  • I saw 1964-tribute in April 2007...I wasn't aware of his passing; very sad :(

Who is going to portray Paul now?

  • I saw 1964 in Vancouver in about 1987. What a great show they put on! A unique thing about them as far as Beatles tribute bands go is that they would also play the more obscure tracks like "And Your Bird Can Sing" and nail them perfectly. Also when Gary first started, he played right handed but to get the more authentic look, he taught himself to play left handed. What a feat!

  • my mom was a great fan of the Beatles and she got me into their music..."1964: The Tribute" is the best Beatles tribute band I have ever seen.Gary, you truely are missed. I listen to the cd you gave me "All You Need...Is Live" every day on my way to and from work. Great job putting this video together! I know 1964 is re-establishing and it won't be the same without Gary but the entire Tribute band as a whole will do just fine....can't wait to see you guys in the Western NY area!!! God bless!

  • I just found out about your passing. Thanks for bringing back some great memories and feelings the three times I saw you perform with 1964. God bless you Gary. You will be missed.

  • I first saw 1964 at Red Rocks last year, it was my first concert ever. What a perfect band to see and a perfect guy Gary Grimes was. He was very talented, and was an amazing Paul. He really made it see mas if he was Paul and we were at a Beatles concert. Who could ask for more?He will be missed and will never be forgotten.

Family, friends and fans from all around the world will mourn his passing, but at the same time celebrate his life for the pleasure & happiness he helped bring to millions through music. R.I.P. Gary you will truely be missed.

  • This is terrible news. To his family just let me say that I saw Gary in concert as "Paul" several times. He brought great joy to all Beatle fans who were luck enough to see him and the rest of 1964 in concert. He will be missed by more people than you can ever imagine. God bless all of you.

  • I just heard this news now , Gary was an excellent Paul one of the best ever.

I have watched 1964 over the years on you tube. I play John in a Beatles show in Australia .

Sorry to hear guys you lost your best mate

remember the great times you had with Gary

he will be greatly missed .

Though I never knew you Gary as a fellow Beatle musician I feel I know you.

May your soul be at peace.

  • Such a talented guy who brought a lot of joy to a lot of people. Is definitely missed.

  • Great tribute to a great singer and musician..i've enjoyed seeing 1964 numerous times since the summer of '93 and of course was always overwhelmed at their performance. Saw them last summer and was disappointed Gary wasn't there...didn't realize the seriousness of his illness. RIP Mr. Grimes.

  • Only saw these guys (1964 As The Beatles) one time in the summer of 1989 in Richmond Va at 6th Street Market. They used our sound system and I got the whole show on video (VHS) now on DVD. I remember meeting Gary afterwards and while standing there he pulled off his wig and we both started laughing. Great person and my thanks to you all for keeping the music alive.

  • I just found out on Saturday when I went to see 1964 in Carmel, CA and I miss Gary terribly already. You will always be in our hearts.

  • Wow I just now heard about Gary's passing, it is such a shock! I am a big fan of 1964, they are the most talented Beatles tribute band ever. Rest in peace, Gary.

  • I did not know Gary had passed. I am saddened to hear this. I got to meet Gary once in Maumee after a show. Had two of my granddaughters with me. We told Gary that Paul was Breanna's favorite Beatle. As we turned arounf to leave Gary said "Breanna, you know what? you're my favorite too" It means even more today then it it did then. It meant a lot then. Thanks Gary....

  • saw the tribute last night at the keswick with the new paul. no one can amount to garys talent.

  • 始めて知りました。ご冥福をお祈りいたします。

My friends and I had the time of our lives.

Thanks Gary and to his family for sharing your wonderful talent.

    You will be deeply missed.

  • idolo. Descansa en paz.

  • I saw 1964 a few years ago and was absolutely blown away. The experience was so real it drove me to tears. I spoke with Mark after the show and he told me that Gary was right-handed and had taught himself how to play left-handed. Being a guitarist myself I can't even imagine a task like that! I'm so sorry to hear this news.... My thoughts are with him and his family.

  • May God Bless , we'll miss you Gary!!! You brought us many fun times thanks for preserving the Beatles for future generations.

  • I never had the pleasure to see 1964, but i have both CD's. Very sad news, May God bless Gary and his family.. RIP....

  • Rest in peace, Gary.

May God bless his soul and help to comfort all those that mourn his passing. I've seen and met Gary over the past nine years that the band has played in RI. He was a wonderful person first, and a wonderful entertainer.

    I'll miss him, too.

  • Such a shock. I used to see 1964 in Liverpool, at International Beatle Week where they used to play regularly, then had a couple of years' break and returned. Always a joy to watch, one of the best booted and suited tribute bands and really nice guys. I hope he didn't suffer. A great tribute - thank you, and rest in peace Gary. My thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.

  • he will be missed

  • My wife & I saw them at the Warner Theater in Washington, DC in 1984 when Gary was still struggling with that L-Handed thing, He was a sweetheart then and he was kind in the over 20 times we saw them over the next 20 years. Yea, we hadn't seen them in about 5 years so I was looking up the schedule when I saw this. Very Sad. What a nice man. God Bless you and your family.

  • I met Gary Grimes a couple of times in the 1990s as 1964 did make some appearances in Chatham, Ontario. All of the guys were great. I was given a CD after one show and I do have a picture of them live onstage. R.I.P. Gary Grimes..........
