I moved to new orleans form a city that is considered far safer and it is not a shit hole. I can tell you now, it is not a third world country. I have rarely if ever felt unsafe. Unless you are a young black man living select communities, you will be fine. However, if you are a young black man in treme or central city, then you will either end up in prison or dead before you hit thirty if you dont get out. More likely dead since the NOPD is inept. New Orleans is awesome and here to stay.
