  • Crcikey what the hell has happened to the comments below?! We used to get nice civilised people commenting on Maxxum1184's videos! Where have all these foul mouthed monkeys come from?! Ok - voice your opinion, but it's gotten a bit overkill... As with the GPS, I used to to think, christ, what a waste of time, but if you actually do some research and look at different outcomes and reasons for use, you'll be rather suprised. They're main use is for saving fuel, I don't think I need to go into that

  • EXCELLENT WORK!!! What G.P.S. system is this??

  • @BIG9TINY it's a Trimble 250.

  • @NeedleInTheGroove1 your some star lad, I see most of ur videos are cartoons...nuff said really...take care now.

  • @NeedleInTheGroove1 biggott

  • @djtoonraider666 biggot? whys that?

  • @djtoonraider666 before you tell me do you actually know what a biggeot is ye idiot lol

  • Why can't farms farm properly with propper tractors and methords.

  • i was not getting at you maxxum1184. i know times change and i know gps is the way to go for row crop work but i cant see any benefit with a plough imho

  • dont like the way farming is going at the moment . whats wrong with taking pride in your work like it used to be theres nothing i like more is when going out ploughing and making a good straight level job same when my pulling up pototato beds with my ridgers. with gps you might as well put a donkey in tractor this is why there is a shortage of good workers on the farms now .

  • @p262shp I can take it either way, nothing wrong with taking pride in your work, I take pride in mine. Being flippant I know, but if you take "like it used to be" to it's extreme, we all used to use horses instead of tractors, 2wd instead of 4wd.

My view is......if you ain't going forward then you're going backwards, there ain't no standing still, but are we any happier or better off now than then?.....probably not....but that's progress.

  • @p262shp lol why waste that donkey you might as well just not put anything in the tractor.

  • G.P.S is a great thing, the brothers i work for use them for mowing as below. Where customers used to say its a 17 acre field we now realise its more like 20 acres.

By the way maxxum1184 your ploughing looks very tidy with you. if you ever need a job on the plough & you fancy working for my boss let me know.

  • @BalingMechanic Mowing was what it was bought for, great job for mowing [square], no points or short work.

  • are you such a bad plower you cant plough without modern euqipment!

  • Ok ok smart arse i appologise but i still think that gps is exspensive!!

  • Fair enough.

  • Bloody hell talk about engine overkill you need at least another furrow on that plough and a furrow press!!! As for the price of that gps contraption what a waste of money £1000 POUNDS!!! bloody no need to have it!! Just shows how young kids in farming today are bloody lazy and cant do things for themselves without the need for technology! Some thing are essential but there aint no need for that!! Bloody hell i sound a right old miserable sod but im only 34!! Nice vid though!!LOL!!

  • I'd suggest you do a bit of homework before you waffle, we now have a 5 furrow, can't upgrade everything on the same day. GPS was bought for mowing ( working out field size etc & has paid for it's self long ago ) & this bit of ploughing is only an extra string to it's bow.

Young kids?? I'm older than you ;)

  • we use gps for lime spreading

  • Hehe ive got the same system and use it like that in awkward shaped fields, all the old boys at work laughed (including an ex scottish ploughing champ) till they seen it in action, modern tech, gotta love it .

  • how much dose one of them gps cost including the lyk satalite thing and how much is the yearly charge for running it???

  • That 1 cost £2k but they are about £1k now as far as I know.

There is no yearly subscription for this one.

  • a trimble 300?

  • 250.

  • Ok good GPS.. shell maby buy one of those

  • wich signal are you using ? egnos ?

  • Yep.

  • as long as you mind to turn the plough every time

  • I know that machine. But only rookies use that... -_- LEARN!!!

  • Just because I use it, doesn't mean I can't do it the old fashioned way........I can. It's what's known as embracing modern technology.....but then I guess you'd be too smart for all that!!.

  • The kverneland looks like it does a really good job. Hopefully it will do the same for me as I just bought a 5 furrow today.

  • Good plough. Reversible or conventional?

  • It is a semi mounted convetional, would have preferred a 6 but I couldn't find one used. What width do you have the plow set at? Looks like 16" perhaps. Do you think a reversible would handle the heavy grain corn residues?

  • the best vid on the net yours are

  • there nothin to the gps just 2 make the farmer look better then the small thown farmmere kile me

  • It's a trimble.

  • That whole GPS thing made no sense to me :P

  • very good idea!!!

  • very good work there!! i have john deere auto trac universal!! do the sowin with it its the best thing that was ever bought for the yard and very effective regarding tramlines for sprayers and spreaders!!

  • THANKS!!

  • Nice work there!

I was Puffin other season, ground was hard as tyson and i couldent get it straight was most annoying!

  • TA!!

  • how come you havent got jd's owns gps

  • Because I had the G.P.S before I had the tractor & mine's likely cheaper too.

  • A lot cheaper than what JD offers!

  • boring isnt that why your siting on there to drive it

  • am curious about the G.P.S, does it make that much of a difference if you use it?

  • Well this was the first time I used it for this.Measured out 8 widths on an S shaped siderig & ploughed it perfect apart from 30feet which could have done with another 8 or 10 inches off it. Every width was ploughed full, & you know where to stop ploughing the main field. All this without leaving the seat from someone who doesn't normally plough.

  • Also, watch it in high quality, it makes all the difference.

  • Aye it makes a serious difference! how does the G.P.S help when your mowing?

  • No points or short work.If the hedges are all bent you cae either mow stright or mow a bend & keep it parallel, plus I know the size of the field after being round it once.

  • That G.P.S is very handy.Nice JOHN DEERE.

  • THANKS!! Yeah it's wonderfull the amount of jobs you can use it for besides the obvious fertilizer.

  • very nice :)

  • CHEERS!!

  • Pigpen looks like he's dressed to rob the post office, not drill wheat... its a wonder u got any thing drilled with him stalking you with his "tripod" lol.

  • I could say plenty but friendship prevents me lol. Ask him about his tripod bag on it's first outing.

  • Good video, when you are doing the short runs if you throat the work it will make that first headland run a hell of a lot more comfortable.

  • Thanks for the tip but it could be a while till i'm on a plough again as i'm normally on the drill.

  • nice vid

how big was the field and how long did it take you?

  • THANKS!! 13 acres & 14 next to it then 7 beyond that. Half this field had been ploughed a month earlier.

A few more ploughing to come...later.

  • good vid you get a good tractor for ploughing

i had to usee the fastrac

    and that is crap

  • CHEERS!! That's the benefits of owning it!!

You're not a convert to the fastrac then!! lol

  • not in a 1000 years john deere all the way

well almost valtra are good tractors
