That tank was a only a 35 gallon BUT my new tank is a 55 gallon long. I wouldn't put the brackish water fish in anything smaller.

spotted green puffers had a couple in my store didnt sell so i took them

@crazjtk they are green spotted puffers, they should be kept in freshwater but some types of puffer should be kept in brakish.

one question and it might seem a tad stupid but what is brackish water?? i've looked it up but never got a descriptive answer...

Brackish water is a mix between Salt and fresh water. Full salt water like from the ocean or for a marine tank is 1.025 Salinity. (measured with a hydrometer from a pet store like Petco or petsmart) Brackish water is from 1.010-1.020 Salinity.

Nice tank. Thinking about brackish for a 200 gallon. How about 2 puffers, 5 mudslingers, a dozen bumblebee gobies and 3 archer fish. What you think? Any tips?

Yes and I have a driftwood piece that I took out for the video. It is necessary for them to live and molt on, to get out of the watter.

hey it would be great if you coudl help me out here, i just started my brackish tank with 2 dragon gobies...the guy at the pet store told me that puffers dont go well with the gobies, did you ever run into any problems like that before? thanks

yes the puffers will nip and chew on the dragon gobies until they have no fins. I keep mine in a separate tank.

That puffer was special he never nipped at anything! I have never had a puffer like him again.

Trust me keep the dragon separate.

I would really say It depeends on three factors,

The tank size (bigger the better, they ar not fast but they can catch other fish in small spaces)

How much you feed them

and the puffer (some are nice some ar not..)
