  • Pretty intense.

  • Words can't describe this performance. Divine !

I doubt anyone will have anymore videos/audios from the same concert or from that era ??

Khan Sahib seem to be at his zenith.

  • your right brother no one can match this guy i love him

  • this is amazing .... though this should be played 6-9 ... i am listening at 2 in the morning and i have tears in my eyes ....

  • does anyone know where I could learn about ragas and indian music, or if someone just wants to explain on here if there is enough room, like is a raga the main classical form of music in india, also why are there certain times that they are played, is there religious, and some common modes that are used. I like Maynard Ferguson's (jazz trumpet player) Chala Nata, it is a jazz and raga fusion (I play trumpet and am a fan of jazz, esp. Maynard) Thanks

  • when USTAD Bismillah Khan was live from all india radio from ALLAHBAD HE WAS PLAYING LIVE -----EVERY DAR UNTILL HIS LADT DAY----WHAT A LEGEND ON AN INDIAN SOIL+++++ NO ONE CAN PLAY THIS ALL RAAGS+++++ LOVED IT +++LIKE IT ND STORED IN HEART FOR GOOD

  • Does anyone know at what time of day this particular raga is played?

    Thanks

  • @tenthousandyearsgoon

this is a morning raga sang between 6-9 am.

  • @kjaan WOW! Thanks! Someone knows this; That is fantastic! Its good to see that Kaliyuga has not overwhelmed everyone.

  • @kjaan Many Many Thanks, very nice to see ustadji's rare performance. This raag is also very rare, yaa it is a morning raag ( between 6 - 8 ), it's avroh is very similar to bhairavi, Late pt Jitendra Abhisheki's great composition ( in marathi ) Sarwatmka Sarveshwara also based on Gunlkali. Thanks Again, apriciate u to download such type rare video specially ustadji.

  • @pareshshirdhonkar Thanks for your comments. I have another video of Ustad playing his famous Malkouns composition.

  • Ну ваше ошеломляющая музыка, просто не музыка а кажется что разговор о философии, короче я ушло в иной мир :)))

  • kjaan, thanks a lot for sharing this. very beautiful.

  • superb share

  • Aww man too bad it cuts off at such a cool part!

  • Lovely.

  • respectful mr.kjaan. can you please please please tell me where I can buy ustad's video. or if you have it can I buy copy from you. thanx for posting it on yopu tube

  • anyone know what the other drum is besides the tabla?

  • @alchemyst2000...........The other drum is besides the tabla is Duggi.

The duggi consists of two drums, like a tabla and dugga, but smaller in size. The duggi has neither the resounding quality of the tabla nor the peculiarity that the tabla has of sustaining the frequencies of a note (aas) but since it is the traditional instrument in UP, Bismillah Khan prefers to have it.

  • This is a very nice video of Ustad Bismillah Khan. Even the raag Gunkali is a very rare raag, not played or sung by many Indian Classical artistes. This is a morning melody. Time span 6-00 and 8-00 am.

  • Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan's rendition is worth mentioning. He and Ustad Bismillah Khan rank amongst the top musicians in the genre in my opinion, of course along with many other musicians, but, they have something special in there music.

  • mashallah bismillah khan saheb. Thankyou for sharing this eternal materpiece.

  • amazing !!!

  • i dont understand raag and thing like tht but this really impress me so much i really like it it great this man had really made india proud i am respect him and his talent

  • This person was too much to be for only one country , He was for the whole world ,

    Bismilllllaaahhhh !!!

  • This really had me going - stuff from another time/place and taking me there - but why oh why was it cut short at the end? Does anyone know where I can get the full Raag? This version would be ideal...

  • Because like everyone else I am limited to 100 megs of file size to upload a video.

  • and unlike everyone else you are unable to post in parts of 10min each :p

  • I hate to break up the song or raga into two or more parts. I believe it loses its effect and flavor. I am trying to find another avenue similar to youtube that I can post the entire video without limitation and BS about copyright issues from two indian companies for songs that 40 to 50 years old.

  • ...sure u can upload it on

vidpk dot kaam (hope u get what i typed) :)

and plz make sure u dun forget to drop me a pvt msg here after you post.

alternative is to upload the full version to mediafire dot kaam (no need to register etc) and paste the link in ur description here plz. same request again..send me a msg plz after u post... any more help and am always replying in pvt.

    Regards

    Dr.Bukhari

  • hello kjaan perhaps you should directly upload it to Megaupload (online storage) this is free and all you need is to distribute the link for the file and anyone can access it. Perhaps if you were to put that link in the information section of this video, it would work well.

  • @kjaan have u tried dailymotion ?

  • @23pair

    what is dailymotion??

  • @kjaan it is another website exactly like youtube, and i don't know if it allows larger files to be uploaded so that u don't have to break the raga into pieces to upload it....maybe worth looking into. copyright issues will still be the same sadly.

  • @23pair

Thank you my friend for the suggestion. I have created an account there today and posted Ustad Rashid khan which almost 12 minutes. If things go right I will post most of my videos there. Thanks,

  • bohat acha, kyabaathai,priceless upload!

    thank you

  • I don't understand how do you guys understand Raags. I learnt Tabla for 10 years and funnily I never understood raags. I understand it is being played in teental, and when the tehai is being played. I must say there must me some hole in my learning. I wish to start again...my tabla.

  • rag has to do with the melody, therefore to understand raags you should learn the melody part also...

  • Gunkali

  • No guys this is raag gunkali

  • wah wah!! I wish i had even 1% as much talent as this great Maestro... It would be a very worthwhile existance

  • kjaan, thank you so much for this incredible upload.

  • wah bohat khoob....maashallah....jeeyay bismillah....

    many thanks for posting...

    suhiab

  • I don't know anything about this kind of music, but this is very beautiful. Thank you!

  • Khalid Jaan, this is not ahir bhairav. Sounds more like Jogyia.

  • Pandiji...you are right. Thanks

  • ustad-ji this is raag gunkali, jogia has the 2 nishad coming back and they both from the bhairav thaat, but in gunkali the nishad is not omitted in this raag.

  • Thanks for the correction.

  • amazing...tallent personified....

  • brilliant video
