Wow they sis what ever it took for the gtr to win. Notice how when the lambo broke down the race kept going and when the gtr ran out of gas the stopped the race. Also they gave it a bonus lap to win. The GTR started about 200 meters behind the Lamborghini Murciélago and had to overtake 3 others to get behind the Lamborghini Murciélago. That means the GTR absolutely slaughtered them all in racing terms. If it started on pole position it would have been way out front but that would`nt have been as much fun to watch .Even if it got 2nd place it still won from starting so far back....GTR rules

@JakeVexx21 It would probably be the STi, and of the super cars it would be the Turbo. The GT-R is super jumpy at slow speeds because of the double clutch gear box. but for what its capable of on the track it couble be MUCH worse on the streets.
GTR deserved that win, it was flying into the corners, and bombing out of them, way faster than the murcielago. the best lap was 2 seconds faster !!.. murcielago wasn't made for the track like the gtr.. put it that way.

@h38604460 I have a GTR and a GT3 and I track them. Porsche is a much better track car. GTR cannot even do more than two laps in hot climate before things start melting. It needs serious re-works and modifications before it is track worthy whereas porsches are track worthy out of the box. Don't take these magazines and shows too seriously, they do only one lap at a time to get best lap time. Who races one lap in real life?

@rforracing Nope, you can see the YELLOW sign right at 30:42 that means that the temperature is high and that you should not rev it so it can cold itself down. After that the sign turns red and the power is cut down to about 300hp to not destroy the exhaust for overheat.
First off... doing Lap Times and the actual race, the conditions are totally different. These are professional drivers and im sure they arnt going slow or mucking up the race because theyre told too, As drivers have their own honour to uphold aswell. @juuvvy There´s a supercar battle on BMI on which a ZR-1 is indeed on the starting grid, the footage is old (from 2002 or 2001), try to search it on the gtchannel archive or if it isn´t there it is on one of the first 5 vols from BMI. @shobin05 it is a big deal, they didnt like the fact that the gtr didnt quite get past even though it was faster so they extended the race to change the result.
technically, lambo mer won the race. GTR came up on top because they added that extra lap. People might argue that given more lap, GTP would eventually come up on top, but same thing could apply to that Lotus, who knows, if they have added 10 more laps, GTR and everyone else might over heat and lose and lotus takes the crown...there are just so many possibilities that could occur when the race is not done within the initial setting.

@h38604460 I have a GTR and a GT3 and I track them. Porsche is a much better track car. GTR cannot even do more than two laps in hot climate before things start melting. It needs serious re-works and modifications before it is track worthy whereas porsches are track worthy out of the box. Don't take these magazines and shows too seriously, they do only one lap at a time to get best lap time. Who races one lap in real life?

as much as i love BMI this sort of things happen to often, the latest LFA vs GT-R vs GT2 RS is the proof, the Porsche miss shifted like 6 times the entire race.
It had the fastest lap on the time attack by 2 seconds almost, so it would easly win.

@rforracing Nope, you can see the YELLOW sign right at 30:42 that means that the temperature is high and that you should not rev it so it can cold itself down. After that the sign turns red and the power is cut down to about 300hp to not destroy the exhaust for overheat.

First off... doing Lap Times and the actual race, the conditions are totally different. These are professional drivers and im sure they arnt going slow or mucking up the race because theyre told too, As drivers have their own honour to uphold aswell. Obviously should be interesting to see a comparison between revy supercars and torquy american muscle...

technically, lambo mer won the race. GTR came up on top because they added that extra lap. People might argue that given more lap, GTP would eventually come up on top, but same thing could apply to that Lotus, who knows, if they have added 10 more laps, GTR and everyone else might over heat and lose and lotus takes the crown...there are just so many possibilities that could occur when the race is not done within the initial setting.
