That deer is the cutest! My family hunts every year and if they came in contact with a poor little deer like this stranded on a frozen lake they would of done the same thing. For all we know these guys enjoy the sport of hunting as well. Not every hunter is white trash wanting to kill every animal the come across. Hunting has its purpose and that has been a fact and a tradition since humanity took it's first breaths.

Could well be. Animals do not "think" that much. At least not as much as we humans do. Yet they "sense" and feel. So of course the wild animal at first is "scared" (instinct). then it seems, these humans are not that bad after all, not as bad as "expected". Then, of course, there is less need to panic. ;o)

@LeoAsc the reason people hunt is to help keep populations in control. If it weren't for hunters then deer would die in a much more unpleasant way, such as getting run over by a car. This puts the deer and car loads of people in danger. I would much rather have someone shoot a deer and it die in a couple of seconds than run one over with my car and possibly injure myself or others in my car.
