i have a simular model and i think its a pice of crap, after 8 months its began to overheating so now i can't look at youtube and play games. I hate it.
just wondering, does it have a movie editor? i recently got a handycam and want to edit videos and upload them to youtube. if you could answer, it would make my day! thanks!
I've got the black one. I really like the laptop but the fan is a quite loud when playing games which is very disturbing, and quite hot too (70degrees when playing css?). I had to buy a "cooler master" though..poor battery life less than 3hours. will be worst with a 7200/rpm internal hdd. But the new serie E I heard, had 4hours battery life? probably with the 2nd gen i-core..

Windows 7 Home premium.
NVIDIA GeForce 410m GPU 1GB.
6 GB 1333MHz DD3 RAM.
And there is no sound at all id doesn't get war or annything when you leave it on your lap it does get warm but even when the coolers are almost no sound. and the 4 hour batery depends on what you are doing .
@D5sir sure, the fan is silent but when playing a game you can hear the fan goes crazy and it goes very hot. Try to play an FPS game you will see^^. When fully charged what is the battery percentage of yours? mine is 3hours~ 3hours 10min top...

I got this laptop yestaday in white. Probably on par with the Apple MAC's for build quality but then again what do you expect from Sony?? I'd say that Sony have sort of skinned windows 7 a little bit cause theres a lot of VAIO software pre installed on the laptop and it does spell check for other programs like chat on facebook and anything you type, not just in Office. But yeah. Best laptop ive had :D

@liljunior805 : Are you sure you're putting the headphones in the right jack? It's the BLACK jack on the right, front corner of the laptop. (not the red jack) & make sure volume is up?

@mdrayan1 hay i got this for school and ive replaced the battery two times now because the battery life keeps decreasing and i have already made sure that it was not just the settings plus it is just constantly crashing and freezing. sony gave me a new one last week and im experiencing some of the same problems again i think it might just be this series.
@djendurance1 Mine never had any kind of a battery problem+it never used to freeze but Works very quick and faster, but that's true that battery charge doesn't stays much longer than 2 hours when you're working too much on the computer, when the screen brightness is in 100% without plugging in for charging. To increase the life of your battery unplug the charger when it's fully charged and then decrease the screen brightness to at least 50% you'll surely have good battery life.
I'm confused.. isn't it so that the colored ones don't come with a number pad? plus i thought that the e series has a 14 or 15.5 inch screen laptop not a 15 inch screen :S

@israel819 I'm on right now lol. It still works like the day I bought it. I haven't had any problems with it since day one, so that's really good. One complaint would be that the mouse pad grid is already worn down where our fingers (my sister uses it a lot also) move around the most, but I guess that's normal.
The thing that worries me the most is that whenever I put in a CD, the fan gets really loud and it takes a while to load. I don't know if that's normal but I'm going to get it checked.
what about the browser? i´ve heared that google chrome is installed and the vaio has got many problems with other browsers. is it true, or does any other browser works ,too?
@SamuGER No this laptop doesn't comes with Chrome..! But you can download it if you want it. And no, VAIO Laptop's doesn't have any problem with other browsers I use this Laptop and I am sure every browser works really great! I use Safari, Chrome, Opera, IE and Firefox all are good in MY LAPTOP.
I doubt I will buy it because it comes with Windows. Until they offer choice in the OS on the computer, I will not buy one. I believe that you shouldn't be forced to buy Windows when you get a computer.

Same laptop as the CW but bigger in size and shorter battery life. I would go for the smaller CW laptop in my opinion as it is smaller and has longer battery life and probably doesn't get as hot.

what about the browser? i´ve heared that google chrome is installed and the vaio has got many problems with other browsers. is it true, or does any other browser works ,too?

@SamuGER No this laptop doesn't comes with Chrome..! But you can download it if you want it. And no, VAIO Laptop's doesn't have any problem with other browsers I use this Laptop and I am sure every browser works really great! I use Safari, Chrome, Opera, IE and Firefox all are good in MY LAPTOP.

I doubt I will buy it because it comes with Windows. Until they offer choice in the OS on the computer, I will not buy one. I believe that you shouldn't be forced to buy Windows when you get a computer.

I went into a pcworld store to look at this model (it was in white and didnt look anywhere near as nice) but still a high quality good looking laptop.
Silly question, but is the trackpad on this model (or all E series models) smooth? Or is it dotty and rough? The one i used was rough, and i thought it felt really weird and not right.

@costalot0 There's a key in your laptop keyboard which is 'Fn' written in blue color right next to the left 'Ctrl' key, press and hold the 'Fn' key and then press F6 to increase the Volume and to decrease press F5 key.

Same laptop as the CW but bigger in size and shorter battery life. I would go for the smaller CW laptop in my opinion as it is smaller and has longer battery life and probably doesn't get as hot.
