping SI, at least for the most part of my life.
lol i put make up on my arm just to see if it did anything but no, they shine through, guess i have to try out cover up, i'm skeptical i can wear a short sleeved shirt even with that though but i really want to try, it would be so cool :D i haven't done that in public for years
what exactly do they test? I mean, I can't see them testing to see if the newest shade of viva glam lipstick looks good on mr. mouse... Know what I mean? But I'm sure most companies do, unfortunately. Still, their makeup is the best as far as coverage and quality.
I love mac. I've been buying make-up from them sense I started wearing it. You can get really good cover up that has moisturizers in it. And its awesome if you have sensitive skin, like me.
I do have a sister, yes. She is younger and looks nothing like me, but she lives here in Washington state and neither of us have been in SF :) Where/what was this on?
you could do a search and find it I'm sure. It's a doc about black tar herion in San fran. made a few years ago. I just think a girl in it looks like you could be related. its called...black tar of death" or something. if you searched black tar documentry san fran...you'd find it. Maybe not on youtube. Self injurers sometimes forget IV drug users have scars too. You are the best :)
Ive tried most of the remedies you mentioned- the patches and creams. they work great to speed up the healing of a scar, but once its gone white there's nothing more can be done. Make up worls a treat, even if the make up isnt quite your skin tone (its very hard to match) it just looks like you put bronzer on.
there's nothing to be done for white scars? i have lots of white ones but i've noticed some of them are starting to become peach colored, all on their own... can that happen? or am i just imagining it?
hmmmm to be honest I can only speak from my own experience, and thats never happened to me. As far as I know white is the final stage of healing. But I could be wrong :)
I have tried to cover my scars and nothing seems too work!!!! I have tried EVERYTHING!!!!! Even make-up and I can't cover them up but I guess it doesn't matter since I can't seem to put the Razor down!!
For me i basically have "scar sleeves" cuz my arms are covered, so the only way i can hide scars is with long sleeves, which soon i'm hoping i can get up the courage to stop wearing my jacket and just not care even though it will be way obvious and i'll get questions and looks, i just don't want to care anymore.
Thankyou!!!!!

I found Dr. Blaine's Complete Scar Care Treatment works the best on flattening and fading scars- keloids, hypertrophic, acne and surgical scars. The treatment has a silicon gel-pad that you wear for 12 hours and then a liquid gel that you apply for the rest of the day. You can buy it at Longs Drug/CVS and Walmart for like $20. another thing is tattoos... i am not saying go out and get a 50 dollar perma tattoo, but just pen tattoos, they can work quite well... get something simple & something that interests you. a while back i used the symmetrical "air" from angels and demons (ima weird dude, dont take risks, not the tattoo kinda guy, but i showed it to some ppl and they didnt suspect a thing... its something that interested me) try and use a black perma pen or something, but u gta darken it everyday, it comes off quik

i've used mederma a lot, but it doesn't really work; my scars still show up a lt.

*never exfoliate a scar that isn't completely healed. now you can also use neosporin while its healing. good luck.

Bio oil is the best.
HomeAloneFun 2 years ago

MahBoi22 2 years ago
Honestly, use tattoo cover-up. It works really really well. It's a little top-dollar at some places but it does work.
And as far as cover-up on healing scars, out a tiny tiny bit of neosporan on the scar before you put the concealer on. It continues to heals it as well as keeps the make-up from directly touching it.
lonebutterfly99 2 years ago

I dont really bother covering mine or anything. not anymore. its been 3 or 4 years now, and I just don't even think about my scars anymore....theyre just there, and i cant imagine nor remember not having them. its true that they're ugly and horrible and remind me of shit stuff, but when people see that i'm not insecure or try to hide, they don't ask questions.I say, let them assume. my friends and family have grown used to seeing my arms, so I don't care any more.

what you can do, is if ur too young to get a tattoo, you can go out and buy temporarry tattoos for girls or guys, i have punk ones for instance. if you have a scar on your wrist, thats were you put the tattoo and if you have many scars, put a large enough tattoo on they will fad away but they will keep people from noticing

I'm going to send you a message.
xsullengirlx 3 years ago 22
I dont know what I should do for gym class at school. We have to dress out and we are allowed to wear pants so that solves my leg issue but we cant wear long sleeves. I also dont want people to see the cuts while im changing and i cant change in a stall or anything. Im stuck. For the first three weeks we have health class and dont have to change but soon im going to be in troubele.
moonlight12296 3 years ago 2
Why can't you change in the stall? That's not fair :( Well, in similar situations I have talked to the teacher and mentioned something about wanting to wear long sleeves and not giving them the full reason why - sometimes they will understand. Maybe you could try sweat bands or arm warmers? Hopefully something works out better for you, that is a really tough situation.
xsullengirlx 3 years ago
I deal with this from time to time,
Well my secret was I just dressed really quick lol trust me it really works. I haven't
got caught in like 3 years of doing so.
But yeah, wear sweatbands. Or wear a long
sleeeve shirt under ? usually throughout
the year pe teachers become more chill
and will make exceptions for what you wear.

tHeMiZlOvEr21 3 years ago
Well, the ideas are not fool proof and they aren't 100% effective like I said. I wouldn't go swimming with makeup on, it's just not a logical thing to do... No matter how good the makeup is, there are instances where you won't be able to hide certain scars. Good luck :)

Pipenho29 3 years ago 5
I'm not advocating self-injury, but if you do, then make sure to take special care in treatment of the wound afterwards, which can significantly lessen the scarring. Make sure to use things like neosporin, etc. Also, make sure to put vaseline over it every day as many times as you can - even when mostly healed. And vitamin e gel capsules lessen the appearance of scars as well. Pop the gel caps and put the oil on the area.

cheaper coverup - covergirl. works really well.
also, as for invasive questions, people think they're being caring and helpful oftentimes when they ask. the answer, "long story" only invites more questions (trust me). the best way to get people to drop it is to say "nothing" and quickly change the subject, or to laugh it off somehow ("those damn ninjas caught me off guard"). it lightens the mood a bit, but still deflects in an "i'm not answering that question" way.

another way of covering up scars is to get tattooed over them, and if you have a tattoo that you have spent money on then that makes you not want to make new scars over the tattoo, so its a good way to hide them and a reason to stop, i am almost finished with a full sleave tattoo, it hides some scars but most of mine are raised scars and so it wont hide them all.

I have keloids on my wrists and they are like sooooo... difficult to hide becos they pop out and usually they're in a darker brown tone that is impossible not to notice. I live in Asia, which is so warm all the time so I can't wear long sleeves 365 days.
And if I try to use makeup, they'll just melt in the heat and smeared all over my clothes at the end of the day.
sermeiren86 3 years ago
Yes, there aren't many remedies for keloid scars, except hiding them or trying to use a scar treatment on them. There are some other more extreme things you can do in a doctor's office, but that's a big decision too. Good luck to you.

This is a really, really helpful video for what I thought would always be a persistent and annoying problem! Thank you so much!

bio oil does work.. it just takes a while for it to take effect deprending on how deep the scars are.
for me it took like 3 months until they are basically just lines now.. no redness or white or anything.

Yeah, the Bio-Oil works.

But I could be wrong :)

this probably has to do with sun exposure. this has happened to most of my lower arm scars.

Use Papaya cream (whatever) :] helps with scars.

I have tried that and it didn't help. but like I said I shouldn't try to hide the old ones when I keep making new ones
